Mage School

Anyone want to play as a group of student mages? I was thinking that they'd be learning under a master wizard and/or a dragon who was teaching them magic.

Since this isn't Harry Potter, it would be best to keep these students as young adults, not high schoolers or less (think of it like a college), and that this takes place in a medieval-type setting, ie, no magic trains or human technology in the "muggle" world. Apart from that, any character you want is fine, but lets avoid OP characters or anything like that. I have plans to play a lizardfolk of some sort, who has left his/her (still deciding which) village in the jungle.

I was thinking the school could be called the crescent academy, due to it being on the shores of a crescent-shaped lake. Yeah, that idea comes in part from a game called Dominions 4 and the surreal Lucasarts Classic "Loom."

Any takers? I'd like to get it started as soon as possible, but we can add more characters later.

Cool. I actually have an idea for a character. She's not quite a lizardfolk, but a dracon. I'll post her in the OOC section, which I will make when we have one more person who is interested (you, me, and one another). Her name is Asthia, and while she may be relatively nice now, she has a dark future ahead of her. REALLY dark. But that's for another time. Here's what she looks like at a slightly older age than she is in this RP:

That's cool. What race might that be? As long as it doesn't unbalance the game, it should be fine.

The race is a humanoid Elemental. They basically have control over one elemenl and have a weakness that makes sure they aren't overpowered. I'll explain it more in my character sheet.

Sounds good. Just don't give them power to cause something like an 8.0 Richter scale earthquake, conjure a tidal wave, send a hurricane, or make a volcano erupt. :D

Nah, their magic is more simple than that. And until they train for many years, much less powerful.

Very good. Also, we need someone to play the headmaster of the school... who happens to be a benevolent dragon. :) A side character, not a main one.

I'm not very good at playing non humanoid characters. But if we can't find anyone else to play them I will.
