Greetings, good folk.
Call me Old Death, or Death if you prefer. My real name remains irrelevant unless we eventually become friends. I'm a twenty-five year-old female, and I've been writing for about twelve years. I struggle with severe depression and anxiety, which occasionally impacts my writing speed and frequency, but I'm working on getting that under control. I also work long days and my working hours tend to get unpredictable, so there's that as well. If that hasn't scared you off, please proceed.

Some things you should be aware of:
- I like lots of detail in my writing. Similarly, I'd prefer someone who can write in detail, someone who can create engaging content, interest and immersion. I endeavor to make my posts just as entertaining and enthralling. Also, someone who knows the difference between your/you're and their/they're would be nice. Though, since the thread title states "advanced" I'm pretty sure that's self-explanatory.
- I play characters male and female, though I've played a lot of males throughout my roleplaying "career". Not complaining at all, but it would be nice to play my own sex once in a little while. Still, I'd be more than happy to play a male if that's what you require.
- I like romance. Hell, sometimes I'm a sucker for it. But I don't like it overshadowing the entire plot, nor do I like instant romance. If there is to be romance, it should be slow to develop - a "slow burn", if you will. I promise the culmination of it all will be worth it.
- I'm busy. As I mentioned above my work schedule is highly unpredictable, plus I have other errands and hobbies to attend to aside from work. I would love to make roleplaying a priority, but at this time that's unrealistic. At the very minimum I can post once a week. Usually, it's more. I don't appreciate being harassed for posts, but a gentle check-in message is always welcome.
- Mature content. It's going to be present, since my roleplays are more than often dark in nature. Violence, gore, drug use, and profanity will more than likely be included. Hence the "18+" I've included in the title. But do let me know if there are any "triggers" I should be aware of; I'd hate to accidentally upset you. Also, because of aforementioned mature content, I only roleplay in PMs.
Brief plot descriptions:
1. You've moved to a rural town after inheriting a crumbling old mansion - once beautiful - from your grandfather. You plan to do it up and resell it because you can't imagine living in a town so far removed from what you consider civilization. You soon realize that some of the townsfolk are more than ordinary, and the town holds horrifying secrets beyond ordinary human imagination.
2. You're the child of a king. Well, until armed men led by your treacherous uncle siege the palace one night and viciously murder your parents and siblings. Using your wits and skills, you escape the palace and seek a way to reclaim what is rightfully yours, even if it means engaging the services of the land's most notorious mercenary.
3. You're an exemplary soldier, part of an expeditionary force sent to protect human colonies on other planets. Thus far, you've been a glorified security guard. But when an unknown alien force attacks the colony under your charge, you realize you now stand at the forefront of a full-blown invasion. But will the Earth authorities heed your warning, or will you remain unheard until it's too late?
4. A serviceman returns home with the weight of his experiences on his shoulders. He finds solace in a childhood friend, though old memories continue to haunt him as he begins to descend into a self-destructive spiral.
5. Your abusive spouse/asshole roommate-friend buys an advanced human-looking android for some purpose (helping around the house, providing security, etc.). But one day you return from work to find your spouse/friend dead, murdered by that android. You eventually find out that the android was not in fact at fault, but law dictates that "broken" androids who violate their programming by exhibiting traditionally human responses/behavior are due to be hunted down and disposed of. You - who believe androids have rights - decide to save it at whatever cost. (Inspired by Detroit: Become Human)
6. You're part of a rebel faction in a dark, dystopian society. A government agent is sent to find and dispatch your leader. Alternatively, you are the government agent, sent to dispatch the leader of a rebel faction. After being captured by members of the faction, the life you knew starts to unravel as you begin to see the failings and tyranny of the men you once never questioned.
7. You're a cop, newly assigned to homicide. You track a ritualistic serial killer, but eventually develop a twisted relationship with them. Alternatively, we can do a good cop/bad cop dynamic or the usual "pair of detective partners chasing a serial killer" thing.
8. You are sent to retrieve an ancient artifact from the temple of an absent god.
9. Your village is destroyed, your friends and family slaughtered by the army of an invading kingdom. You are captured, enslaved, tortured, and forced to fight for the entertainment of the masses. Can be in a traditional fantasy setting, or a space fantasy setting similar to Star Wars where royal families still exist.
10. Dark cyberpunk, like the setting of Altered Carbon or Blade Runner. Not much in the way of plot here but I'm willing to plot with someone.
11. Neo Noir. Something with a Sin City vibe. Towering skyscrapers overshadowing run-down historic buildings, femme fatales, escorts with hearts of gold, private investigators, organized crime, brutality, lots of rain and gloom...all that business. This is something I'd be open to making multiple characters for.
