Samuel was and would have been a natural born leader, destined to accomplish many wondrous things in his life. He would have been the epitome of the alpha male, which every other boy would aspire to be and all the girls desire to have for themselves. His charisma and allure were and would have been of surreal properties, able to persuade and charm even the most cold-hearted of people. His ability to inspire and lead would have made him a hero and supreme general of any army in the world, and would possibly have changed the entire outcome of the First Contact War. He had uncanny temperance; constantly mindful of others and his own surroundings, self-control and moderation. He was excessively charitable; spreading unlimited loving kindness towards all others, self-sacrificial in every sense of the word. He was able to resolve conflicts and injustices peacefully, as opposed to resorting to violence, able to forgive those who had wronged him. Those who were close to him experienced empathy and trust without prejudice or resentment, unselfish love and voluntary kindness without bias or spite. However, above all else, he was modest and selfless, with the courage necessary to undertake difficult, tedious, and unglamorous tasks without question and graciously accept the sacrifices involved.

Biography
Samuel was a Helston native, born to two humble farmers. He was the driving force in the local community, always engaging everyone in creative and sometimes mischievous activities normal to that of children. However, shortly after the beginning of the First Contact War, Samuel was killed by a xenomorph. His body was never recovered, but there was a ceremonial funeral a few weeks later nonetheless. Samuel’s tombstone can be found in the local cemetery of Helston, still fresh with flowers and candles every week.

Lance has always been a curious individual, often driven to a phase of insatiability mostly in terms of knowledge. He is ridiculously industrious with his studies as what people have observed. Almost every point in time he would be seen dousing through books or any other literary material which he mainly uses for the purpose of studying or just casual learning. Sometimes, he can be very serious about his studies up to the point where even a slight spark of interruption could trigger his volatile temper. But most of the time, he demonstrates a still outlook while maintaining substantial concentration towards his studies.

As a person living in society, Lance sustains a good self-esteem. always positive and confident of the things ahead of him. To others, he is simply amiable. He's like the bright light of the early sunrise, always attempting to make people smile and feel at ease regardless of their current situation. Although he doesn't solely believe that happiness could instantly spread, he would still try and make people (mostly his close friends) vitalize at least a slight flick of joy. He's also spontaneous and at times, playfully annoying.

However, there are times when he could be an opposite of his true self. Even from his optimistic side, he could be excessively pessimistic especially when fear lingers within his mind. His pessimism determines his greatest weaknesses as a person and one example is being completely paranoid of committing the same mistake all over again. Whenever fluctuated into this certain situation, Lance could possibly erupt an unstable stream of anger which everyone would never expect to see.

Biography

From when Lance was 2 years old, his parents knew that he will most likely face a complicated childhood once he grows up. He was the only child of the family and as constantly busy as they were from attending their jobs, they didn't have enough time to think about having another child to accompany their current one. But foreseeing how their son would face the future gave a sudden obligation for them to construct a solution. Thus, Lance's parents ended with a decision of adoption. Certainly for them, they knew loneliness would be a common problem once their son develops a clear understanding of his surroundings and after the child turned a year older, they adopted an orphaned child from foster homes.

Lance's parents were certain that their decision would eventually turn out to be a solution to prevent their son from being alone. However, they didn't know how much they were desperate in adopting another child, where at that point, it was similar as using someone. And to make matters worse, they've added another one to take care of even when they knew time was lacking from their busy state.

After hesitating, they went through a decision which they were uncertain of. They hired a caretaker only to take partial responsibilities in their stead. But even that decision made things a lot worse than what they've never expected. Soon after, the caretaker they hired was a fraud, seeing as she lacked responsibility and management. The worst part is, the caretaker stole several expensive belongings shortly before her leave.

However, their poor decision-making only made possibilities for the relationship of their son and adopted daughter to strengthen. Jynette was a caring young child who developed responsibility at a very early age. Prior to the leave of their caretaker, the girl was always the one who took watch of Lance Greyson. She even babysit him whenever the caretaker left unexpectedly or without notice. As what the parents believed, and even from their terrible decisions, they were happy enough to realize how much of a blessing the young girl was. But all of it was gone after Jynette left to attend an academy.

Through the years, Lance Greyson developed a certain fondness in reading and studying until it eventually became an excessive habit of his. Even after having her adopted sister leave home at an early age to attend an academy, Lance became very sociable despite having a childhood spent all by himself. He was always considered as a teacher's favorite due to his outstanding performances in class and also a mass favorite whom everyone wants to befriend just from his simple and sunny personality. However, there were several imperfections developed on his side of adolescence which formed a darker side of him that no one ever noticed once it was shown.

When Lance was at junior highschool, news started to spread like wildfire after hearing how violently he debated with a teacher in public. It was a massive issue not only at his school but throughout the locality. The news gave Lance a temporary suspension from school which made him a bit happy instead. However, what happened in the debate became controversial which involved several issues that weren't wished to be revealed in public. Issues concerning about the school's secretive intentions of scams and etc. But as time passed, Lance Greyson, along with his parents decided to move out from town and re-establish a new life.

Lance's new setting gave him a fresh air to breathe. After years of spending in highschool, he graduated with excellent remarks but now, having several flaws which made him not the best student in his school. Still, he was satisfied and felt as if he was making the right decisions in life. Soon, he successfully entered his first choice of University and decided to take his leave from home.

Personality: The people of Norton City know Jack Wilder as an absent-mined, happy-go-lucky soldier, who many believe survived only through pure luck. Jack is not an incompetent fighter, but is known to be quite clumsy. He smiles often and laughs just as frequently, giving others the impression that he is either extremely optimistic or just an idiot. He also has no sense of boundaries or personal-space. Jack is a brutally honest man, whose choice of words tend to be frank. His impulsiveness has gotten him in trouble with some of his superiors. Jack seems to have a certain amount of distrust towards those who manipulate spirits.

Biography: On the military data base it says that Jack Wilder was raised in a small fishing community in Rimoux. Because of his lack of proper education, Jack failed to get a high-paying job so decided to enter the military force at age 21. Jack Wilder serves Norton City as a Scout Sniper.

Biography: Muna was born and raised in the Caravan. She served her people as a warrior, protecting the Caravan from any harm until, one fateful day, she was forced to leave her family behind. During a stop at a major city, Muna caught a group of people harassing the Caravan members. When things started to become violent, Muna promptly dealt with the group with force. Had one of the men not been an Edrik, things may not have gotten any worse for the Caravan. But, alas, they were not that fortunate. Using their influence, the Edrik’s managed to put the Caravan in a very uncomfortable position with the authorities. The only way they would drop the charges for “the attempted murder of an Edrik and terrorist attack” was to give up one of the Caravan’s members as a scape goat. As one of the individuals who participated in the actual fight, Muna volunteered and once the Edrik’s discovered she was of the René tribe, they accepted. For years, Muna lived as “Lady X”, one of many test subjects for Dr. Viator Edrik’s spirit experiments. As the years passed, Muna became romantically involved with Viator, a match, which the House of Edrik did not approve of. When Viator was disowned by his family, the couple legally changing their names and became married. Muna, now known as Michaela Appleberry, started her own little coffeehouse in Helston. After their daughter, Joyce, died the Appleberry's raised Kimberly and then took care of their grandson’s daughter, Samuela, when her parents could not.

Codex: The Caravan

The Caravan (a.k.a. the Travelers; the Circus; the Carnival; the Merchants; the Pilgrimage) is a nomadic clan that travels around the world to pay homage to various Kami, spirits, and sacred lands in Atlas. They are a relatively open community, allowing people of various backgrounds to join them. As such, the Caravan is considered to be a melting pot: from their people to their cuisine. The Caravan is known as a “neutral” community and will not take part in any dispute unless the community itself is threatened. They are one of the communities that regularly make trades with

The Caravan makes most of its income off of trade and various entertainment, including, but not limited to: circus acts, plays, and musical performances. Hence the Caravan’s alternate names the Merchants, the Circus, and the Carnival. The warriors do make money through bounty hunting, but with the recent increase of xenomorphs, warriors that regularly protect the Caravan also make money through eradicating xenomorphs.

The Caravan travels the world through various methods, but one can spot and/or hear the Caravan a mile away. Whenever the Caravan approaches a known civilization, and occasionally on the road, they make their presence known by playing music. Even without the music, brightly colored banners placed on their mode of transportation and their flags held up high is usually enough to identify them. Those who can see spirits can see a large group of spirits traveling along with the Caravan. It is not uncommon for the Caravan to split up. Sometimes only a handful of the members split from the main group, for whatever reason. Unless a member officially leaves the community, the person is always paired up with a warrior as protection.

Codex: René Tribe

Among the Caravan is the René tribe, a group of people said to have lost their homeland during a war that waged between the Kamis. The René's bloodline have a tendency to have a strong connection with the spirits. Although not all of them become Guardians/Aggressors, many do see and supposedly communicate with (but not manipulate) spirits. Thus, there is always at least one shaman in the René tribe/the Caravan. Muna, however, was one of the exceptional few who could not see the spirits. It was only after the numerous experiments as “Lady X” that she gained her ability to see and communicate with spirits to some degree… at a cost.

Besides the spirit's affinity towards them, the René’s are known for particular traits and customs such as:

• Those with René blood, tend to have a rare eye color or eye condition (ex. Heterochromia iridum). The Caravan lore claims that the René’s eyes were blessed by a Kami and is the reason why so many of them can see spirits and/or see the world as spirits do.
• The first born of any family of the René tribe, will always have the name René or have the word “Rene” in their first name.
• The René believe that the spirit is naturally free: they can change their form (ex. change from one kind of spirit to another) and are free to travel or reside where they want to be at. To force a spirit to stay in a specific form or stay in a specific place when they do not want to do either, is a crime to the René.
• The René also beleive that the only "proper" way to worship a Kami or pay their respects to the spirits is to give a soul; live a life to the fullest; or please the soul. Back in ancient times, the René's did sacrifices, but as time passed and killing (in general) had become unfavorable, they focused on "live a life to the fullest and please the soul". These two can be interpreted in different ways, but the René believe that living life to it's full potential is the best way to thank the spirits and Kami for the life they live. Although there might be many ways to "please the soul", many of the Caravan's members (and not just the René) decided that providing entertainment is a perfect way to please a soul: especially through music, the "universal language".
• The René practice cannibalism as part of the funeral. Because a spirit is free, the people (usually family members) eat the corpse so that deceased’s blood and flesh become part of the living. Accompanied by the memories they have of the dead, the departed will always be part of the René tribe, even if their spirit is not with them or even if they were not originally of the René tribe.

Clair Appleberry

Biography: There is not a single scientist, that works with spirits, on Atlas that does not know the name Viator Guillaume Edrik: the scientist who researched how to manipulate spirits for the average person's benefit. This included the implementation of spirits as a weapon. Viator’s most famous work is with Lady X (Michaela), where Viator attempted to make Lady X into the first man-made-Guardian. Although he ultimately failed, the young scientist successfully managed to make a normal individual be able to see and communicate with spirits, however limited it may have be. Many have benefited from his research… but many have also died. After he was disowned by the House of Edrik —a powerful and wealthy family that has survived the changes of time and continues to be one of the most influential families in Atlas— Viator legally changed his name (to Clair Appleberry) and also his field of study to botany. Once out of his her family's umbrella, Clair Appleberry has been seen cross dressing quiet often. Although Clair is undoubtedly biologically and genetically male, it is not quite clear whether or not Clair has gender identity disorder, as she has never given anyone a straight answer concerning the subject. Some believe that Clair is dressed up as a woman to spite the Edrik's.
