For advertising an RP, what are your approaches? Opinions on the matter itself are welcomed. I feel like word of mouth is the best way. However, my only issue is that I don't want to sound like a used car dealer. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Signature. Word of mouth. Asking players to help out with advertising.

There are a lot of ways. Aside from the ones I listed, I.prefer to let the RP speak for itself.

Then the players are free to talk about how good a previous iteration was and why people should seek it out. I imagine this is how Legend if Renalta is ran, by Brovo, though he can confirm or deny that.

my approach apparently works as someone was pointed in my direction when (S)he was looking for a dark fantasy roleplay.

I figure to write an organized interest check and let it go from there, but that's my personal opinion.

I don't advertise all that much, not because I'm some kind of noble guy who's just so nice he won't advertise, but because I'm too damn lazy to link to things. I'd go with a banner though, it's how I used to advertise my stuff. It's hard to make, and you usually have to pay to get it made for you, but it's worth it. Banners catch eyes, and things that catch eyes catch clicks, and clicks catch members.

My sig is humorously relevant.
