Hello, everyone.
This place looks really promising. A friend from my old creative writing class referred me to it, and he also gave me some pointers.
So here I am, taking that first shakey step inside.
I'm a private person, but I can divulge a few nuggets upfront:
-Male.
-American.
-College-educated.
-A few decades' worth of experiences that are just dying to be fleshed out. That is one way I like to roleplay my characters: drawing upon my personal experiences and using them to enrich a character's part in a story.
I'm hoping to get started right away, so I suppose I should check out the Interest Checks area. But for those GMs fishing for fresh meat, here are some genres that I like:
-Fantasy
-Magical
-Medieval (from lowly peasantry to pompous nobility)
-Drama
-Mystery
-Military Life
-Slice of Life
-Mecha/Big Robots
-Angel/Demons (think Diablo games)
-Dragons (oh, boy I love dragons...)
-Steampunk
-Probably forgetting a few...
I've also garnered a few years of tabletop roleplaying, like D&D, Pathfinder, Dread, Fiasco, and Blades in the Dark. I also thoroughly enjoyed the tabletop miniature wargames called Warmachine and its wild counterpart, Hordes.
And if I listed all of the games I've played, well, this post might reach some kind of word limit! But I am a sucker for the classics, I'll say that much.
Anyway, I hope this makes for a decent introducion. I look forward to meeting you all and learning how to write together, and tell our stories.
