Foremost I'm going to say that what I got here is a rough concept at best, really I only thought of this maybe within the last half hour. Still I like it enough that I decided to test it out, so if enough people want to come along and the idea is refined enough I'll start an OOC.

Anyway my concept here for a RP is its all about constant reincarnation. Throughout the RP every character is expected to die, multiple times at that. After each death the character remembers everything, their previous life, family and friends, absolutely everything down to the exact moment of death. With reincarnation the current idea is anything about the character can change, gender, social economic standing, their physical appearance as a few examples. However the one constant other than memories is their personality, but needless to say after living through multiple realities, there could be problems such as identity crisis if the character can't sort everything out.

That's by and large all I have, no setting is decided yet, although I considered going for a modern day city, to slightly in the future. If you got any thoughts, questions, ideas, or threats feel free to voice them, as I said if enough people want to come along and I get together a complete plot then I'll consider to make this into a real RP.

I like this Idea and I'm plenty interested. Sounds much like the show Forever, except, well you're not a singular immortal being, but several beings who were/are plenty mortal. The identity crisis is what really sells it for me. While the personality being 'constant' is a little hard to work around (because relationships with other characters *if any*) but I think it would work since physical change would mean that if a character died and came back, there's much less of a chance they'd recognize each other again, not to mention age differences between the time they died and how long it takes them to come back to life. (immediately reborn? A year or three?)

Guild ate my post... I'll make this quick then. I haven't thought on how much time passes from life to life, too far forward at a time means there would be a constantly changing world, which might not be a bad thing, but I don't know how I would handle deciding what changes happen. To clarify what I mean is just normal progression of humanity like new technology, changed politics and the like. For now I'm benchmarking at a month, another thing is no matter what everyone is reborn in the same city, one to keep everyone generally together, and two for plot reasons.

That sounds like a fairly sturdy plot. I think the only thing that could cause problems is the possibility of a time skip. If one is reborn and you time skip. IE: the year they died was 1994 and they were reborn relatively quickly, and they time skipped 21 years to 2015, the time skip would have to affect the rest of the story so someone's character who was 20 would then be 41 and ect, which I feel would certainly challenge others. I'm feeling this would probably be best if it was kept to a small group or possibly a 1x1 so no one got lost or left behind in the story line.

I want to cap this at three or four, any more and it'll be too chaotic which I agree with. When it comes to aging someone can be reborn as any age, like an old man can return as a child. It'll be a way from preventing a character from becoming too old to the point where they shouldn't be alive anyway due to real advanced age. For each reincarnation I decided that I'll be hashing out details with the writer in PMs, after initial character creation no one is going to know anything about a character's new form without some guess work or otherwise.

Honestly, this gets more and more intriguing. It sounds fun. Making the others do some guess work. After all, what's the fun in revealing all the details about the new forms each person takes? The only question I have left is will the characters be going by the name they start out with, or will their names change with each incarnation?

Different names for a different life, but guess depending on the person probably still uses their original name. If you're John who comes back as Max chances are you'll still respond to John at least early into the new life and before living through too many lives. Now something I want to do but don't have an idea for is a way for a character to identity another after starting a new life, it can't be obvious and see able from a distance, it'll take getting close to the other one, like say a marking.

I love the idea of them not responding to the new name that goes with their new life until the character is accustomed with it. As for a mark, perhaps a mole or scar on like the arm or other part of the body that they either had early on from their first life, or something received at/around the end of their first life? Just an idea. I originally was thinking of like a birth mark, but honestly I feel that's been over done a little, but it's your RP idea so don't read too much into my one opinion(s) until there are (hopefully) more people who are interested. :)

You're free to suggest anything that's why I made this intrest check in the first place so go ahead to fling out any thought you get. I'm thinking about just using some kind of marking that'll be revealed once it becomes needed. Right now lets just sit tight when someone else joins in then I'll start the OOC, and I've no idea when that might happen given its been two weeks since I started this.

Edit: Didn't see you, Jambo, alright when I get the opportunity the OOC is going up, give me until Friday.

You forgot meee! Sad times

Can I ask a question? The reincarnation, is it limited to just Human. Or can you come back as anything? (Within reason). For example, if you wanted to see a loved one again, from a former life. But you couldn't just be the same, because that'd spook them. Perhaps you could come back as the family pet? Probably a bad example.

No you'll have to stay human, no animals, BUT you did give me a great idea that'll intoduce in the OOC.

If this is something that is still in the works- I might be interested.
I'm a little weary cause of the complexity of it- but that might just be because I'm a little slow; haha.

You have caught my interests none the less!

Alright I got two scenarios to use at this point. The first is based on just a modern day city, possibly real or fictional. The benefit to this is things would be familiar and less complex. The other one is a futuristic city built by some very smart people with lots of money in the years 21XX. The whole concept is the city was built from the ground up in an attempt to create an automised society so to speak. What we get here is a utopian (dystopian?) world with plenty of high tech themes and generally more free creativity. Problem is the setting might be too complex when paired with the already existing complexity of the RP.

Yep we talked in the IRC so all good there.

OOC should be going up soonish, also decided on a in-between setting with it being the year 2027 so in the future but not far.

Sounds like a good compromise. That way technology is readily available, but 'old world' things (ie swords for those who collect) are still available. Harder to obtain probably, but still there.
