A bit of explanation is needed for the story. It may take a while. I'm putting the RP under the general section for now, discluding character sheets.
In the beginning of time, there were three major races.
The first beings were the Kaythar, a race of creators, artificers, and theologians. They are considered to be the oldest race of the three, and the kindest. They have (or had) the most power, and coincidentally were the least numerous. They are credited with creating humanity, the Sun, and the elements of Earth and Water.
The second beings were the Shornaal, a race of usurpers, plotters, and destruction. They are considered to be the cruelest of the three, and the second oldest. Holding quite a lot of power, the Shornaal's numbers were also never fully known, as their numbers are eternally changing. Credited with creating change, chaos, and the elements of Fire and Rot.
The third of the great races were the Ouvrak, a race of explorers, pioneers, and engineers. They are the youngest, and considered to be morally grey-ish. They are the most elusive of the Great Races, and give the least to their followers, yet ask for little in return, which many see as a benefit. They are credited with creating the stars, the moon, and the elements of Wind and the Storm.
It is generally considered that the Shornaal are the Big Bad Evil Guys, but that is actually just a matter of opinion. They are the masters of change, anarchy, and chaos, but they are also the creators of hope, rejuvenation, and revival. The Kaythar are generally considered to be "good", seeing as they made the earth and humanity, and have since then protected humanity. However, they also represent stagnancy, oppression, and the darker side of the status quo. The two are constantly at war, and even their followers generally distrust each other.
With that in mind, here is the story.
The Outer One, a fourth being of unknown origin, thrived on death. He visited earth in many forms, and all who saw him named him as they saw fit. To the denizens of the lost City of Atlantis, he was known as the Deceiver. To the Mayans he was the Serpent, and to the men in the old British foothills he was the Great Dragon. After feeding off these civilizations, he had acquired a taste for the souls of humans. However, there was no way to get any more without arousing suspicion from the Kaythar. So, disguised as a Kaythar deity, he slew the Shornaal called Basphet, the greatest of their number. This started the War that will not End, leading to the current events.
The Kaythar, the Ouvrak, and the Shornaal all bred with the humans they seduced. Thousands of generations later (modern day), many of these, called the Forsaken, all vie for the attention of their distant grandfathers and grandmothers. And how better to achieve that than murdering rival deities servants?
I'm open to criticism, comment, and question, and yes, this will be edited before the RP starts.
