A while back now I tried to take my shot ever shot at leading an RP but due to my busy schedule everyone (including myself) lost interest before it even started. I know for a fact that I made some petty mistakes, such as: spamming the OOC for bumps and generally using it too much prior to the RP starting; over-complicating things; not setting a starting date; and probably a million and one other things.

So why am I here? Firstly I'd like to ask whether or not I put it in the right category (as it's tagged as 'high casual' which I know some people think is a stupid term)? Secondly, would anybody be willing to Co-Gm if I eventually take a second shot at this? Is there anything particularly good or well done with the OOC? And lastly, what flaws can you see or what advice do you have generally?

Thanks :D

Also: The kind of length and detail of posts that I would like would be similar to those in another rp that I'm in, although perhaps a tiny bit longer and more complex (due to political intrigues and the like).

I'm not sure what you mean by 'using the OOC too much,' but I think the only real mistake you made was just not starting it. It looks like it was just bad timing on your part, since not long after starting it you ended up being busy, which is understandable, but it's much easier to slow down a RP once you've already gotten it running. Delaying the first post will just make the RPers lose interest. I would say just make sure you'll have the free time to at least give it a good head start next time.

Anything beyond two paragraphs (3+ on average) and you probably want to look at advanced simply to attract a crowd that finds that sort of thing more appealing.

As for the basic structure, it seems right.

I could offer a thousand suggestions but none would really be useful until you ran an RP either to completion or into the ground. Advice on this is more like dissecting the corpse and finding out why something died rather than trying to anticipate what killed it first.

I stopped reading your out-of-character thread when you called one of your players 'Newbie'—what were you thinking? If I were a participant in your roleplay, I would have dropped out of it just from reading this, even if it was not aimed at me. I would suggest that you begin with this part of your GM endeavors and try to avoid it in the future.

Newbie isn't an insult. N00b is derogatory, not newbie. Also if you read the post;
4)STOP CALLING EVERY CHARACTER MATHIUS OR EARL GREY!!! xD

This suggests the player it was aimed at and the GM were already acquainted. So it's probably an in-joke.

Not that it matters since all this shit is super-old. Necro-support to the rescue!

Good. In-jokes are the bread and butter of community.
