This is a place where society places the too different and unique, a place where they can be controlled.

They came to your door and took you. No questions, no choices, just force. You were loaded and taken in their vehicles and drove down to the middle of nowhere, where a large 12-story tall building stands, with the looks of an unhappy orphanage. Handcuffs locked, they 'escorted' you into the building and to your cell. Your bed is cold and has a thin blanket, your food is stale and your living conditions altogether are horrid. Will you escape Mary St. Jude? Will you escape Nowhere? Will you escape society? It all depends, are you good enough?

This is an RP I'd like to make with a similear plot to one of the honorable KatherinWinter's. Go to her, she has some nice Roleplays.

Summary of Plot: You are different in some way, any way, or even multiple ways. Society does not like these kind of people, so the goverment created this building and is gathering these different people to contain them. You must escape the terrible conditions and then escape the middle of nowhere, something that will be difficult to accomplish.

Rules
1) The basic rule for most Roleplays- my word is law. Obey me. Bow down.
2) The second most basic rules for most Roleplays- no God-Modding. Let other people control their characters, they're not yours.
3) This is something that most people don't know is a rule for the actual Casual Section thread- Good grammar and spelling is required.
4) The way OP-ness works in this RP is that the more OP your ability is, the bigger weakness you must have. Look below for the OP-ness chart.
5) No OOC in IC, keep that in OOC.
6) No fighting, you can have discussions, but no arguments or anything like that. I understand bad days, but try to keep it together, and explain if it's bad.
7) Like rule 2, if you're escaping or getting caught not following the rules of Mary St. Jude, my guards will persist to knock you unconcious. And they aren't weak, either, they have special equipment that allows them to be effective against the inmates. Do not treat them like normal humans, they can and will kill you or make you go unconcious.

Quality Modification
He automatically copies and stores weaker versions of other Patient's abilities, and can switch them at will. (exe: He copies a person's ability to shoot lasers. He'll be able to shoot smaller and weaker lasers from one of his eyes instead of both).

He can also very temporarily change the current weaker power he's copied and make it as powerful as it normally is to the origional user. (exe: The weaker lasers become their full size and out of both his eyes)

Weakness
1) An hour after he copies someone's abilities it will become unusable and he'll have to copy the power again
2) For someone to have their power copied by him, they either must be in a very positive mood (relaxed, specifically) or must be subconciously willing to let him copy their powers

1) Upon doing so, he loses the copy instantly, and he can't copy the same power again for another hour.
2) Unless he copied the power before and learned to use it well, when he copies abilities and makes them full-power he usually can't use them to their full extent due to lack of training with said abilities (however this is not evident during the weak version due to them normally being much more simple and easier to control).

Personality
He is a very kind and honest person who'd rather give himself up to save his friends from punishment. He tries to be friends with everybody, and rarely ever insults people. He will stand up to protect his friends and overall is just a very good person with a kind heart. He is fairly clausterphobic and dislikes being in small spaces due to this, but can if needed. He's a little below-average but smart enough to pass school. He can run fast but isn't very strong nor durable.

Bio
Shishi, Furiku's childhood was a mostly normal one. He was a nice kid who stood up and helped his friends, whether that means helping them outof trouble by saying 'he did it' or always being the one to step up for his friends, causing him to be quite popular as a kid around his Cul De Sac and school. He made average-enough grades that consisted of B's and C's, but rarely an A.

At his homelife his family weren't the most wealthy people in the neighborhood, but being under-averagely wealth helped him grow up being unselfish about things and not hold too much of a grasp on the little things, and to value kindess and honesty above all else.

It wasn't until a long time until he found out above his power, due to it requiring another 'Unique' person, but it changed when he found out above another kid in his neighboorhood having unique abilities. His friend was able to read thoughts, and possible with effort distort and change them. While having fun with this paticular friend and his usual neighborhood friends, his friend told him about his ability. Shishi didn't quite believe this, but he was able to easily prove it to him by demonstrating his powers on him and some of his friends. Over the period of a few days (due to the fact that he had never had his powers used before) he automatically began copying the friend's power, and the next day he was able to read the person's mind (but since it was the weak version he couldn't bend his thoughts, and only did that once he overcharged the power).

Not too long later Shishi was testing the mind-reading ability on other people while he still could before it expired, but he had used it on adults, and people in charge of the Hospital found out, causing them to rush to his neighborhood and drive him to Mary St. Jude, where he will be arriving soon.

Notes: He can also tell what powers people have, but doesn't have much of a choice in knowing or copying their power- it's an automatic thing he can't control, besides being able to switch which power he's using

NAME: Malcolm Carver-Bell

AGE: 18

UNIQUE QUALITY:
Projection – The ability to separate his consciousness from his body and explore the world around himself without moving a muscle as he is in a disembodied form. Typical uses of it include gathering information with no possible way to learn it naturally (spying) and moving small objects with sufficient willpower, almost like a 'poltergeist'.

WEAKNESSES:
Vulnerable – While his consciousness is far away from his body (out of sight of it) he cannot see what is going on, leaving his physical form wide open to attack. In addition to this, it is very difficult to control his body while not inside it and requires great concentration otherwise he will appear to freeze where he sits or stands.

Waking Up – There is a distinct possibility that if he slips out of his body while asleep, he may require an external source to jolt him awake otherwise he is stuck or 'locked out' of his own form. Furthermore, Malcolm suffers from insomnia, mostly because of the crippling fear that he will never wake up – he is near constantly tired.

Radius – The distance he can travel with his consciousness alone is determined by how well he knows the area but is generally less than a mile around him. In the case of Mary St. Jude, his mind cannot leave the building.

PERSONALITY:
Lethargic, rarely moves or attempts to do anything as he prefers to live his life with the freedom of movement that projection allows him. He is intelligent, cunning, and uses his ability for anything he can think of – he's almost addicted to the power of it. His morals are a tad more... flexible than a stable person's; lying and cheating are things he feels little remorse for doing. Even so, he is loyal, believing that debts must be repaid and friendships honoured.

BIO:
– Malcolm Carver-Bell was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as the only legitimate heir to the Carver lineage and its fortune. His mother, Jocelyn Carver, died only a few months after his birth but not before she specified all of her inherited wealth to go to Malcolm alone, preventing her husband of the middle-class Bell family from stealing it after his infidelity came to light. He has multiple half-siblings, all of whom got more love and affection from their father than he did.

– In his early school career (up until high school), he was a full A student, lauded by his teachers and inspiring envy in his peers. He didn't make many friends, which only gave him more time to study in an attempt, however misguided, to make his father proud. By the time he realised how impossible that dream was, he had already been foisted off to his elderly aunt's estate and her ruthlessly cold, old-fashioned care. It was during this time that his ability surfaced; he found himself locked in the house – in his room – for most of the day and so wished to see the outside... a wish that actually turned into a strange reality.

– Malcolm was caught when, in his first year at a prestigious university, he began to cheat on his exams. Now that he was free from under the iron heel of his family, he could slack off and forget about studying, especially when he could simply travel to the professor's office during the night and search for paperwork and answer schemes all without leaving a trace. His 100% scores were suspicious but without sufficient evidence he was not apprehended, not until friends began asking him for study guides and 'how he did it' to which he bragged about being able to separate his mind and body. Not his smartest move, as he was taken to Mary St. Jude about six months ago without warning.

Name: Makoto Kyojin

Age: 20

Unique Quality: Lightning Manipulation, another component has been added to his blood that scientists refer to as Yellow Blood Cells, giving him the ability to control electricity. Mainly by increasing the electrical impulses sent through his nerves he can shoot sparks out through his hands. These sparks can have the strength from anywhere between static electricity, to taser, to full on lightning from the sky. These sparks can shoot from every pore in his body, but the easiest to control by far is through his hands.

Weakness:
Water, Makoto has to be careful how much water gets on his body. Drinking doesn't seen to effect him that much. But even light rain water can cause sparks to fly from his skin. If he were to submerge himself in water he'd literally fry himself from the inside out. Bathing is a bit difficult, but he has that figured out.

Nerves, because he's sending strong electrical currents through his nerves, they can get out of whack sometimes. Shooting pain or numbness through some part of his body. He can right this, but it does take quite a bit of time.

Electricity, a double edged sword, being able to wield electricity doesn't make him immune to it. In fact, the electricity in his own body reacts to other electricity and can increase the voltage on pure accident. He can't fix this, he's tried. People have to be careful using tasers on his or they could cause some serious damage.

Personality: Makoto is a fighter to the core, stubborn, cocky, and confident. He certainly put up a fight when they brought him in. He knows his own limits but refuses to see them, constantly pushing himself to do just a little bit more. He's a natural leader with a certain amount of charisma. He's not good at making friends, but the ones he does make, stick around forever. Loyal and trustworthy once you see past the attitude. Though does have some trust issues of his own, and just the slightest bit paranoid. You will always find him on guard and ready to fight if need be. He's fiery and full of passion. You can definitely see a spark of something in his eyes, and it isn't just his power.

Bio: Makoto is a Yakuza brat, born to the leader of a gang called Azure Dragon. He's grown up around fighting and death, but also the family like relationship the gang had. He's learned to show affection in weird and sometimes violent ways. But even if hurts you on accident, he means good. His parents learned about the electricity manipulation the first time they tried to bathe their son. Though surprised at first, his father just laughed and said his son was going to be a handful growing up. Though a nightmare to the teachers at school, at home he was great. Always listening to his parents, respecting them and the other members of the gang. He's been going on raids with the others since he became a high school student. He lost his eye at the age of sixteen in a raid gone wrong. But his father made sure the man who took it paid big time.

Two years ago when he turned eighteen, his father retired as the head of Azure Dragon and passed the gang on to his son. He's been leading in ever since and doing a great job too. They were the best gang in the city. He got caught on a raid when it suddenly started pouring, his boys got him under cover as fast as they could, but the rival gang had seen the sparks. Two days later they came for him. Though the entire gang fought to protect him, he was still taken. Though he gave the guys who took him hell, and still does every chance he gets. Once a nightmare, always a nightmare.

Extras: Like most if not all Yakuza, Makoto has a tattoo spanning his entire back, his is, of course, a dragon

Not much. The only limitations besides the chart is it has to fall into a catagory- weak UP powers with low weaknessess, average powers with average weaknesses and OP power with many weaknesses.
