I'm always up for good 1x1 rp so I thought I'd throw up some of my plots/characters and see if anyone would be interested in any of them. I can rp casual or advanced, depending on my muse, my partner, the plot, and the situation. I tend to lean towards fantasy or historical fantasy settings, but I can also cover other settings and genres, or just get outright weird. I tend to prefer things that are a bit grittier rather than fluffy and happy; however, though there aren't really any subjects and topics I outright refuse to touch on in rps, there are several that I refuse to glorify, or romanticize in any way, and if present in the rp need to have a good reason for being there. If you have any questions feel free to ask, but mostly it's a common sense thing.
I'm not huge on romance or smut, but I'm not opposed to it either; if it develops I'm fine with that, but I don't want it to be forced. I'm not opposed to any gender pairings, but being a gay male I am gonna be most comfortable with- and lean towards- MxM, especially if there is any smut involved. Overall, though, I'm really more about the story than forcing character relationships, so we'll see what happens.
So, onto the plots.
Genre(s): fantasy/supernatural- possibly historical Plot: Muse A has been having a hard time lately- maybe they lost their job, or had a death in the family, or things have just not been looking good. One day, they come across a cat that is injured and near-dead, and despite their own misfortune, they decide to take it in. After taking it home and nursing it for a couple days, the cat reveals that it is a bakeneko- a long-lived magical cat with the ability to take the shape of a human. In return for the human's kindness, the bakeneko agrees to use its magic to help them get their life back on track. Maybe what Muse A needs it some petty revenge or a slight change of luck, or just a good friend. Characters: Human [or perhaps some other sort of slightly-magical creature] (Muse A); Injured Bakeneko (Muse B)
Genre(s): supernatural, historical Plot: Sometime in the 1800s or early 1900s. In a small town, there is an old, somewhat dilapidated- but still elegant- mansion, which the locals call cursed on account of the misfortune that surrounds it and its family- strange accidents, murders, disappearances, the the fact that most animals won't go near it. variant 1 - You are not particularly superstitious (or maybe you are and don't care right now) and, being new to the area and somewhat desperate, leap at the chance to become a caretaker/servant at the house in exchange for room and board. The owners of the house are an older woman, a widow named Mrs. Monica Kildare, and her often-sickly nephew Elijah. They seem friendly and normal enough, but the longer you stay, the more the pair- and the mansion- seem to be a bit... off. variant 2 - You inherit a large sum of money as well as an old family estate when your elderly aunt passes away, along with a strange necklace and a note stating to keep it on while in the house. Along with the house is its only servant- the butler and groundskeeper, Elliot Greene, who seems friendly, loyal, and trustworthy enough. However, the more you learn about the house, its history, and Elliot, the less it all seems to add up. Characters: 1- servant (Muse A); Elijah (Muse B); Monica (extra) 2 - heir (Muse A); Elliot (Muse B)
Genre(s): fantasy Plot: Muse A is an important noble: the prince or princess of a powerful kingdom, and the only heir(ess) to the throne. They have grown up practically carefree, knowing and learning of the weight that will someday rest on their shoulders as sovereign but for now enjoying the freedom of youth and luxury. Little did they know, however, that there was a price upon their head- not until there was an assassination attempt on them and their family. Unsure of the motive behind the attack, and the true target(s), Muse A's parents choose to send them into hiding until the danger has passed. They enlist a commoner (Muse B) to care for the prince(ss) until that time, the only person who knows Muse A's true identity, and is tasked with keeping them safe at all costs. In the meantime, Muse A must learn to live like a commoner, to care for themself without the luxury of servants and wealth, and keep their identity a secret; meanwhile, Muse B must learn to live with a pampered noble, keeping them happy, safe, and- most importantly- secret. Characters: prince or princess (Muse A); commoner (Muse B)
Genre(s): fantasy or historical Plot: One of the many sad truths of nobility is that nobles very rarely get the opportunity to marry for love. Both muses are young nobles, perhaps of the same kingdom or of different ones, who are about to come of age. Their parents recognize that a marriage between them would be beneficial, and thus make the necessary arrangements. The two have never met before (or have only fleetingly), and only get the opportunity to get to know each other days before their wedding. Perhaps love will bloom between them, or they will at least come to terms with their situation; or, perhaps not. *in theory, one muse is male, and the other female, and they are to be married to each other. However, it's possible that only one of our muses is the character that's to be married (to an NPC of sorts), and any sort of romance is between them and a different character (perhaps a sibling, or servant?). Characters: noble (Muse A); other noble, or servant (Muse B)
Genre(s): supernatural, possibly historical Plot: Muse A grew up never knowing their parents; their father vanished soon after they were born, and their mother died when they were young. Despite this, they were happy- adopted and cared for by a good family/relatives, always in good health, and good things seemed to follow them. This fact was not missed by a darker entity (Muse B) that came into contact with Muse A. Muse B, an archdemon, immediately recognizes Muse A for what they are: a Nephilim, half-angel. The demon realizes that Muse A's latent angelic power to be the source of their happiness- and possibly the key to getting rid of the other demons that stand in Muse B's way. But first, they have to make Muse A trust them. Characters: Nephilim (Muse A); Archdemon (Muse B)
Genre(s): horror, apocalyptic Plot: One day, everyone on earth died, all at once. Every single one. Then, a little while later, they all got back up, changed. Most humans became shambling, twitching, brainless monstrosities with only one desire: to feed. They eat anything organic in their path- plants, animals, and even a select few objects, if they're vaguely digestible. These are the undead- the brain dead, at least, who have lost all sense of themselves besides the most basic instincts, senses, and motor functions. However, a few people- very, very, very few- were luckier. No one escaped the plague whole- everyone was changed in some way- but some people got back up with their sense of self. They have lost pieces of themselves- hearing, sight, sense of pain. They look different. They might be stronger, or faster. They don't remember exactly who they used to be. They are not human anymore. But they know what they are, and they are desperate to fight.
Muse A and Muse B are two of the few people who managed come back from the plague as people. In fact, they are the only "humans" that either has come across since Doomsday. They have their differences- maybe they were enemies before- but they're also each others' only chance at survival. Characters: two survivors
Dude- like being a kid in a candy store. I'll have one of all of them!
You still up for playing in this venue here? Or is your dance card full? I see you've not bumped this so maybe you just got so many hits it didn't make sense to put it in the public eye once more.??

I actually just got busy irl and stopped getting on here for a while, especially since there wasn't really any activity :') you're the only response tbh. I'm probably still up to do something if you are though lol. I just may not always be suuuuper active every day, just started a new job so my muse is a bit lower.
:) I'm not super active either - work a lot of hours and sometimes, life just up and bites me in the arse.
Sounds grand! We can meander toward a story. I shall PM you, (or we can continue conversation here) to work out the details. What we'd like to do and how and all that. Then jump into something and make it work.
