[OOC] Lunar Colony Role Play

March 1st, 2043:
Today, the Permanent Lunar Colony Base (PLCB) has opened for the public. So far, a total of 3219 people have registered to move in, and they will all arrive within a month. Many come for the lucrative gold and iron mining businesses, working as supervisors, or machine operators. Some, however, are only following their families, and being housewives and househusbands. Others have decided to set up businesses, seeing as people have to get their food, clothing, and everything else from somewhere, and shipping costs from Earth are too high. Some, even, have come only for the views, and experience of living on the moon. Ever since the base was announced there have been objections. Moonpeace, a terrorist organisation devoted to stopping the construction of the PLCB have tried and failed at stopping it. There are fears among the workers that Moonpeace members will come to the PLCB, with the sole purpose of destroying it from the inside. There are even stories of one on our security team, who has been here for months, but those are surely just rumours. Let us hope that God will provide this base will a long and fruitful life.

This is my lunar colony roleplay! As you can see from the date, it will begin in the month of March, 2043. The roleplay will follow the lives of the new citizens of the moon, who are coming from all backgrounds, rich, poor, young, old, European, African, etc. As long as their story of getting to the moon makes sense, feel free to play them!
I'm looking for regular people, and some people who work for Moonpeace, specifically that member of the security team is up for grabs, but don't feel obliged to take it, it is just a rumour after all, and rumours aren't always true.

Name: Dave Harris
Age: 28
Former country of residence: Bristol, United Kingdom
Appearance: Around 6"4, Dave has a fairly short head of hair, not being bald but not exactly regularly haired, with blue eyes and a stubble. He can sometimes be seen wearing a pair of goggles around his forehead, of a welding type, as well as usually having a Engineer's jumpsuit while at work- with just a T-shirt and jeans when he's off duty. He has his own EVA kit, something of which he prizes over most of his possessions, to explore whenever he can on the Lunar surface as well as carry out external work.
Any family coming to the colony: None
Any family NOT coming to the colony: Left behind a brother, and his parents.
Are they a member of Moonpeace?: Nope- while his position would compliment an organization, he prefers his pay and security, over terrorism.
Job: EVA (Outside) Engineer
Personality: Happens to be fairly calm, but can be effectively riled, given the right situation. He isn't arrogant- rather being reserved, and being a thinker. He knows how to connect the dots, and while it seems that he has a fairly labor-intensive job, he knows the importance of running the EVA side of things at the base- and making sure that things work on site.
Slight History: Dave was born in Bristol, England, and was brought up in a stable and secure household. He was a good academic, and gained a degree from the University of Bristol, before then signing up in an aerospace company's graduate scheme, for something a little more extraordinary. His degree and his specialisms proved that he had knowledge of space-bound equipment, and himself being a member of the new wave of engineers, found that he'd be invaluable on any temporary colonies that were being set up on the Moon. In particular, he became a hydrogen fuel cell engineer, working on a temporary colony. After this, he got given an offer by the newly launched venture at the PLCB, as an EVA Engineer- working in particular, in oxygen recycling and other external matters in the darkness of the base's perimeter- a matter that requires knowledge and courage to work in the areas that don't often see much attention.

There is most definitely room for journalists on the moon! Someone's got to write their newspapers! Even specific ones are allowed, so i'm sure it will work.

- Journalist for mainstream newspaper on the PLCB
- Owns, writes for and distributes indie newspaper called 'Plague of Humanity' (PoH).

Personality:
Clever, witty, and proud of her intellect and appearance to the point of extreme arrogance. Believes anyone in jobs that require manual labour is beneath her and supposedly "honorable" occupations like journalism are what keep humanity going. In normal conversations and in interviews she is pushy, often trying to manipulate both words and people around to suit her needs.

Slight History:
- Grew up as an only child to an upper-middle class family. Never wanted for anything; fairly spoiled.
- Excelled in school, graduated with top marks and moved onto a journalism and English course at university.
- Became a radical extremist in everything she did, from feminism to vegetarianism to animal rights activist.
- Married, had a child and divorced within a year, didn't fight for custody of her daughter, Zara.
- Developed a medium-sized cult following on her blog which only grew once she revealed her intentions of going to the moon.

Age: 30

Any family coming to the colony: Her adopted daughter, Carmen, a girl she meet while in Mexico. There's a bit of a wall between them, since they can't speak the same language, but both happen to know a decent amount of American Sign Language. Both are trying to learn the others spoken language.
Any family NOT coming to the colony: Her parents and her twin brother, along with a few friends
Are they a member of Moonpeace?: No, but if she saw good reason to join, she would.
Job: Doctor
Personality: A fairly serious person, she knows how to get her job done. She always tries to be kind to anyone she meets, but is a tad judgmental. Though cold and often stoic, it isn't uncommon of her to be nurturing and make jokes. She finds herself thinking deeply very often, and keeps a detailed journal, as she doesn't like to lose the little moments. She sometimes takes pretty big risks in order to get highly beneficial outcomes, either for herself or for someone else.
Slight History: Her childhood was fairly average but loving. She joined a special course for medical training in high school, but she was otherwise your average student with an average home life. She worked in the medical field for most of her adult life, and is very comfortable with the environment. One time it was rumored she was involved in some questionable experiments, but the court found no evidence of the experiments existence, much less her involvement. After the events of the trial, she took a vacation to Mexico to take her mind off of it. There she meet Carmen, the young orphan she later adopted through means that probably required a few pulled strings. Though they don't say a lot to one another, they seem to like one another. She has few relationships outside of the hospital, and even there she has no real close friends. Her romantic history is pretty short, as she normally doesn't enjoy having long relationships. Overall, the world sees her as your average doctor, thought rumor has it she's a bit more than that.

Job: Miner
Personality: Often described as a grumpy person, Ilham doesn't have much social skills. He tends to stay away form people and situations, opting instead to do his own work. He's surprisingly nice and kind hearted to the few people he does know, but it's hard to get that far in the first place. He cares about his sister more than anything else, and will do anything he can to protect her. He looks somewhere between a state of exhaustion and stress., which is why he can be rude or short tempered.
Slight History: Growing up in Barrow, Alaska as a member of the Inuit community, Ilham never was a sociable person. His father was put in prison on drug charges when he was 10. When he was sixteen, he dropped out of school to work at ports along the Bering Sea to help his family out. He got into trouble with the law more than once by getting into fights. In one of the fights he lost use of his left eye. A couple of years ago he heard about the lunar colony, and signed up to receive training and work as a miner.

Personality: If you get to know him, and are nice to him, Cian can be a wonderful person, who only wants what's best for the world. But if he get's angry, he gets angry. He as a "punch first, ask questions later" attitude, and is NOT afraid to hurt, kill, or possibly even torture for his cause.
Slight History: Cian lived on a family owned and run farm in the Irish countryside until he was 18, when he moved to Dublin and trained to become an Air Traffic Controller. When he heard about the Moon base and Moonpeace, he became a member as soon as possible. However, because Ireland have outlawed Moonpeace as a terorrist organisation, he had to hide this from his friends and family. When some people high up in Moonpeace found out that Cian was an air traffic controller they used this to get him a job on the Moon Base so that he could allow them to smuggle things and people in.
