I know I just posted an RP idea a few days ago and it hasn't even started up yet but I had this idea and wrote up the Entire OOC post and made my characters already, so I just wanted to see if anybody was interested.

The Premise of the RP is that in 2021 a fascist political party has taken control of the Canadian government by abusing the fear a large terrorist attack in Toronto produced. They enacted a federal police force similar to the Gestapo in Nazi Germany and have been using the fear of the public to stay in power. The RPers will be playing as a group called "the Free" (Yes there is a reason behind it that involves the death of a 15 year old kid at a protest that the FEA didn't get in trouble for even though they shot the kid with lethal firearms) who fight against the FEA by using vandalism to simultaneously spread the message of the FEA's corruption and hinder the FEA's abilities by damaging cameras and police vehicles among other things.

Sound interesting to anybody? I can put up the whole OOC post (I tried to keep it short) in this thread if anyone wants to see and/or criticize it.

Also, sorry this post is kind of short/disorganized, it's 2 am where I'm at and I'm more than a little tired.

Are these fascists into the whole racial supremacy thing? Or are they pushing a different sort of rhetoric, like the über religious fascists in V for vendetta?

They're not racial supremacists (But you won't see a dark skinned FEA officer very often) I wouldn't call them religious fascists because they don't force their religion onto others, however they are heavily anti-Muslim, but that's mostly just because people are stupid and afraid of terrorists and most believe that all terrorists are Muslim. the fascist party took that stance more because it got them a lot of support after the bombing in Toronto, not because they actually think Muslims were responsible, their goal is simply to cultivate the public's fear into support for their party so they can stay in control, if people thought all terrorists were catholic they would have taken an anti-catholic stance.

(Please note that the opinions of the FEA are not my own.)

Oh, Canada.

Sure, I'm interested in doing something like this, but I've got a few questions about "The Free." Are they an organized separatist faction, a loosely connected insurrection, or a single cell of rebels? I mean, how organized are they?

I know that you've probably answered these questions in your OOC post, but I'm just curious.

It would be foolish and presumptuous to assume tha their views are your views.

I just want to know what they're about. What propaganda they're pushing. Stuff like that really helps me to determine wether or not I can craft a character to compliment the setting.

@Daemon: I understand completely, I'm always happy to help, the basics are that they are Anti-Muslim (because your average person is afraid of Muslims) and will do or say anything to scare the public and turn that fear into votes for them. They have even gone as far as to kill a group of people using plainclothes officers in a drive-by style shooting and blaming it on gang activity.

@Variable:
They started out as a pissed off group of anarchists doing anything they could to hurt the FEA after a 15 year old's death. The boy was shot to death at an ant-fascist protest to set an example to the rest of the black bloc who were present that destruction or general chaos would be met with lethal force, they took the name The Free because the kid's bandana said "I am Free" on it. After the initial outrage a lot of people went to jail or were killed in action and even more people lost the drive, there are still a number of them all over Canada, but most of them are in Toronto because that was where it happened, and they are, at the moment, a loose organization with no leadership that organize with the people they know. Recently a man taking up the name Freedom (after the nickname given to the 15 year old who died) has started a DarkNet site for all the members of The Free to meet and organize on and he frequently gives advice on what moves to make because he somehow has inside information on the FEA's movements and plans (he says it's because he's a professional hacker but other people have accused him of either being a member of the FEA working for the Free on the inside or an FEA informant who is working to try and get them all into one place so they can all be arrested at once).

So, to answer your question in short (even though I already wrote out the long version above), for the moment they are a loose organization with no central leadership and are quickly becoming more organized and more dangerous now that they have inside information on the FEA being supplied to them.

Thanks for the info. This sounds like it's going to be fun. There's nothing quite like bootstrapping a rebellion for some entertaining roleplay.

Oh, just a side note before I forget. The Free are split into two groups, one that thinks they should begin making and using homemade weapons and explosives against the FEA and another that thinks they should be non-violent and stick to vandalism because if they get violent it might increase the public's support of the FEA. So, if you have a character in mind you should decide which side they are on ahead of time. Both groups are still members of the Free and will work together but they have very different approaches which sometimes leads to disputes and fights.
