Am aiming for this to be High Casual, but the tag prioritised Advanced.
I'm looking for any interest in a Warhammer 40k RP in a setting similar to Dan Abnetts novel, Double Eagle.
The main idea is still to be fleshed out, but I do have a couple of people on board willing to help me with this, and I just want to see what interest this will gather beforehand.
The basic plot will be similar to Double Eagle, and Dunkirk for those history enthusiasts as well, with the Imperial Guard army being defeated by an enemy force (not yet sure who to pick for this part yet, suggestions and arguments for are welcome) that was massively reinforced, and forced into a long retreat back to the coast, in order to be shipped to the largest landmass on the planet, for regroup, rearm, resupply and reinforcements.
With that in mind, it'll fall to the Navy's Air Forces to hold the enemy air assets back long enough for the land army to retreat to the coast.
I am hoping just for Imperials during this, depending on how much it's asked for I may allow a squad or two of Astartes but this will need to be argued for heavily. Players can be members of the Imperial Guard in the retreating forces, local PDF forces either in the retreat, or waiting for the Imperial Guard to reach them and tag onto the column, and the Imperial Navy Air Force.
I'm also torn between how this RP should run, individual characters, squads, or nation style, where each column of the army is a "nation".
The very nature of the RP itself will also allow for those who need to drop out for finals, holidays and other such things, to be able to return, provided they can give a valid reason as to where their character/s have been. Example being a column gets destroyed, the odd survivors struggled to reach Imperial lines but being smaller in number managed to avoid detection for X amount of time.
