Before the Seven...
Before the horrors of the Universal War...
There was the Concordance.
It has been many thousands of years since the First Conquest, when the Conquering King breached the gates of heaven and inherited all of Creation. In the eons that followed, many others followed in his footsteps, and were rewarded by the Master of the Universe with fragments of the Key of Creation. Wielding the power of Gods, the Inheritors of the First Conquest, the Demiurges, forged a golden civilization, with the red city of Throne at its heart. However, their age has dwindled and a new age dawns.
You are among the second generation of Demiurges. Whether you are successor to one of the star-crowned kings of Throne, a new arrival to the Red City blessed by the King of Kings, or have somehow stolen the secret star-fire of the Gods for yourself, it is of little consequence. The universe-spanning civilization your forebears built has now shows its age, as it has begun to fray at the seams. Zoss, the Conquering King, sits idle in the Concordance, his attention diverted by matters beyond even your understanding. The Demiurges plot and bicker amongst themselves, devising strange and terrible new arts and sorceries. Many have joined forces to construct the Magus Gates, portals into other universes that can be activated by Keys. Rumors of a Second Conquest are stirring, and the entire multiverse sits ready for the taking.
There are battles to be fought, enemies to be slain, and alliances to be forged. What will you choose? Will you be shaped by the world, or become a shaper? Will you choose to be a King?

"Here lies the domain of the wielders of names,
No bound or lay-line encircles it,
For from step to step,
They span the span, aft and fore,
They are world straddlers, and their stride is shod with fire."

Reposted for Advanced, figured I'd give it a shot over here.
Hey yall. This is my attempt at a KILL SIX BILLION DEMONS roleplay. If you're not familiar with the comic, I recommend just looking it up online and reading it. It's great, and not especially long. I can do my best to explain the finer points, but you may struggle to grasp the overall vibe if you aren't familiar with the source material.
In any case, our RP will be set before the Universal War that ended with the Pact of the Seven-Part World, and the handful Demiurges that currently rule creation. We will be playing as second-generation Demiurges, mostly the successors to those that were the comrades and disciples to Zoss, the Conquering King. Our characters are no less powerful than their predecessors, but their power is not tempered by wisdom or experience. It is still the Golden Age of Throne, but for how much longer, none can say for sure.
Given the nature of Keys and how they work, primarily only Humans and Servants will be able to be player characters. Devils weren't tolerated by Demiurges to hold keys, and Angels wouldn't want them by design, so playing one of those characters would be somewhat difficult in this RP. That said, I'm not totally opposed to the idea.
Are you ready to play as a world-ending god-tier badass, whose only competition comes from their fellow Kings? Or will you choose to remain as you are? Peasant!
