And inside is even more interesting … a picture of a beautiful woman.
The start of this RP is very, very simple. Your rather eccentric Great Uncle passed away with no direct heirs. His estate was worth a fortune - billions. He had been a man of many talents. Explorer, author, inventor. He had once told you that you were his favorite - several times in fact. The first time was when you were a young boy of 6. You had been into dinosaurs. He had invited you to view his personal museum filled with all sorts of fossils. He had enraptured you for hours telling you stories about the giant reptiles that once roamed the Earth. The next time it had been pirates. Your mother told you to stop bothering him about sunken pirate treasure. And yet he laughed it off and continued to tell pirate stories. He often gave you messages that were encrypted and made treasure hunts. He was just that sort of man. Enigmatic.
He encouraged you to follow in his footsteps, much to the chagrin of your parents. As you entered your early teens they told him that you needed to start growing up. He told them "Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution." He was quoting Einstein.
That was the last time you saw him. Oh, he sent you the usual birthday gifts. But he stopped sending cards. He used to always send cards with cryptograms. This days were gone.

So there you were, with all your siblings, parents, family members you hardly knew, your Great Uncle’s business partners - and their attorneys. And slowly the fortune was given away. Of particular note was that his home and a modest trust fund to cover its maintenance and a perpetual income was left to his caretaker/butler, Mr Jonathan Whitmore.

Jonathan Whitmore
You were left with a micro USB flash drive and a short letter. The short letter read:
For all the cards you never got.
For all the stories never told.
Forgive and live
Brave and bold.
Within the flash drive were tons of files, but one folder popped up first labelled Read Me First. The first file in the folder was a snapshot of a birthday card. It was for your 13th birthday - the first one he missed. The next picture was Christmas of the same year. He hadn’t forgotten - not yours, not any of your family. The cards had simply never made it to you. And as always - each of yours had hidden messages.
You looked up as there was some commotion. Your Great Uncle’s old partners were raising a fuss. They kept saying that couldn’t be all. And yet, that was the end of the Will.
Your world is about to change as you continue to decipher the cards. You will find yourself skipping to the year the last Will was written and discover a hidden message.
“Go to Jonathan. You can trust him with your life. My attorney knows about this last part. But it was left for you to discover. A treasure hunt of sorts. For you see, to you I have left … Everything. When you see him, he will raise a fist to you. He won’t do that at reading.
Stage 1: Raise the left hand, palm outward to the person being addressed. Keep the thumb tucked to the side of the palm, pointing upward. Clench the index and pinky fingers as if making a fist and extend the middle and ring fingers vertically. The gesture should be made at the same time as speaking the "graaaaagnah" part of the verbal Universal Greeting.
Stage 2: Extend the index, ring and pinky fingers. Curl the middle finger and thumb towards the palm of the hand so that they touch at right-angles, with the side of the thumb's tip pressed against the nail of the middle finger. This should be done in time with the verbalization "wheep".
Stage 3: Clench the index, middle and ring fingers. Extend the thumb and pinky fingers so that the gesture resembles a horizontally-flipped 'L'. Shake the hand sideways twice, in time to the syllables of "ni ni"
Stage 4: As the final "bong" is spoken, open your hand out so that all digits are extended and slightly splayed, as if to make a handprint in clay. Pause momentarily and then press the thus-opened hand against that of the person you are addressing, who themselves should have a likewise open palm.
It was the Universal Greeting from the old original Transformers animated movie. Why? Because it was just the sort of obscure thing none of his old partners would have recognized.
“Jonathan’s hand won’t be empty. His hand will hold the key to my greatest treasure. This I leave to you. Take good care of her.”
++++++++++++++
Your character should be a young man, 18-25, still single. How his life has turned out since his Great Uncle became estranged from the family is up to you. Did you choose to pursue adventure and such despite your family’s wishes? Or did they stifle your imagination and turn you into some office flunky - or worse?
