On July 3rd Americans prepared for their celebration of the Fourth of July. Families prepared vacations and barbecues unaware of the horrors that were about to befall them. On the evening of July third several cargo vessels launched nuclear tipped warheads from the Gulf of Mexico. They detonated miles above the atmasphere causing a massive EMP wave. Planes fall from the sky, the interstate becomes a parking lot, and the information age has come to an end. There is no more electronic communication and no one knows what happened.

Your character begins near a small town in South Alabama just off of the interstate One Second After the EMP.
