Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Characters

The following is a list (in no specific order) of various characters I've created in different RPs, Stories, and Continuities of PMD or PSMD.

Also, these are not in the exact forms they were originally written in. They have been altered to fit the overall CS I've designed as well as to add more info and details I didn't have before, or take out unnecessary ones.

  • Spirit the Lucario (Council)*
  • Meridian the Sylveon (Council)
  • Lone the Absol (Council)
  • Selena the Bayleef (Crossroads)*
  • Ember the Quilava (Crossroads)

1. Council*: A Continuity which takes place Ten Years after the events of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, where a Mewtwo, reawakened after hundreds of years, seeks revenge against those who once defeated him.
2. Crossroads*: A Continuity from the Roleplay "Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon: Crossroads of Time".
3. Stargate*: A Continuity from the Roleplay "Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Stargate".

"I once journeyed the world alongside my friends. I learned so much, but I still know so little. My only wish now is to prepare those who carry the same dream I once had, for a brighter future for us all."

Name: Spirit

Species: Lucario

Gender: Male

Ability: Inner Focus

Moveset:
  • Aura Sphere
  • Bone Rush
  • Close Combat
  • Dragon Pulse

Continuity: Council

Team: Team Trinity (Formerly); Guildmaster - Valiant Village Exploration and Rescue Guild

History: No one is sure when Spirit came into existence. No one ever asked. He never talks much about his time as a Riolu. When he evolved into Lucario, he began travelling the world eventually forming a team with fellow explorers he met on his travels, an Excadrill named Razor and a Gogoat named Ox. They gained a well deserved reputation among the Exploration and Rescue Team Community, being one of the greatest teams of its time.

The team would forge friendships with many Pokemon and Teams, some of which are regarded as legends in their own right. Teams such as A.C.T. were among their allies. However, none could compare to the relationship they shared with the Legendary Team known as the Swords of Justice. The two teams fought side by side through the good times and the bad times. Their team was one of the few that was trusted with the ancient secret the Legendary Pokemon carried.

As they traveled and parted ways with friends and allies, the world would slowly seem to collapse around them. Natural catastrophes were on the rise, and Mystery Dungeons were popping up everywhere. He would watch as a meteor threatened to destroy the world, and would be stopped by one brave team who battled Rayquaza and convinced him to destroy the meteor.

Then he would be left helpless as Temporal Tower began to collapse, causing the very paralysis of time itself. Once again, a little brave team fought their way to the Deity Dialga and managed to defeat him and restore the world. But that would not be the end there. When Kyurem set out to destroy the world with the Bittercold, Spirit knew that he would not be the one to save the day. Once more, a brave team would destroy the Bittercold.

Months afterward, Spirit would learn the truth behind these victories. The reason that these teams succeeded was the fact that a Human was called to their world to help them. However, Spirit knew that this would not always happen.

After the Swords of Justice split apart, Spirit was left with guardianship of the Team Leader Keldeo's twin offspring. However, he found that it was quite difficult to control the two as they aged, becoming more and more independent like their father. One day, to little surprise to him, they had left without a word.

And then it began. Legendary Pokemon Team Leaders began vanishing without a trace. An ancient prophecy was unfolding, and no Human could save them now. The Fallen Legendary was returning. Concerned with the Twins safety, he contacted his old team to track them down, learning they had begun forming a team of various unaffiliated Legendary Pokemon. He knew now it was only a matter of time before HE returned...

And return he did. Mewtwo, a Legendary Pokemon who defied the powerful Legendary Council and waged war across the world, returned to once again attempt to claim what he believed was his. Spirit began to train the fledgling Legendary Team, until his Dojo was attacked and he was captured.

After being saved by Lone the Absol, who had betrayed Mewtwo secretly like his ancestor, he tended to his wounds. As soon as he could he joined the fight against Mewtwo's forces, and eventually the group that had become known as the Freedom Force drove his armies to a standstill.

In a last ditch effort to strike a critical blow to their forces, the Freedom Force, Legendary Council, and a team of Legendary Pokemon that included the one who had defeated Mewtwo before, Mew, attacked Mewtwo's Base of Operations, and in a heated Final Battle, defeated, but not destroyed, Mewtwo, although he escaped with the aid of his most loyal followers. Finally, Spirit caught his breath. It was over, for now...

In the Days following, Spirit found his soul mate, another Lucario named Luna. Together with his former teammates, and with the Swords of Justice, founded Valiant Village on the Grass Continent. There he and his small band created a Guild. Also, after witnissing the Power of Mega Evolution at work, he went on a quest to discover his own Mega Stone, from which he returned triumphant.

After a few years, Spirit and Luna would come to raise a family, while serving as the two Guildmasters of the Valiant Village Guild. They would train, preparing for the day in which Mewtwo would return. Until that day...

Personality: Spirit is a serious, no nonsense kind of Pokemon. This personality has come from the many years as he watched their world near the brink of destruction. This doesn't leave him on edge, however, in fact it's quite the opposite. He usually remains rather calm and tranquil, even in the most dire of times. For if he can't keep himself in check, how can he expect those who follow him to?

But just because he's super serious, don't think he doesn't have a lighter side. The longest standing friends of the Lucario know that he has his moments, and that he's a deep and caring Pokemon at heart. Though it's rare, he has cracked a joke on occasion, though if you blink you might miss it.

Important Items:
  • Lucarionite - A sacred stone to Lucarios. This grants them the power of Mega Evolution. Spirit has his stone in a wrist bracer. He only uses it if the situation is at its most dire.
  • Old Team Badge - An old and worn Team Badge, so old that those today don't even recognize the design. It is one of three, the other two belonging to Razor and Ox.

Notes:
  • Spirit is one of the most well known veterans of The Second Great War, and was one of the key members of The Freedom Force.
  • Spirit is the one of the Guild Masters of the Valiant Village Guild alongside his partner, Luna.

"My Dream? It's to see the world truly at peace. No fighting, no disasters, everything as it should be. Until that day, I'll keep doing what I'm doing!"

Name: Meridian

Pokemon: Sylveon

Gender: Female

Ability: Pixilate

Moveset:
  • Fairy Wind
  • Quick Attack
  • Moonblast
  • Shadow Ball

Continuity: Council

History: Meridian grew up in Baram Town on the Air Continent. As an Eevee she was just like any normal kid her age, full of energy and ready to get out and see the world. She also went to School, where one day the class ended up going on a field trip to a far corner of the Air Continent. This would prove to be an adventure of a lifetime for her.

At some point Meridian got separated from the main group. Stumbling around lost out in the wild, she quite literally fell into a strange place she would later know as the Diamond Domain, where she was found by a group of Carbink and brought to Diancie, the young Princess of the Diamond Domain. After explaining her predicament, Diancie personally helped her return to her group. This meeting ended up being the spark of a wonderful friendship.

Whenever she could now, Meridian went to visit Diancie. The two became best friends. One day when Meridian came, the Diamond Domain was under attack from a Delphox and Greninja, who were after Diancie for her Diamond Creating Power. It was here she Evolved into Sylveon and forced the attackers away. Following this, Sylveon stayed to help protect the Diamond Domain.

Soon, however, Meridian would have to depart because of family. She returned to Baram Town and began to settle back into normal life, until one day Diancie appeared in town with her bodyguard Chesnaught. The two were once again being chased by Delphox and Greninja, who had attacked again and fought their way through all the Carbink. Frantic to escape, Diancie and Meridian gained the help of a local Lapras and fled the Air Continent, still pursued by the duo with Chesnaught now under their control.

They eventually found their way to the Grass Continent, where they took to the land and kept on the move at all times. On the verge of capture, the two happened upon an Absol, who helped them by directing the two towards the Secret Base of Mewtwo, whom he served. After doing so, he revealed to the two that he was a double agent, working against Mewtwo, and that his name was Lone. As thanks for his assistance, Diancie gifted Lone with a strange stone, before she and Meridian departed.

After weeks of running, the two thought they were in the clear. That changed when Delphox, Greninja, and Chesnaught caught up to them with the backing of Mewtwo's army. However, they were saved by the Newly Formed Legendary Team led by the Twin Keldeo. Meridian witnessed the reawakening of Mew, and was present at the Final Battle where Mewtwo was defeated.

After this, Meridian returned to Baram Town once again, and settled down with a Jolteon named Raye. The two had two children, the eldest being Serenity, and the younger being Krystal. Both were Female, a rare occurrence in the Pokemon World. After the two evolved into Sylveon and Glaceon respectively, they were sent to Valiant Village to be trained by Spirit to prepare for the inevitable return of Mewtwo, while Meridian remained on the Air Continent, leaving the security of the world to the next generation.

Personality: Meridian is possibly the most compassionate being in the world, at least that's what those around her would say. To make her your friend will make a friend you will have for life, and one who will have your back in any situation. She's sweet, but that's not to say she doesn't have her mean side. If she sees Pokemon being hurt in an unfair fight, she'll rush in head first to help.

That leads to a few issues, such as adept tunnel vision. More than once she has interfered in a situation she should have steered clear of and faced the consequences. However, when faced with a seemingly impossible adversary, all her confidence and ability seemingly vanishes, and she is left nothing but a nervous wreck. This has only happened once, though.

Important Items:
  • Fairium Z - A gift from Diancie, Meridian never knew what it really was. She kept it in her room as a pretty crystal, but later on, Diancie explained the importance of it, and she was able to unleash the ancient Fairy Type Z-Move.

Notes:
  • Meridian was originally an unnamed Sylveon who, as stated above, helped Diancie escape from Delphox and Greninja. The only real difference is a name for the character.
  • Originally, Lone and Meridian were going to be the couple, but it was later changed to their children because of a change to the continuity.

"My Ancestor made the wrong choice, but made up for it in a way none had before. He shaped what I am today, and I did what I had to do to protect this world. Sometimes... you just have to make the hard choices."

Name: Lone

Pokemon: Absol

Gender: Male

Ability: Super Luck

Moveset:
  • Night Slash
  • Psycho Cut
  • Razor Wind
  • Future Sight

Continuity: Council

History: Lone was born into a tribe of nomadic Absol in the far north of the Air Continent. This particular tribe was said to have existed for centuries, formed by an unnamed Absol who had once served in some sort of great army. No one really remembered much other than that, so that's what they stuck with. His life was a relatively normal one. He traveled with his tribe, and grew, trained, and became very powerful.

He honed his skill of Future Sight, as well as his adept Disaster Sense, which he used to help Pokemon when he could. However, one day he received a shocking vision he couldn't quite understand. A giant rock hurtling towards the planet, if not stopped would destroy them all. He had no idea what it meant, until the tribe learned of a nearly world ending event stopped by a small team of Pokemon who defeated Rayquaza and convinced him to destroy a meteor that would collide with their world.

At that point he thought it was a fluke, a freak accident that he saw such a future. However, it would not be the last. Years later, he would see another vision of their world's end. A tower on a floating island crumbling. Strange gears in strange lands brought together. Again, he knew not what it really meant. Only after the Paralysis of Time was stopped did he really begin to wonder about his true ability.

And twice more would visions of destruction come. Finally he came to realize that he had an abnormally powerful gift of Disaster Sense, being able to sense events that could change the world from continents away. For months he would then wait, awaiting the time the next vision would be sent. But none would come.

Ten years passed, and he had moved on with his life. He now traveled around all the world, helping everyone he could. One night, he finally received the vision he had awaited so many years before. A gathering of Legendary Pokemon like none seen for centuries. A dark force once thought defeated rises. An era of war. Never before had his visions been so vivid. Why this one? Why now? He had to find out.

So he ventured to Treasure Town in search of answers. He searched and searched, until he found himself at the Treasure Town Guild. In their archives, he discovered an ancient legend. A war in ancient times, caused by a split between Legendary Pokemon. This could be the clue he was searching for. He had to know more. But the more he learned, the less he hoped his vision would come to fruition.

Finally, he learned of an Absol who served in one of the armies. The legend nearly matched the one his tribe had passed down. According to the legend, this Absol betrayed his faction, and helped to bring victory to the opposing faction. He found the Absol had learned how terrible his choice had been, and decided to put his position to good use.

He knew what he had to do. He set out to stop the future he had envisioned from coming. He was soon met with the fact that the future sensed could not be changed. Everything he had seen began to occur. And soon, the dark force from his vision returned. Mewtwo, a Legendary Pokemon who turned against a council of Legendary Pokemon, was stripped of his Legendary Title, and exiled, until he waged war on the world for years before his eventual defeat.

There was only one clear choice for him. He did what his ancestor had done. He joined Mewtwo and used his position to undermine his operations and assist the Legendary Pokemon to defeat him. During this time he met Diancie and Meridian the Sylveon, whom he saved from attackers and was gifted a strange stone. After some time his actions began being called into question, however they were soon otherwise occupied as the Final Battle approached.

And in this battle, he showed his true colors, choosing the side of the Legendary Pokemon and achieving the power of Mega Evolution through the stone gifted to him, which turned out to be Absolite. As the battle went into full swing, Lone took to the skies and struck at those below him. As the battle drew to a close, he was close to being killed by his former Commander, Darkrai, when Mewtwo was fell, and his forces retreated.

Following the battle, Lone returned to his home. He had dealt with enough world ending disasters to last a life time. He found his mate, an Absol named Aurora. The two soon became the leaders of the tribe, and had a son they named Omen. Having build a friendship with a Lucario named Spirit, they sent him off to his Guild to be trained when he was old enough, to prepare for the day Mewtwo would return. After graduating to full guild member status, Lone bestowed him his Absolite, leaving the future in the hands of the next generation.

Personality: Lone has a personality that's hard to pin down. He can be light at times, dead serious at other times. Following the end of the Second Great War, he trained under Spirit for a short time before returning home, learning from his calm personality. That may make him harder to pin down, because no one can really be sure if he's hiding his true emotion or is legitimately calm. When he's angry, he will take things to the extreme.

He is extremely loyal. He won't leave someone behind, no matter how much he is told to. The one thing he has never done is take a life. If he takes his enemy's life, he feels it makes him no better than that enemy.

Special Items:
  • Absolite - A gift from Diancie and Meridian the Sylveon for helping them escape their attackers. At the time, he didn't know what it was, but at the Final Battle he unlocked it's true power and Mega Evolved. The stone was later passed onto his son, Omen.

Notes:
  • Lone was originally an unnamed Absol who did exactly his history says. The only difference being a name for the character.

"Maybe... in Self Defense I can understand, but fighting for little to no reason makes us no better than who we are told to fight against..."

Name: Selena

Species: Bayleef

Gender: Female

Ability: Leaf Guard

Moveset:
  • Razor Leaf
  • Solarbeam
  • Safeguard
  • Protect

Continuity: Crossroads

Team: Team Horizon - Folio Town Exploration Guild

History: Selena was born to a Venusaur Father named Brute and a Meganium Mother named Leanne. As a Chikorita she lived most of her life with her parents on the outskirts of Folio Town, nestled high in the branches of a gargantuan tree that existed near the center of the Sand Continent. She was always cautious of strangers, living on the outer branches which never saw much foot traffic. She lived a solitary life with her parents. She was happy, that was all that mattered to them.

Then one day it all changed. Their home caught fire and was nearly burned to the ground by the time Guild Members arrived. Luckily the family escaped unharmed, and the fire was labeled an accident. Brute never believed that story, but there was nothing they could do about it. As a result, the family moved closer to town.

After that, Brute began training his daughter how to defend herself every day. She hated every minute of it, she detested fighting. She never understood why Pokemon always had to fight. On the other side of the spectrum, her mother enrolled her in school in Folio. Immediately she was the odd one out, having never been around kids her own age. And, she immediately became the target of local bullies.

Eventually, due to the training from her father and the torment she faced at school, she evolved into Bayleef. Her parents were so happy for her, but things remained unchanged at school. Many other local kids had also evolved, and they still picked on her constantly. Eventually, she stopped training with her father and even began ditching school until Summer, where she spent as much time away from crowds as possible.

She didn't stop trying to make friends, however. But, her awkwardness and shyness often prevented her from even maintaining a proper conversation with other kids. She thought she'd be this way forever, until one fateful day at Town Square. A Guild Member had just returned to Folio badly hurt, and she was one of the first there by chance. While she tried to help, the bullies never let up. She was sent away in tears, and headed into the outskirts where she normally went when she was upset.

It was on this day that she was followed, not by a bully, but by someone who had grown tired of seeing her be bullied. She was about the same age, and her name was Ember, a Quilava. While it was a somewhat rocky start, the two talked and grew rather close in their short time together. As the two headed back towards town, they met two more who seemed about their age, one of which had also stood up for her. For the first time she'd found a group of kids who didn't judge her and that she could talk with. Friends.

Eventually she learned that one of them, a Totodile named Devon, was actually a Human sent from another world to save theirs. She had always heard the stories, but never believed she'd actually ever meet one. Together with Ember, Devon, and a Shiny Kirlia named Lilisette, the four formed Team Horizon, and set out on their first mission together.

Personality: Since she was a Chikorita she's always been wary of strangers. She's always had a shy and somewhat awkward personality that often got in the way of meeting new Pokemon or making friends. However, beneath that is a sweet, kind, thoughtful, and rather intelligent girl. She detests violence as a means of settling a dispute, and refuses to come to blows unless absolutely necessary. She believes there's always an alternative solution to fighting, but both sides views are often clouded and need to be cleared to see the truth.

"You don't have to be sorry about who you are. Everyone's the way they are for a reason, although some reasons I haven't figured out yet..."

Name: Ember

Species: Quilava

Gender: Female

Ability: Blaze

Moveset:
  • Ember
  • Flame Wheel
  • Quick Attack
  • Dig

Continuity: Crossroads

Team: Team Horizon - Folio Town Exploration Guild

History: Ember was born to two retired Guild Members of the Folio Town Exploration Guild. While her mother was content with a simple life at home now, her father was still deeply interested in Mystery Dungeons, having become a Dungeon Researcher in his spare time. He shared many tales with Ember about his time with the Guild, which left a strong imprint on the young Cyndaquil.

Her memories of him end there, however, as barely even half a year after she had been born, her father went missing when looking into the possibility of a new dungeon being located near Folio Town. All the Guild managed to recover was his Treasure Bag. This weighed heavily on the family, and neither ever truly got past the grief.

Ember, now without a strong father figure, began hanging out with what many would call the bad crowd. They weren't criminals by any means, but they weren't the best children in town that was for sure. Thankfully, many of her fathers brief teachings still remained in her memory, and she had many falling outs with her so called friends. Some way or another, though, she would find her way back to them.

When she one day evolved into Quilava, she was unsure about her new form and abilities. She hated the fact that she was no longer small enough to fit into tiny gaps as she had been able to before, but with her evolution came a wake up call to her senses. She watched as her 'friends' often bullied other Pokemon, one in particular: A Bayleef named Selena. One day in town square, when she was trying to help an injured Guild Member, the leader of their group named Bruce finally crossed the line when he scared her off. With heated words she left in search of the skittish Grass Type.

When she caught up with her, it was an awkward meeting, as to be expected. However, the two simply talked, and the more they talked, the calmer and closer they seemed to become. She finally coaxed the Bayleef into coming back to town, but the two stopped when they met up with two Pokemon, one of which had stood up for Selena. They were a Totodile named Devon and a Shiny Kirlia named Lilisette. The group became fast friends.

When she found out that Devon was actually a Human sent to save their world, Ember jumped at the chance to be on a team with him, along with Selena and Lilisette. Together, they formed Team Horizon, ready to face whatever the world would throw at them. At least that's what Ember believed.

Personality: As a Cyndaquil she was often a troublemaker hanging out with the wrong crowds. She was often defiant with her mother after her father's disappearance, and relationships were very strained.

Upon her evolution, however, she wised up rather drastically. She realized what she had been doing, and made amends with those she had strained ties with. She even tried to set her friends on the right path, which didn't work. She tends to be a act first think later kind of Pokemon, leading her to be headstrong and reckless from time to time. She also has very little training or experience in exploring, but doesn't dampen her enthusiasm. She's normally an optimist, and it takes a very dark and bleak situation to make her stop believing in her friends.

Important Items:
  • Old Treasure Bag - A Treasure Bag that belonged to Ember's father, an explorer who went missing when he discovered a new dungeon near their town. It was all that was ever found of him, and she cherishes it dearly.

"That's how I got here... one failure after a next, resulting in the biggest failure sitting next to you..."

Name: Ligero

Species: Luxio

Gender: Male

Ability: Intimidate

Moveset:
  • Spark
  • Thunder Fang
  • Bite
  • Discharge

Team: Team Daybreak - Folio Town Exploration Guild

History: Ligero was born into a nomadic Luxray Clan that lived on the Sand Continent. As a Shinx he lived a rather peaceful life. Well, as peaceful as it could be when your family and friends are always fighting against another clan. Yes, the Clan had a fierce feud with the Manectric Clan which sometimes shared the land they lived on. While the fighting first caught him off guard, it soon became something he expected, and would be surprised if a fight didn't occur.

While he was close with many members of his clan, he had one friend he cherished more than anyone else besides his parents. A Shinx only a few months younger than him, named Hikari. The two were nearly inseparable. They were rarely apart unless they were sleeping or spending time with their distinct parents.

As time passed, the Clan Leader Stormer decided it was time for Ligero to take on his Right of Passage Quest, which would officially make him an adult of the clan. The task given to him by Stormer was to reclaim a Luxray Relic that had been stolen by the Manectric Clan. And so, Ligero headed off into the desert, determined to fulfill his quest.

As the weeks passed, his leads on the artifact kept turning into dead ends, and eventually the trail went cold. When he happened upon a recruitment flyer for Law Enforcement Pokemon, he thought maybe it could help him find this missing item. So he began undergoing the Law Enforcement training, during which he finally evolved into Luxio. However, on the final part of the training, he failed his personality evaluation, with the instructor claiming he was too "Hotheaded when under pressure in a dangerous scenario."

Angered over his failures that had begun to mount, he stormed off into the desert once again in search of the Luxray Relic. After only a few days, however, he was attacked by Outlaws, who stole all his supplies and left him for dead. This was not the end, however, as he would be rescued by Guild Members from a little known Guild located in Folio Town.

He was amazed at the bravery of these Pokemon, and thought that joining them might bring him the redemption he sought for his failures, and may finally turn up a lead into the missing item he had set out almost a year before to find. He joined the Folio Guild, but tended to find it hard to work with others. Not to mention he didn't have the best of luck with many missions when odd things started happening.

When the Sandstorm that surrounded Folio Town vanished, he knew something was going on. He continued his missions, until he took on an Aron client. He was searching for his parents, whom he'd never met. He, along with Letho the Sableye and Breeze the Shaymin, traveled deep into Folio's roots for answers, but they ended up coming face to face with their most dangerous foe to date. The Aron was kidnapped, and the group was left utterly defeated. Yet another failure to add on to his continuously growing list.

The next day, however, brought a glimmer of hope. In a meeting that seemed almost fated, his old childhood friend Hikari found her way to Folio Town, and the two reunited joyously. As it turned out, after he failed to return, Hikari was sent on her Right of Passage Quest to find him and bring him home. Not satisfied that he had not yet completed his quest, he refused, but so did Hikari, who was determined not to leave his side again.

Seeing no other option, the two went to Glyph, the Guildmaster of the Folio Guild, and formed Team Daybreak. Their first mission, however, would turn out to be rather different, as an old face finally resurfaced, and they were tasked with helping him with his task.

Personality: As a Shinx, he felt as if he was ready to take on the whole world. A day didn't go by that he didn't dream of finally becoming one of the adults of the clan, like his father. He valued family and friendship the most, and would never turn his back on any of them.

After leaving on his quest, however, he began doubting his own abilities even as he evolved and grew stronger. His constant failures hit his spirit hard, but he never gave up. He ended up turning into a bit of a lone wolf, though, which further impacted his success rate. He had begun to question what he was even doing, at least until that fated day where his life became bright once more. While he still has his doubts now, he is confident that he will one day succeed and redeem himself... for now.

Important Items: None, Yet...

Notes:
  • Since his failure in Law Enforcement Training, he has always gone by Fuse. He didn't want his past mistakes to show up in his future, and so saw fit to hide his identity. Only Glyph knows his true name, out of everyone at the Guild.
  • As already stated, Ligero had turned into a lone wolf by the time of his coming to work at the Folio Guild. However, the reunion with Hikari and the subsequent formation of Team Daybreak may change that...

"I don't care if I have to train from daybreak until nightfall. I don't think there's one thing I've ever been more sure of in my life."

(Hikari as a Shinx)

Name: Hikari

Species: Luxio

Gender: Female

Ability: Guts

Moveset:
  • Spark
  • Hidden Power (Ice)
  • Swift
  • Thunder Wave

Team: Team Daybreak - Folio Town Exploration Guild

History: Hikari was born into The Luxray Clan of the Sand Continent. When she was young, she had many friends among the numerous other Shinx who were her age. However, her closest friendship was with one named Ligero, who always had a smile on his face and was ready for whatever the world would throw at them. She enjoyed his optimism and treated him not just as a friend, but as a role-model. He was half a year older than she was, after all.

It got to the point where the two spent all their free time together. However, those days were not to last. Their clan was locked in a heated feud with the nearby Manectric Clan of the Sand Continent, and every day there was some sort of battle waged between them. As Ligero neared the time of his Right of Passage Quest, she became increasingly worried that their friendship wouldn't survive. To calm her fears, he gifted her a flower he had found, saying that as long as they stayed friends, the flower would never wilt.

Not long after, he went on his quest, and Hikari awaited the day he would return. And so she waited... every day she gazed out into the desert from the oasis they called their home, hoping to catch a glimpse of him on the horizon. The days turned to weeks, then to months, and soon a year had passed. It had come to be the time now for her own Right of Passage Quest. Stormer, the leader of the clan, tasked her with finding Ligero, and bringing him home.

She went out optimistic that she would find him. However, she wasn't as prepared for the desert as she thought she was. Within days her supplies had run dangerously low, with not a town in sight. When she was attacked by feral Pokemon in the desert and evolved, she could now clearly see she was quite far from civilization, and she concluded that she was now lost in the deserts of the Sand Continent. Soon, she collapsed from the lack of food and water, but was rescued by a passing Rescue Team who was on their way to the Town of Folio. She traveled with them there, hoping to restock her supplies and continue her journey.

Once there, however, she found something much more important, or rather, someone. Of all places in the world she thought to find him, it was here in the town she had never heard of, and came to by chance. She found Ligero. Overjoyed, the two immediately began catching up on the times. She learned of Ligero's numerous failures, but admired his determination to see his quest through. She told him about her quest, and the two decided to stay. Not only that, but they decided to form a team at the Folio Town Guild, naming it team Daybreak. This was the dawn of a new day in their chapter...

Personality: Imprinting heavily off of Ligero, she is quite an optimist. She wants to see the best in everyone. Compared to her counterpart, though, she is inexperienced and undertrained for the tasks she is about to embark upon. She doesn't care, however, as long as she's beside her friend all the way.

She can be dramatic at times, and once her mind is set there is no changing it, even if you offered her a million dollars she would not think twice about her decision. She is honest and truthful, but also quite stubborn even if it doesn't seem like it.

Important Items:
  • Strange Flower - A gift from Ligero from when they were cubs. She was told as long as their friendship lasted was as long as that flower would stay in bloom. And, defying all laws of nature, it has stayed in bloom ever since.
