Name: Duke Delroy/"Were I to say it out loud, you would turn insane" Alias: Host of Plaixare (Usually just "Plaixare")
Age: 71
Gender: Male/Unknown
Appearance: The best way for me to put it is using a reference photo [not anime] seeing as his appearence is based on a real life person.
His outfit is generally very simple. Almost always a variation of a white vest, check shirt and a pair of tatty blue dungarees. Whenever possible he is wearing a John Deere Cap
When Duke is controlled by the Demon, Plaixare, his eyes glow a dull orange and his beard literally and figuratively burns like hot coals in a fireplace. His face also turns a slight tinge of Grey. Dukes skin seems to tighten around his bones giving him an almost skeletal build for the duration.
Personality Strengths: Duke is a humble man who cares not for money nor fame. Were he to have his way, the rest of his days would be spent with a fire in the hearth and a sheepdog by his side. When he is not taken over by an ancient demon, people can quickly tell that he has good intentions in what he does. He is a great listener and has an affinity for making one open up about themselves.
Personality Flaws: The Demon, Plaixare is a cruel and sadistic being who is barely controlled by Duke. Should he mistakenly relax his hold on the being for too long he will find himself using more than excessive force.
Regular Duke does also have his flaws but not nearly as severe. Due to his old fashioned way of life he can sometimes unintentionally be sexist and or racist. He means no malice by this but it can rub some people up the wrong way.
Powers: All of these power can only be used when channeling the power of Plaixare, something he only does when extremely necessary. 1. [Inferno's Gaze] Duke can project a roaring beam of flame from his face in a straight line for roughly 20 metres or until interrupted. 2. [Purgatory's Dusk] Within a 5x5 metre dome around himself, Duke can eliminate the effects of all light sources other than those created by himself causing the area to be almost pitch black. Those outside can see in but those inside the dome may not see out. 3. [Agility of the Abyss] Duke is able to perform short range teleportation. He can disappear in a cloud of black smoke and reappear in any direction up to 10 metres away from his starting position. This can be straight up or at angles but cannot be used to pass through solid objects. 4. [Torment's Transformation] When first taken over by Plaixare, aside from his appearance altering transformation, Dukes body gains some form of weapon suited to the task ahead. This could be clawed fingers, horns, a prehensile tail or some other kind of alteration. He can only gain one modification at a time and is stuck with his choice until he takes back control of his body. These additional transformations cannot add powers or ranged attacks, they are purely tools or melee weapons.
Skills: Major 1. Farming. Since a young age Duke was working on a farm and therefore knows the correct technique for growing most common vegetables. He can also operate most simple machinery. Major 2. Stringed instruments. Duke is skilled at playing instruments including but not limited to banjos, guitars and fiddles. Major 3. Demonic tongue. Being the host of an otherworldly demon gives you all sorts of knowledge. Duke knows about some of the mystical realms and can speak fluently in demonic tongue.
Weapons: Duke carries with him a hook handled wooden cane. When taken over, the cane burns up into ashes but reforms when Duke returns. [See Power #4]
Equipment: Duke carries a tobacco pipe, a tin to hold said tobacco and a hip flask
Duke grew up on a farm in the deep south in the 1950s. He lived with his parents up until the ripe old age of 14 where he packed a bindle with his worldly belongings and decided to make his own way into the wide world. In his first years on the proverbial street, Duke lived off of busking with his banjo. He would sit on a street corner in the blazing hot sun and play until day became dusk. This routine continued for three years, three glorious years. Of course he had no luxuries in his life but he made enough money to have at least 2 meals a day and a thick blanket to sleep in at night. This all changed when one Winter night he came across a gang of Street Urchins no older than himself but all armed. They robbed him, kicking him to the ground and smashing his treasured instrument purely out of boredom. Broken and bruised, Duke crawled back to where he was staying the night and wept himself to sleep.
During this sleep a voice reached out to him through the mist of his dreams. The voice said, "embrace me . take my power . enact revenge . kill them all." When Duke woke he found himself surrounded by the bodies of the kids who had cornered him the night before. Each one maimed beyond recognition and posed, pointing at his resting place with a single outstretched finger. Some were missing limbs, others had had there faces burnt off. Those that still had a face, showed an expression of utter fear. Somehow, Duke knew he had committed these murders (COULD IT BE THE FACT THAT THEY WERE ALL POINTING AT HIM!? WHO KNOWS?)
The demon that had reached out to him had only intended to use him as a host for a single night. The plan was to siphon Duke's energy and then once it was more powerful it would move on to a new host, one with more power, more strength. That was the plan anyway. When the demon tried to leave it's host's body, something inside of Duke held on, pulled back even. Such was Duke's will that Plaixare the demon found itself unable to leave this mere mortal.
As time went by and Duke aged he began to forget this ordeal and write it off as a bad dream induced by a bad choice of mushrooms in his stew. He got on with his life and even started work in a car factory of which he worked in for 20 years. The powers that he had witnessed that night never manifested themselves again but they still lay dormant, waiting for the moment to strike out with the rage and fury of an immeasurable force trapped within an unbreakable cage.

Name: Adéwalé Amadoe Occupation: Slave, turned pirate. Age: 32 Height: 6 ft tall (1.82m) Weight: 105 kg General description of appearance:
Adéwalé is a large African-Caribbean man. His head is bald and he is clean shaven. Adéwalé wears black makeup in a tight ring around each of his eyes making him look even more intimidating than he is. On his right cheek are the letters, "S S" branded into his flesh, a cruel reminder of his life as a slave. Clothing wise, he wears regular burlap pants that reach to his ankles. On his upper half Adéwalé wears a dark blue coat made of thick cotton. Around his neck is a necklace made out of what appear to be human teeth.
Past: [DISCLAIMER] I do use some racial slurs/adult language but purely for story-telling emphasis and because such language was commonplace at the time.
Born into a life as a slave on a sugar plantation, Adewale grew up with a resentment for his masters, the Canewood family. Five generations deep, the family had run a highly successful business of importing slaves and exporting the sugar that they picked to all over the western world. As Adewale began to reach adulthood, he also fall for the young woman, Elizabeth Canewood. Elizabeth was the daughter of the head of family, Isaac Canewood. Of course, no self respecting family would allow a nigger to be married into the family and even less so if said nigger was a slave. This love could not be! The relationship could not happen. In the eyes of Master Canewood, Adewale had to disappear. This was no challenge at the time, to dispose of a man whom no-one but yourself knows exists is an easy thing to do for a man of wealth and power. But, when your daughter is also in love with said man, that adds complications. The result was an ultimatum. Elizabeth would stop seeing the nigger or she would be sent to London to stay with her uncle. Adewale would continue his duties on the plantation but not be allowed anywhere near the girl for fear of death. On hearing of the news, Adewale went into a berserk rage, ripping the throats out of of the messengers who had told him this and storming towards the great white house in which his master resided. Upon seeing this sudden display of rebellion other slave workers Adewale inspired feelings that they had never felt before, they were tired of being told what to do and angry that they had let it happen in the first place. A group of 60 men barged through the double doors and into the great hall of the building with Adewale at the helm of it all. Killing all who stood in his way, Adewale made his way to the private study of Canewood. Old Isaac never stood a chance. Adewale left the study wearing Canewood's coat and holding his two ornamental pistols.
Relations with any other pc's: None as of right now.
Possessions (includes any ships owned or captained): Two Ornate Flintlock Pistols
A large Bowie knife or period correct equivalent. Adewale is captain of ex-slaver ship, "La Blanca", and it's crew of 25 men.

The Swamp Thing is an anthropomorphic lump of vegetation. It's body, whilst humanoid, is covered in algae, moss and other plant life. With glowing red eyes and a green, skull-like face, it is easy to see why many regard the Swamp Thing as a tale to be told by the old swamp dweller drunk at a bar.

Superhuman strength and Durability
The ability to Inhabit and control plant life including it's growth. This ability is strong enough that, when connected with the ground, he can communicate with any living vegetation on the planet.
Construct creation. The swamp thing creates clones of itself from vegetable matter. These animated constructs are significantly weaker and have no thoughts of their own.
Swamp Thing's essence can abandon his body, travelling through The Green, and grow a new body in other region. This new body will be made up of plants common to the area. ie; Cactus in a desert.

His strength is directly dependant of the Health of the Green. Because of the disturbance caused by the War between the humans, Swamp Thing cannot reach his upper limits. He can still lift multiple times his body weight.
Heavy Pollution causes the Swamp Thing's strength and endurance to wither.
The body of the creature is highly flammable and, whilst a new body can be grown, this will incapacitate him.

The Green is the elemental force that connects all forms of plant life on earth and potentially the universe. Plant elementals such as Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy, and Solomon Grundy are able to experience The Green as a separate realm ruled by the Parliament of Trees. The Parliament is made up of previous elementals who have served to protect The Green.
In a secret lab hidden in the Louisiana Swamps, Bio-Chemist Alec Holland discovered a formula that would cause bio-matter to regrow. He believed that this would help solve world hunger and cure famine from areas of poverty. Before he could completely produce his solution, a rival corporation caught wind of his breakthrough and sent thugs to destroy his work. Knocking him out and detonating the lab with Holland inside, the world believed the renowned scientist to be dead. Instead, he was chosen by the Parliament of Trees to become Earth's new protector of The Green. For Thirty years The Swamp Thing was regarded a myth, akin to Bigfoot or the Yeti, but the war that is brewing between the Justice League and the Legion of Doom has caused unforeseen tremors within The Green unlike anything seen before.

Years of being the solitary protector of Plant life on Earth has left the mind of Alec Holland somewhat fractured. The Swamp Thing no longer holds much value in human life seeing most of it as a danger to The Green. For now he is on the side of "good." But what in human nature can be defined as "good", really?
The Swamp Thing has a daughter with similar powers, but he has not seen her in years so she is most likely grown up.

Not too long ago I read my first Swamp Thing story, The Root of all Evil. I really loved that book and the character of the Swamp Thing. I intend to read Saga of the Swamp Thing when I can. In my character I am channelling a bit of Dr Manhattan from the Watchmen series, in particular, the second half where he no longer cares for Earth and it's people.
