Inspired by X-Men, Tiger and Bunny, and Sky High this is your standard superhero/supernatural school life Rp, with a bit of a twist.
It is the great age of meta-humans and superpowers superheroes and supervillains are not only common place, but often time they are given the celebrity treatment. Here and now being a superpowered hero (and some villains) is a legitimate job complete with sponsors and an entire channel dedicated to watching their heroic exploits. It is because of this that an academy was built in for the sole purpose of fostering the would be superheroes with metahuman abilities in hopes that they will also become one of the world's greatest superhero. If only being a superhero was that easy.
Welcome to the Metahuman Academy for Superheroes, or as its abbreviated by the students "M.A.S.H.". Located in a secret facility in the city the students in the academy are taught and trained to become the superheroes they all want to be. The thing is though not everyone's really superhero material. In spite of all the grandeur that the academy is known for the facility is also known for being elitist, and quite fascist when it comes to those that become superheroes.
With the school there are a variety of students and not everyone fits what the image that school wishes it had. Like the majority of the population, and the government the school wants a superhero that's strong, fast, can fly, invulnerable, and possesses the ideal image of a caped crusader. Those who don't fit these "ideal" qualities they are labeled as the outcast and constantly the target of ridicule and mockery by those who are the favorites in the academy. This often leads the outcasts in Detention, a lot. As such after a while the name Detentionee's caught on, the term they use to refer to those losers who don't possess the ideal hero image because they either lack the standard powers, have a more "flavorful" personality, and a back story that isn't quite sparkly clean.
The Detentionee's room are located underneath the school, in the basement near the "sewers". It is there that they hatch a plan. tired of being called the losers and called wannabe heroes they decide to start a revolution. Instead of wasting their time they in the basement Detention room they decide to do what many of them were told they could never do. They became heroes. And heroes they will be, if only it was that was easy,
Using their Detention room as a base they decide to become heroes that aren't like thsoe who mistreated them. Unlike those heroes who use their brute strength and perfect ideals they decide to be smart. Using their so called lame powers they'll become heroes that don't just beat up bad guys, put people and jail and stop criminals, no they'll do that and more. Instead of simply being drones that stop every disaster that comes their way, they'll actually pursue the bad guys and permanently, as much as they can, clean the city of all the true evil that there are. They'll do what the so called heroes haven't done in ages, be actual heroes and most of all they'll learn what it really means to save people, and not just those are wearing civilians.
----------
As stated these heroes are not the same types of heroes as everyone else. They are different and the cases they will take are even more different, and even more dangerous because they will be purposely handling the cases that those so called heroes are too goody goody to handle.
The story will be about this group as they slowly become a renowned group, that will go head to head with the other heroes (that are basically government pets), villains (that aren't all that bad), and (the main antagonist) an evil mastermind who's been manipulating the superheroes, school and the general populace to ensure that his plans are running smoothly alll while the "heroes" are off dealing with his pawns.
----------
Things to know:
- Within the school there's a faction war between the magical and mystical heroes, and those in the alien and science groups.
- School life will be similar to how school life is in the US, go to school, attend class, go home. Naturally since our charterers are in detention they'll be doing a lot more time after school.since well, they do much more than normal students.
- As for the character there' no limit to what they can do, but the reason they're in Detention in the first place is because they're not the type of people who will become like superman. Think Spiderman (bad rep), Batman (dark), Ironman (really smart, but no powers), and The Hulk (no control).
- The above doesn't mean that all our characters are like these guys, maybe it's because of their parenthood (bad guy parents), maybe their powers aren't just that spectacular, maybe their personality isn't exactly suited for heroes (they still want to be heroes though), or maybe their whole hero shtick/appearance isn't all that heroic.
- Their base is going to be the Detention room, but let's face it it's not exactly the most normal basement room. Maybe the room they were using for detention was normal, but there's always more to the story. For there's going to be two access points to the Detention room, one through where the school's Detention room, and the other is through the sewers.
- Our characters will also have secret identities, unlike the public heroes who use their name as their hero identity. With secret identities comes all the standard secret identity problems like questioning parents and meddlesome peers.
- Since they are doing this without any financial support from sponsors they won't have any of the fancy costumes with all the -proofs in tact. A part of the story will be about how they become competent heroes complete with the armor, costumes, etc.
- The story will be divided into two. The daytime and the Nighttime. During the Daytime our characters deal wit the school, their family, and who they are as people. At night is when they do their hero work, they'll investigate, follow clues, and beat up some bad guys and all that is heroic.
I'll be updating this as much as I can with any info i can come up with and with anything you guys also come up with.
