Don't listen to them.

Lion King had a good companion movie in Lion King 1 1/2.

There should never have been a sequel attempted, much less made. Good movies don't need sequels.

Unless they are originally written as a trilogy/multi-part movie, most good movies have terrible sequels.

It's mostly all opinionated stuff, Good, Bad, Terrible.

Sure some movies don't need sequels, given there story came to a full close, with no plot hooks, or anyway to write a sequel that makes sense canon wise.

But just because a Movie is Consider, doesn't mean the sequel will be consider Bad.

My opinion in relation is, does the movie call for a sequel, rather then is it a good or bad movie.

I am really going with your trilogy/multi-part movie Idea there, as a way that would make a sequel have a better chance.

If a sequel is written in such a way, it doesn't screw over the first, with Retcons that mess up the main idea, and focus of the story that is a complete repeat, or invalidating the first movie, then I don't have a problem.

Now across there is more then just that to making a movie likable, and something one would watch, but I feel more like I am ranting right now.

It was Romeo and Juliet, only the main characters didn't die in the end.

Basically it's about Simba's daughter, whose name I'm blanking on at the moment.

She falls in love with a lion from an enemy pride named Kovu (who does bear a close resemblance to Scar), and, like Rax said, it's basically the Romeo and Juliet to the first movie's Hamlet.

It's not a fantastic movie and it has some slower-moving segments, but I don't think it's terrible. As a kid I enjoyed it enough (probably because the love story didn't seem nearly as overdone at such an age, but still). I do still think the visuals are nice, and, in terms of plot, it's at least worth mentioning that they didn't take the easy way out and just re-tell the same story with the offspring of the original's main characters learning the same lesson as their parents - which is something a lot of the Disney sequels were doing at the time. So, the fact that they came up with something (relatively) original, especially given the fact that the protagonist is Simba/Nala's daughter, is nice to see.

I dunno - I'm probably one of the few people who doesn't tear the movie apart as badly, probably because of how much I enjoyed it as a kid, but whatever. A lot of people say Kovu's resemblance to Scar was hammered in too much but I think it really fits the movie's tone of undue prejudice - Simba's pride hated Kovu for a lot of reasons that didn't make sense, and giving him a darker coloration and a scar across his eye just gave everyone another reason to feel weird around him, though it was also beyond his control.

^ That's just my opinion on the movie, anyway.

I liked it as well, it was the kind of movie my mom could put in for me and my sister in the middle of the day for us to just chill out with. It was just Ok, and that's all it needed to be.

You go around the web long enough and you become numb to most of the shit like me. I'll see some horrible things at work and I can be stone-faced about it.

Someone once asked me how I did it and I straight up told them "Internet.
