Timeline: Based fifty years after Alien Resurrection (2484 AD)
Summary: Alien Rising in it entirety is a story based around a company that rose to prominence during the Alien Resurrection time frame. A genetics company that goes by the name Harland Corporation. After the various events caused by Weyland Yutani, Harland Corporation was created in an attempt to further understand the Xenomorph and find weakness's if they be biological or otherwise. Born out of fear that the Xenomorphs would one day reach earth, Harland Corporation was tasked with not only understanding the Xenomorph species but also creating new age line weaponry and armor that could more efficiently help soldiers take on the Xenomorphs. To this end Harland Corporation has become the forefront of intelligence when it comes to the Xenomorphs, supplied with the brightest and most dedicated of employee's and unlimited funding they have in a large sense redefined the fight against the Xenomorphs for all mankind. That is up until their main research facility deep in the Xenomorph territory went completely dark and all communications ceased just after their last known status that they discovered something never seen before involving the Xenomorphs. Something they feared could be the end of humanity. Fearing what may have happened to their facility and the exployee's within it, Harland Corporation contacts the military and requests an highly trained team to go in and ascertain the fate of the facility. Secretly though at the same time Harland also put together a small team of their own to accompany the military team to the planet, their objective, to find out what this new discovery is and bring back sensitive data that would be disastrous if it ever saw the light of day.
For anyone interested in this story: Pertaining to my future partner it is important to note that we will in fact be playing multiple characters each. The way I have decided this is that one of us will play the military force and the other will play the Harland team. Each team is going to be comprised of four or more characters a piece. We can discuss specifics if you would like to do this story. As of the moment I am fine with playing either side, it is important to note that if you choose to play the Harland Team, a large amount of knowledge about the Xenomorph is a requirement and the ability to create lore about them is preferred. More details will be discussed once you have shown interest and we move forward.
Who I am looking for: I am ideally looking for someone who does not want to take a back seat to this story and just follow along. I will be creating half of this story and at the same you will be creating the other half. You will be tasked with taking your chosen team and forming it in your own image. There is no I in team, in that sense I need someone who is willing to come up with their own story and mix it with mine. With that said I am also looking for someone who really wants to see this story through, I plan to put a lot of time and effort into this story, so I am really looking for dedication here. Don't let the above statement scare you, it sounds really specific but all I am looking for is someone who isn't going to abandon the story if it has boring portions or just decides to suddenly quit. I merely want someone who will at least give it a chance through and add onto it. If thats you than please do PM me about your interest.
(This goes without saying but knowledge about the universe is a huge huge plus here, I can help you with lore but I can only do so much.)
Who I am: I am just a dude that enjoys a good story, its about as simple as I can get it here. Beyond the specific nature of this interest check I am fairly easy going and I am not strict at all. I love to write and take my favorite movies and books and create new interesting worlds within those universes.
Some simple personal rules
- No power playing - I don't like when people power play and become gods in a story. If you can't be hurt than I don't want to work with you. In that same light also no taking information from OOC and instantly letting your character know it, thats just unrealistic and annoying.
- No Mary or Gary Sues - This is not a love story to yourself as it won't be for me. I enjoy someone who takes personal responsibility in creating their characters, but the moment they become more important above all else is where I draw the line.
- No godmodding - I will not take control of your characters so I ask that you do not take control of mine. There will be instances where I am sure we will allow each other to control the others characters for small things but beyond that this is a good way to get on my bad side. Having my character follow through a door with you is one thing, having them jump in front of a Xeno as a self sacrifice is another.
- Basic grammar and spelling - simply put i just want you to be able to splel capitasize your words and put spaces and commas so that icanhave an easy time reading your post I am in no way great at grammar myselfbut aslongasican read your post without having to go back a million times thats all i ask.
- Enjoy the story - This is pretty self-explanatory but if your not loving what your writing than why are you writing it, right? Have fun with this.
Ending tidbits: There is ton more to go on about but no one wants to read all that right off the back so if your interested in this please PM me. Give me your questions, your critiques, the only good story written by two people is if those two people can communicate their problems and everything else with each other.
