"You've been here before... but this time things are different. This time you are the hunter, and the Backrooms your prey..."
So the premise of this roleplay is quite simple. So simple as a matter of fact, that I won't bother with an overly long introduction section. Basically what I'm looking for in this 1x1 is someone willing to play the secondary super-soldier who has also been sent into this nigh-infinite liminal hellscape alongside my character by the eponymous Watterson Foundation to retrieve things known as Artifacts. Artifacts are, simply put, anomalous objects or beings that inhabit the various floors of the Backrooms but either do not pose a threat to - or can otherwise aid - humanity at large, unlike the majority of Entities wandering the other levels. These can range from things such as a psychic cat who will give people readings in exchange for meat, to almond water with miraculous healing properties, to the ever present - yet highly random in terms of actual effect -electrical outlets that dot the mold speckled walls. As far as specifics, we'll be using a combination of sources, which I will list below.
The wiki for general information, inspiration, and such: The Backrooms Wiki.
And this CYOA here, the last two pages of which we will be using for both our character's gear: The Backrooms CYOA + Slayer DLC.
We do not need to stick to established levels, objects, and entities of course, but I do ask that we stick to the equipment listed in the CYOA for the sake of ease and convenience. Finally, while our character's main goal is to collect Artifacts, we can have other goals as well. These can be anything you like. Also, as an extra addition, my expectations for this will be rather lax. I am entirely fine with one-liners provided they give me something to work with. I am also fine with posting once every week or so, so long as the RP is actually going somewhere.
Appearance A basic description of your character's appearance goes here. Think of this as a military dossier and keep it simple. Only the required details.
Equipment Your character's equipment goes here. Do note that each of our characters gets a standard kit by default, which will consist of the following items from the CYOA. All other equipment must be purchased using the points provided in the Super-Soldier section. Feel free to structure this section as you like.

I'll be posting my character sheet in a bit. Details regarding the plot can be worked out via PM. Also yes, I'd prefer if this was done over PM if possible.
Appearance Male, 5'10 and 196.7 pounds, with dark brown eyes a shaved head and muscular physique. Primarily of Asian/African American descent with traces of Native American and Pacific Islander as well. Face and body are both heavily scarred from pre-conversion tours in the Afghan War. Epsilon-One's left arm and leg had to be amputated as well, and were eventually replaced by advanced cybernetics in accordance with company policy.
Equipment
Default Kit
Hyperion Armor:The single most advanced piece of survival technology currently produced by humanity, the Hyperion Armor is more an entire integrated fighting platform, combining the protection and complex electronic systems of the Bulwark with automated Formula X-3005-S injectors that integrate its nanite technology with the wearer on a cellular level. No one has properly tested the armor as an entire package yet, since only a few still exist, but the armor can theoretically go so far as to bring its users back from the dead.
Ammunition Backpack:While the ammunition backpack itself does not use any technology that isn't widely available, the concept required a significant amount of engineering. Coming with interchangeable feeders and hoppers for every known type of munition available, the ammo backpack can accommodate any weapon that relies on reloads, from 7.62mm to laser cannon power feeds to Kraken micro-rockets, this device lets its user put down a withering barrage of firepower without pause.
HyperMAP:Built on similar technology as the Portable Scranton Reality Anchor, the Hyperdimensional Multispectral Analysis Package, or HyperMAP, can piece the hyperdimensional layout of the Backrooms to project a diagram of all terrain within one hundred meters of its user's position with a 96% accuracy rate. This is typically displayed via an external over-the-shoulder projection module, though it can be configured to appear as an element of the Hyperion's HUD if need be. With this an operative can find out which rooms are safe to enter, which lead to other levels, and the relative direction of any noises heard. The HyperMAP does not do anything to stop the Backrooms from changing its geometry however, but it can see these changes in real-time, granting users an unprecedented level of forewarning as a result.
Fists:Always available, very versatile, and never runs out of ammunition. Rip and tear through enemies or punch through concrete walls with ease.
Kraken Pistol:The "Kraken" line of ballistic weapons is the next leap forward in weapons technology, incorporating electrochemical propellants, caseless ammunition, magnetic impellers, and gyrojet rockets into every shot. The Kraken Pistol alone fire hypersonic .75 caliber high-explosive rounds in a 12-round magazine that can stop a charging rhino in its tracks... by blowing it to pieces.
Krakengun:The standard implementation from which all other Kraken weapons spring from, the Krakengun is a fully automatic assault rifle (in the loosest definition of the term) firing .75 cal armor piercing high-explosive rounds. Each magazine holds a whopping sixty rounds and field tests have shown it demolishing concrete walls with ease before doing the same to the targets taking cover behind them.
Kraken Grenade:The Kraken interpretation of the humble fragmentation grenade, this design incorporates lethal improvements. If targets do not die from the hypervelocity shrapnel accelerated by integrated magnetic impellers, they most certainly would from the incredible pressure wave created by the electrochemical high-explosive charge.
Miscellaneous Gear
Lock Release Gun:Also known as a snap gun, this piece of equipment allows its user to bypass most tumbler locks without extensive training in lockpicking. Simply inserting the device and pulling the trigger will be more than enough to gain entry into most rooms.
Waterproof Matches:An underappreciated method of starting fires, these matches function in all weather and double as fuel. The carrying case holds fifty of them.
MRE:Meals, ready-to-eat, are pre-packaged and preserved food items created for military use. In this case Epsilon-One has been provided a specially crafted version, which is more appetizing and less likely to cause stomach problems than the standard variant. The kit also comes with a built-in heating mechanism, though it can be eaten straight out of the packaging in a pinch. It also comes with powdered drinks, but operatives will need to locate their own water source if they wish to make use of them.
Military Equipment
Thermite Grenade:Thermite grenades ignite a metal powder and oxide mix to create a brief burst of extreme heat capable of melting straight through metal supports. Additionally, it does not explode, and thus avoids giving away an operative's position. Furthermore, with careful placement operatives can create a blazing inferno that torches multiple rooms in one go. Epsilon-One has been provided with six of these.
C4 Charge:These so-called "plastic" explosives resemble slabs of wax. Hard and translucent when cold, these explosives warm up when kneaded, and can be molded into various shapes. Highly stable normally yet devastating when detonated. From traps to simple demolition jobs, to wiring up one's entire supply together for a suicidal last stand, the possibilities for employing C4 rely solely on an operative's imagination and the availability of detonators. Epsilon-One has been given four 500-gram blocks and twenty meters of det cord along with a simple detonator.
