So, I've been thinking about DMing a Pathfinder game recently. But none of the modules seem all that fun to me. As classic as the whole 'you meet in a tavern and go on amazing quests for epic loot' theme is, it's pretty stale. So instead I've decided to put a twist on the whole party thing.

Instead of being a hero who fights for justice, you're going to be an underling who fights for their evil overlord out of fear, respect or the urge to cause utter chaos. You'll start on the bottom tier of the overlord's armies and after some pillaging and hero slaying, work your way up to the top echelons of his regime and maybe even overthrow the bastard.

As the title suggests, character constrictions would confine your characters to being of the evil alignment. Additionally, I would highly prefer you make a more 'villainous' race. Orcs, Kobolds, Goblins and Drow all come to mind, but feel free to pick any number of other 'evil' races for your characters. Anything that you think an evil overlord bent on ravaging the lands would fill his armies with would do well. There are basically no restrictions on class, aside from alignment locked ones. You may not be able to play a shining Paladin of good, but you certainly can play a bloodthirsty paladin looking to sacrifice things to his evil god.

So, who's up for a bit of raiding?

Awesome. Any idea what you might wanna play? I'm gonna compile a list and put it in the main post so there's no class overlap for people who wanna avoid it.

Somewhat interested in playing a LE kobold cleric (unless someone else wants to play the class - could go antipaladin for instance). What post length you expect?

Eh. Casual. A paragraph or two will suffice, but you're welcome to go over that if you want.

They're more or less the same thing. Just with class balancing/new classes.

So an evil campaign? Heh, I ran one of these before. Hardest part is keeping the pc's from killing each other. Though I prefer 3.5, I'm interested.

Huh. If I knew 3.5 was so popular, I would've looked into that instead.

We only need 1-2 more people.

If we were using 3.5 I could probably find two or three more to join, Pathfinder is more widely used, But more ppl know 3.5 system due mostly because it's older. Btw, what are we using for sheet making? Mythweave?

What the hell, I'll switch it over to 3.5e. I'm looking for a five person party, if you're gonna issue invites. I may be convinced to go over or under, but I've played in a 8 person campaign before and it's just tedious.

We'll be using Orokos for rolls, Mythweavers for sheets and we'll be doing a 20 point buy.

Couple of house rules ahead of time, Kobolds and Goblins don't get shafted as hard in terms of stats. Kobolds get -2 in str but +2 in int, goblins get +2 in dex but -2 in cha. Orcs only take -2 in cha and int and maintain their +4 in str.

Rangers choose their animal companions as if they were a druid. Never saw the point in having to play second banana as mr. forester himself in terms of animals.

Kool.

I'll see if I can get sikako and others into this, though he has been quiet since the site changed. He's been heavy into mythweave with the rest of the band I used to play with. >.>

Btw, if you do change over too 3.5, might want to set up what books are allowed and not allowed. (cause there's a shit ton of sources for it, Link)

Honestly, this is my first real time DMing. I'm not extremely experienced with the game, so I'd like to stick with core. Although I may be convinced to let some books in, provided they're not rife with cheese.

Sticking with core it's probably for the best then. Maybe the supplement rulebook.

Not really sure what I';m going to use class wise myself though. And if you need any help on the DM side, I still remember a few sources that will help if you need/want them. http://www.dinglesgames.com/tools/MonsterGenerator/dnd35/

I'd offer to Co-DM but we're still low on players. :P

The tabletop section isn't exactly the new Casual. Plus, it seems people don't enjoy playing evil characters. Which confuses me, because doing whatever you want and killing whoever you want sounds pretty liberating. :p
