This is the audio log of Jason Coal, Commanding Officer of Clean-Up Team Lima, dated March 22nd, 2147... I'm making this report to inform the administration of the status of Clean-Up Team Lima, and the current condition of the Mars Base... It's been four days and 12 hours since life support systems were reported offline in the Phobos Labs of the Mars Site 1 Complex. Repeated attempts to make contact with the base have been met with... Little success. As so, I, and my team, [REDACTED], have been sent in as part of Clean-Up protocol 696. Mission goals are simple- Re-establish communications to Earth via the Com-Tower. Obviously, this means restarting the power grid for the entire base- As well as restoring the life support systems in Phobos. Recent energy readings report that the entire base is offline, save for emergency power being fed... This will only last about a week or so, which means we have about a week or so to restore the facility to operable status or we can all kiss our trip home goodbye.
In addition to this, and according to Clean-Up protocol 696... My team is tasked with [REDACTED] any living members or beings on base... This is of course the 'Clean up' part of our team, after all... None of us really know what went down on Mars, or what to expect, really... But asking us to kill off anything alive in there? I know the stories are a bit crazy, but I figured they were just that... Stories...
At any rate, we will be arriving on Mars in two days time. To be honest, the men are itching to get out of this tin can and onto the ground- A lot of greenhorns around here that just want to fire off some rounds... Trigger happy bastards will get the entire team killed if they aren't careful. And scaring the pencil pushers and gearheads that came with us isn't helping the situation any better. At any rate, all ammunition and weapon stores are accounted for, as are medical supplies and other items of need... It's just a matter of getting to the red rock. Let's just hope whatevers waiting there is already dead. God knows I've cleaned up enough messes to have to shoot another kid or something...
More follow ups are to come as per request... But for now... End of log.

Well, it's been nearly a week since earth lost contact with Mars Base... Again. So, its up to us, the Clean-Up Squad, to come and dish out the pain. The mission goals are simple, really...
Enable communications back with Earth
Restart the power grid for the entire facility
Restart the life support systems
Clean up any signs of foreign or native life on base, erasing all evidence of an invasion.
This is a secret mission, Spec-Ops top of the line grade shit, so we cant squeal about this to anyone. This means a very particular set of men have been picked for this challenge- A few greenhorns, of course, but for the most part, good soldiers and a team of scientists and engineers to assist in restoring the facility to working status, so that the UAC may continue research projects on the base as soon as possible. Mark it down as a disaster and send in some more lovely meat bags to do the work...
So, that's what you play as. A soldier, an engineer, a medic, or a scientist, or a combination of those. Scientists and Engineers will be attached and under Lima Team's orders. Medics and Soldiers are under the command of the Captain, or any other rank above them, for that matter.
Welcome to hell. Trust me when I say not everyone will make it out of here alive. So. Who's coming?
