Seeing if anyone would be interested in a Genshin Impact based story, set as the title says, in Inazuma. The story will be based around an original story, taking some liberties with how things in the world work, and perhaps ignoring some known lore as I will admit to not knowing absolutely everything about the world. (I'm currently doing my best to survive the dialogue of the Aranara quests).
The Story:
mood
The Usurper waged war on her own people. Tore away their aspirations, their hopes, their dreams. Branded those who did not willingly submit as traitors, criminals... rebels. And then one day, the so called 'Almighty' decided they changed their mind, to simply take it all back. How can you take back the suffering, the pain and the fear, the death... And all for what, Eternity? How does a God drive their nation to civil war, and then expect they can simply take it back.
These days, the skies of Inazuma are ever darker. Storms are more frequent, and the people are quieter. There is less laughter in the air, less joy. People are afraid to dream, to hope, to aspire to something greater. The scars left in the wake of the Vision Hunt Decree will not fade so easily, and today, in every corner of our nation, there is a whisper on the breath of the wind. Spoken in fear, and yet in hope.
The White Fox Comes.
Rules:
Your characters will navigate this story and make decisions within it that will decide their place within it. The happenings of this story may be greater than your characters small part in it, though that of course, depends who you play.
Your decisions within this story will dictate the part you play in the story. What side will you take, what stories will you discover, and what unknown history will you uncover?
Playable characters will be limited to characters who realistically would take part in such an event. Most of this story will take place in Inazuma. Leaders from other nations are not likely to intervene personally, nor are they likely to send any form of official support as it will be more or less a political issue the nation is dealing with. So really it comes down to common sense of what characters would realistically take part in this story. Obviously any characters from Inazuma are welcome. Mondstadt being the nation of freedom, just about anyone there could go (Except like... Klee, Diona, sorry Loli Gang but I don't think it makes any sense for any of them to be here except Sayu). Leadership of other nations however would be unlikely to show up, such as Ningguang, Nahida, or Neuvillette. And characters bound to their nation, such as Xiao or Xianyun, probably not.
Just use common sense. And also understand that your choice of character may affect the party in the long run. For example, what happens if the party in general wants to side against the Shogun... but you're playing Kujou Sara? The group's choices must realistically reflect its members.
OCs will be considered, just understand they should have a close tie to the story to be involved. An Inazuma Samurai for example. Not 'A Photographer from Fontaine who was curious what's going on'.
Also, if you choose to play a character like The Traveler, or Ei, understand your part in the story will be a bit bigger than it otherwise would be.
'Advanced' Roleplay:
I know people often have differing ideas of what is considered Advanced Roleplay. I've seen people get angry that a roleplay labeled as Advanced didn't live up to their standards. So let me be clear about why this is being posted in Advanced and what is expected from you, and what you should expect from the roleplay.
I expect anyone taking part in this to have reasonable knowledge of the world of Genshin Impact, the nation of Inazuma, and the character they choose to play. This is not necessarily a roleplay for someone who 'just started playing and thinks the game is neat'. Especially since there are a good few spoilers about the main story that will be brought up in this story.
I expect anyone taking part in this to have a full grasp on the English language and be able to formulate their own thoughts and put them into full paragraphs that drive the story forward, and realistically represent their character. This also means no one liners, and that when there is enough going on, that you write more than just a couple paragraphs. There is no real post-size requirement, but just know that if your norm is one or two paragraphs, this might not be the kind of writing for you.
I expect anyone taking part in this to be dedicated to the story for the long-run, however long it takes to reach an end to the story. If the roleplay begins, and a week later, only two people have posted, and the other two haven't been online in three days... that's a problem. I'm not demanding nonstop posts all day every day. But I am expecting dedicated people who are interested in taking part in the story, and have the availability to make that happen.
Will be looking for about 3-4 players for this story, while I will control NPCs and not really have a main character within the story, but rather effectively DM the world around you.
