Introduction: Welcome to "Fallout: Echoes of the Void," a unique roleplaying experience that blends the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout with the mind-bending cosmic horror of Lovecraft and the thrilling multiverse adventures of Doctor Who. In this game, you'll take on the role of survivors in a shattered world, exploring the ruins of civilization and uncovering the dark secrets that lie beneath the surface.

Setting:

Your journey begins on Fallout Earth, a devastated planet struggling to recover from the ravages of nuclear war. The familiar landscapes of the Fallout games are your starting point, but this is only the beginning of your adventure. As you explore the wasteland, you'll discover hidden pre-war ruins, encounter strange anomalies, and uncover clues that hint at a greater cosmic mystery lurking on the edge of reality.

Gameplay: "Fallout: Echoes of the Void" blends freeform roleplaying with light tabletop-inspired mechanics for a dynamic experience. You'll create unique characters with backstories, skills, and motivations, shaping the narrative with your choices. As you explore the wasteland and beyond, dice rolls will help determine the success of your actions, adding an extra layer of thrill and consequence.
Your journey begins on Fallout Earth, but your adventures may lead you to strange new worlds and alternate realities. Uncover ancient alien ruins, discover gateways to distant galaxies, or cross paths with The Captain, a mysterious multiverse traveler seeking to unravel cosmic secrets.

Prepare to face the horrors of the cosmos, unravel the mysteries of the multiverse, and fight for survival in a world where reality itself is coming apart at the seams.

Multiple playable races: Humans, Ghouls, Super-mutants and Synths Gen 3 are playable races that you can create your character as each with their respective bonuses and downfalls.

Cosmic Horror: As you delve deeper into the mysteries of "Fallout: Echoes of the Void," you'll begin to encounter elements of cosmic horror. Ancient cults, eldritch artifacts, and whispers of incomprehensible entities lurking in the void will draw you into a darker, more unsettling narrative. You'll need to confront not only the dangers of the wasteland but also the creeping dread of realizing humanity's insignificance in the face of the vast, uncaring multiverse.

Alternate Doctor Who Elements: The familiar figure of the Doctor takes a thrilling twist in "Fallout: Echoes of the Void." Instead of the Doctor's name he adopts The Captain as the title and instead of the John Smith name he is Jack Harkness, in this universe, the essence of the Time-Lord hero inhabits the charismatic form of Captain Jack Harkness! Expect flamboyant style, cosmic adventure, and a touch of the Doctor's brilliance, but with a dash of Jack's unpredictable flair. While familiar Whovian elements may be present, this Doctor isn't bound by Earth's history, leaving the Who-verse ripe for exploration and surprises.

Wider Map: Your journey begins in the scorched landscape of Fallout Earth, but don't let borders limit you. The wasteland you explore stretches far beyond the United States. Players can forge their paths in distant corners of the devastated world, uncovering secrets that lie beyond iconic Vault-Tec experiments. Be prepared, however, for different challenges and mysteries as you venture further afield.

Road Leads Off-Planet and Off Universe: This is where the cosmic horror truly unfolds. Earth may be your starting point, but it's merely a stepping stone into the unfathomable depths of the multiverse. Prepare to encounter realms beyond imagination and realities that defy understanding. The boundaries of space and time will blur, drawing you into a cosmic dance with the unknown.

Collaborative Storytelling: At its core, "Fallout: Echoes of the Void" is a collaborative storytelling experience. It will provide the framework of the setting and the central mystery, but it's up to you, the players, to shape the narrative through your actions and decisions. I will adapt the story to your choices, creating a dynamic and immersive world that responds to your characters' presence.
You'll have the freedom to explore the wasteland, forge alliances, uncover secrets, and ultimately shape the fate of the multiverse itself. Your characters will be the heart of the story, driving the action and determining the outcome of this cosmic horror tale.

game open: If you're ready to embark on a mind-bending journey through the post-apocalyptic wasteland and beyond, then "Fallout: Echoes of the Void" will fit that itch. Prepare to face the horrors of the cosmos, unravel the mysteries of the decaying multiverse, and fight for survival in a world where reality itself is coming apart at the seams.
Get ready to create your character, step into the wasteland, and discover the truth that lies beyond the void. The fate of the multiverse is teetering on the edge...

18+ Warning: The world of "Fallout: Echoes of the Void" is a bleak and unforgiving place. This game will contain mature themes, prepare for unsettling content, eventual psychological and paranormal horror, and cosmic horrors designed to challenge and disturb adult players, and graphic situations unsuitable for minors. This game is intended for a mature audience only!!

I know it's Cosmic Horror, but how grimdark is the Lovecraftian stuff in the RP? Completely hopeless for individuals and Humanity?

Excellent question! Yes i do intend to stay faithful to the core of cosmic horror, which will be about confronting the insignificance of humanity, and for that matter all life beyond earth (Cause there'll be aliens) against vast, uncaring, pre-temporal forces that lurk in the 'before' of all things.

However, in this game your characters will absolutely face despair and terrifying truths. But, this is a journey through the cosmic void, dictated by your character's choices, whether it be to succumb to the horror or to resist even in the face of maddness. How individuals and even humanity as a whole respond to these horrors is up to ya'll. There may be glimmers of light in the darkness, but you'll have to fight to uncover them... In the end, it's what made for me the fallout series so enticing as a kid and even as a teen... now i just made it vaster... and harsher... cus i got problems 😝😝...

Glimmers of light in the darkness sound good, yes.

Will this RP have a Discord server?

Edit: Fair warning, I might not have the time for this yet!

No worries ma pal! once or twice a week checking in is fine if you don't have time, discord server was a thought but i wanted to see if ppl wanted that or there would be ppl who would prefer to just keep it on the forum. I'm up for creating one...

Oh speaking of time, i forgot to mention in the interest check:

Using GPT or GPT-like bot for aid with writing is encouraged but not mandatory for anyone who might face writing blocks, or time and personal life constraints.

- In fact i think if i make a discord server i'll try to even set one up with discord cause that's a thing we can do now... ðŸĪŠ

So for anyone wondering, the game is already prepped, i'm just waiting for at least 2 players minimum to start the game, the link is not in the announcement, it is two comments up this one. Also i might just make a discord server for the game, but for a group of only 3-4 max i didn't think it was needed.

Also...

LOL! 𝕐 𝔞 𝕊 !! Dunwich is definitely going to be part of this game, In fact lots of plot points from the Fallout universe and fandom are going to be here, already prepped many plans for that, and the Dunwich mystery is one of those rabbit holes into the lovecraftian of this story... without spoiling too much beyond what a fallout lore fan would be familiar with that is.

Also, for anyone who is in the know and asking, yes there is an actual Fallout d20 ttrpg core rulebook, i did not, however, wanted to use that because i wanted only some minimal custom mechanics that would only be used sparingly in battles and some occasional puzzle solving, and i wanted this game to be mostly free-form. so yeah... final disclaimer... lol.

So to everyone, i'm sorry to say, that i'm thinking at this point to maybe cancel this game... it has been up for a while now, and though i appreciate the interest, nothing solidified, so mayhaps i'll try and open a game later down the road... idk... I'll still wait a couple more days or so, and then ask a mod to delete this post and the game page? who knows...

Take this with a grain of salt, but I believe a part of it is due to you encouraging the use of Chat GPT to write posts for you.

The way I see it, forum roleplaying involves writing as the core activity. In comparison, AI art is fine since images are simply garnish, but if you start using bots to replace parts or all of the writing too, why... even bother doing it in the first place?

But hey, I may be not making sense, in which case, that's fair too.

Ah fair enuff... i get the reluctance... and i completely get how it sounds...

But i wasn't encouraging in the sense that people have to replace their passion with a machine, my meaning was merely to be able to participate if they wanted to even if life stood in their way.

For example, you have a bad day and don't feel like doing anything, but you are curious to see what happens next, but you don't have the mental energy to write much. Chat bot steps in interprets your intended wishes and the story, and plays for you and you can make minimal adjustments.

The example is from personal life experience...

Definitely did not want to come across as undervaluing traditional roleplaying, in fact if i did that, i wouldn't even still be working on my own ttrpg game book.

But enough of that, sure... anyway, if anybody changes their mind at the moment i'm in myriad reality and busy with life so don't know that this game is coming to life anytime soon... Just ping the hell out of me if there truly is any interest.
