Humanity is blissfully unaware of the heavenly beings who control and watch over their world from above. Although all powerful and immortal, their existence and actions are still regulated and governed by a single entity referred to as God. Instead of an actual name, this serves as a title given to the victor of a certain competition hosted every few millennia. Within a few months, the sixth competition will be underway, and a new God will finally be crowned.
You must be wondering what this competition actually is, and I'm here to tell you. Every time it is held, it goes by different names, so when referring to it in general, most simply just use the term competition. Lame, I know, but it serves its purpose. Its usually composed of several different events, with the climax being some sort of battle; it varies every time. However, instead of these so-called heavenly beings going against each other, they choose representatives among the youth of the world.
Each will be allowed to choose one at random, and after communicating with them once, they are no longer allowed to interact with them in any way. In exchange, they can bestow upon their chosen representative a small fraction of their power, in the form of items or abilities.
Why would someone agree to participate though? Well, the winning representative is given a wish to be granted. As long as it doesn't transcend or affect the heavenly realm, anything goes. A tempting offer, right?
So, with that all said, anyone interested in participating?
The powers that will be given to your characters will be incredibly simple and nothing too amazing. What I'm hoping for is having each ability adapt and transform given the situations you'll be forced into. Eventually, creating something complex and powerful will definitely be a possibility.
