Name: Pawel Wojtkiewicz
Age: (17 in 1939, 21 in 1944)
Country of Origin: Poland
Religion: Catholic
Division: Operations
Appearance: Pawel is a well-built Polish lad, being one that seems to be most in touch with the ideals of the AK, and what next of a Post-War Poland- free of Communists and Nazis alike. He stands at about 6"0, and you'd almost mistake him for being Aryan, with his good looks and slightly blonde hair. He has a scar running down his left cheek, a subtle one that came from an injury in the line of fire.

Personality: A brave and fiery individual, Pawel is a man that you would want on your side in the AK. He may be young, but he knows how to handle a rifle, and make decisions that make sense. While filled with anger and rage, this is what you would expect of a man who lost his mother, and his father to the Germans. He sees perhaps sense in the ideals of the AK- a free Poland, and alligns himself to the more traditional view, of a Poland in democracy, rather than Communist or Militaristic regimes. He seems to hate Communists to this end for stories relating to his extended family.

Flaw: Hates Communists, and even in the toughest of times, couldn't work alongside one. This could hamper AK support in negotiating grass-roots support with Communist partisans.
Name: Magda Wojtkiewicz
Age: (16 in 1939, 20 in 1944)
Country of Origin: Polish
Religion: Catholic
Division: Other
Appearance: TBA
Personality: Fiery, like her brother, Magda has a different kind of bravery. She has a deep care for her family, a motherly figure almost, something thrust upon her too quickly. She can think for herself and act appropriately in a situation, though she isn't exactly able to hold herself together in the worst of times. She seems to be knowledgeable, and deeply caring, a Mother-like figure in lieu of the Wojtkiewicz family's parents being absent.
Flaw: Scared of intimidation, perhaps being a little less confident under particular types of pressure.

Name: Janusz Wojtkewicz
Age: (9 in 1939, 14 in 1944)
Country of Origin: Poland
Religion: Catholic
Division: Operations
Appearance: TBA
Personality: Janusz may be considered by most as more than a child, but he seems to share the same sort of ethos that his older siblings have. He's grown up fast, and seems to take a responsibility that perhaps he would have never been asked to take, in a war like this. He seems fairly friendly, and whilst he has a contempt for the Germans, he tends to perhaps be a brighter spark amidst the chaos of Warsaw.
Flaw: Young, inexperienced, unknowing perhaps of the wisdom and forged intellect of his older brother and sister.
The Wojtkiewicz family lived in Warsaw after the re-division of Russia's former territories, with Wiktor Wojtkiewicz being the first to move followed by the family- Wiktor being the brothers' and Magda's father. They were not poor, but not affluent either- an emerging middle class, perhaps, able to live, work and play in a distinctly Polish city. They were a Catholic family, and the siblings were well educated and brought up. Magda even had aspirations to become a Doctor, had the war not have arrived.

They were were untouched by the Nazis following their invasion, or at least, until 1940, when they were forced to move out of their townhouse to a smaller and squalid settlement, to make way for the Warsaw Ghetto- their townhouse being shared by six families. This hit hard- and while taking pity on the Jews was something they wished to do, they could never bring themselves to help at further fear of their own lives, physically seeing them be brutally harassed and beaten in the street then beyond the walls. Wiktor, a machinist, was taken by the Nazis in 1943, considered "essential" to the war effort, and taken to Germany, to work in a Labor Camp- the siblings do not know if this is something he will come back from, or what state he is in, but the siblings mother, Anna, died of TB in early 1944, leaving them without any parents at all at this point in time. They have scraped together a living, but Pawel and Janusz are already looking to an end to rationing and starving, to an end to the occupation and brutal regime of Nazi occupations- and with the stories of advances in the East by the Red Army, understand that if they wish to free Warsaw, they will have a role to play.

Name: Schmuel Goldfarb (Pseudonym: Janusz Wieniawski)
Age: 43
Country of Origin: Poland
Religion: Judaism
Division: Logistics
Appearance: A thick-set man with large lips, a somewhat receding hairline and a bulbous nose. He wears a bristling, waxed point moustache in imitation of the late Marshal Józef Piłsudski. In his life in the Warsaw ghetto, he started as worker in a brewery among Poles, helping haul the barrels, and this has given him considerable upper body strength.

Personality: Schmeul Goldfarb was a successful importer/exporter of goods in Warsaw, a Stawki street boy that did good through sheer grit and knowing the price of things. Still, he was never entirely comfortable in Poland. His sympathies ran towards Zionism even as he worked his way through a series of mercantile jobs and, through a combination of luck, guile and sheer hard work, managed to create a syndicate that bought products from the artisans on Stawki street and other predominantly Jewish areas of Warsaw and sell them in bulk. In the process he had to defend himself from Polish competition that didn't like a Jew getting ahead -- he knows how to swing a billy club and crack a whip.

When the war broke out, he was mobilized and put into the Polish army as a supply man, though the desperation of the situation meant that everyone was put into the fight. In that capacity, he wound up fighting on the front lines and in the siege of Warsaw until he took a round through the leg. He was out, but he also wasn't rounded up among the Jews, as he traded papers with a dead "Aryan" Pole that was a bunk over in the hospital.

That was when he was also approached with the idea of helping out guerrilla resistance -- and it seemed like a good idea for a Jew to leave Warsaw. He wasn't intent on waiting around to find out what the Germans would do, not after years of listening to Adolf Hitler ramble and scream his hate on the radio.

Flaw: Schmuel is argumentative to a fault -- he does not like to give up on his opinions easily and can often alienate people with his persistence in an argument. He's also a natural haggler which is a good thing and a bad thing. And while a logistics man ought to be a hoarder, he is parsiminious in letting his supplies go; he always wants to hang onto what he has in anticipation of another day. He's also circumcised -- if he's caught by the Germans and that's checked (and they do check) he is a dead man. During the invasion, he suffered a head wound from shrapnel and a bad concussion and there seems to be some lingering damage in the form of intermittent blurred vision, migraine headaches and occasional bouts of anger as well as persistent partial deafness in one ear.

Looking good, accepted. I hope you know the risks of walking around the Polish streets as a jew...

The "argumentative" trait is so prominent in jews, that it even has a proverb within Jewish communities (and Israel, mainly): "If you place ten jews in a room, you'll get 11 different opinions". I'm not dissing the flaw, I just thought it was a nice fun fact/coincidence.

Yes, being one I am well aware. That's why I put it in there.

Also, I sort of have him marked as expendable. If he goes, I can get another character.

Yeah, your character can die if you do silly things or just not being careful. The fact you're playing as a Jew may make this character really hard to play, which is an intriguing choice.

Name: Samuel Hammett (Pseudonym: Walter Burnicki)
Age: 38
Country of Origin: Leeds, West Yorkshire, England
Religion: Anglican Christian
Division: Tentatively Kedyw

Appearance: Samuel is a tall and lean glass of water. Coming in at 6’1 and 175 lbs he is by no means intimidating, but that’s almost the point. Samuel can be just another face in the crowd without much need to work. He has soft features and a tiny round nose set under deep blues. His shaved brown hair makes him look a little like a mineworker if he’s in the right clothes. Of course, all of this subverts the dangerous truth that Samuel’s body has been trained into a lithe tool of destruction.

Personality:
Samuel is a smart, calculated sort of individual, who leaves little to chance. He plans meticulously, carefully, yet swiftly. His mind is so used to developing tactics and strategies that it has become second nature for him. The little that he leaves to chance may seem like a great deal to other people, however. Samuel is aggressive in combat maneuvers, dangerously intent on helping the helpless, and haplessly obsessed with skirmishing. This is primarily a trait developed while learning from Columbian guerrillas in the Amazon and his unorthodox training in Ireland, but there is also a deep-seated root for this seemingly reckless behavior. Samuel lost that inherit will to live a long time ago. When he discovered that his only lot in life was the destruction of others, he knew he had to let go of that nagging urge to save one’s own life. He knew that he would have to think about saving others more than he could think of his own life, or his achievements thus far would be mute.

Flaw: Samuel sees his life as continuously expendable. His view in a nutshell: If I do not try, with every breath, to save a life other than my own, then all I am doing is killing for killings sake. In order to fully commit to this assumption, the alternative to which is ultimately damning, Samuel realized that he would have to sever that desperate desire to continue living. To him, it isn’t a state of suicidal depression, but rather a shedding of delusions of immortality. In short: Samuel is a daredevil, a risk-taker, but only with his own life.

-Despite being fluent in Polish and German he has a novice level understanding of the culture and customs

-And, he hasn’t experienced this yet but, losing a man under his command would leave an indelible, and, probably, incurable wound.

A good character, and will be accepted, but there isn't a bridge between the two divisions. From the description of the character, I definitely recommend going Kedyw (special ops).

Yeah, I just put that cuz he's doing two different jobs here. Spying on the germans and delivering intel back to the crown, while sharing with the resistance, and helping the underground with attacks. I guess he could just be in one for semantics sake.

Gonna put him under Kedyw, but the vague descriptions of each division have an improv and "interpret as you like" element to it, so that type of character could work.

Name: Karol Zabek, Kapitan, Infantry
Age: 38
Country of Origin: (Kalisz) Poland
Religion: Roman Catholic
Division: Planning and Operations

Appearance:
Karol Zabek stands 6' tall and weighs 195 Lbs. He has brown hair and bluish gray eyes. He has a hardened appearance from years of combat. His body is adorned with several scars received during combat between 1 Sep 39 and 4 Oct 39 when his unit, assigned to the Polish 25th Infantry Division fought a delaying action from the border with Germany to the nation's capital.

Personality: Focus. Karol is haunted by several ghosts, brothers of the 29th Polish Infantry Regiment, he served with until the 4th of October 1939. The memory of their deaths drives the former Polish army Captain to continue his mission, fighting the Germans to remove them from his country. The destruction or harassment of Wehrmacht or Waffen SS units inside the territorial borders he knows as Poland is his prime directive. It is his focus and reason to live.

Flaw: Karol Zabek is fixed and hell bent to do what he sees as right. His mind is difficult to change; pig-headed. A wound to the right leg received in action on 25 September 1939 during the defense of Warsaw has left Kapitan Zabek with a limp. Due to his unyielding discipline, he pushes himself and even runs with a limp, but cannot keep up with the younger soldiers of the resistance. If cornered, Karol will not run. He will stand and fight; live or die.

- Speaks fluent Polish and decent German; enough to get by. He understands a few Russian words, but not enough to effectively communicate ideas.

Accepted. As for the scars, the game will begin around the end of September, when Warsaw surrenders, so you may want to reconsider the "scars" bit, as you may or may not get a chance to fight.
