You find yourself in a cold, grainy environment. What's this? You could've sworn a minute ago that you'd been doing something else. Perhaps it was a dream? As your eyes adjust you're met with the sleek, modern design of a 20th-21st century art museum; a big, blank room with a high, glass-domed ceiling. The walls are a soft grey-white and adorned with various artworks--paintings, embroidery, printed digital art, all depicting different scenes (sometimes familiar, sometimes not). The floor beneath you is a deep steel-grey marble, and though there's lots of windows, you can't see anything out of them. It's darker than the dead of night out there. There's a big arch opening into another exhibit on the far end of the room. As the panic starts to set in, you idly wonder how a place so airy and spacious could feel so very claustrophobic. It might have to with the others in the room, who you're just now noticing. To your right you see a young man with clear blue eyes dressed in white and blue, a tiny, quiet girl in red, holding a single rose, a rather large tin can with three glowing eyes and big, mechanical arms, and a gruff-looking fellow who looked as if he'd dropped right out of the weird west. To your left there's a huge black & white wild cat, whose shimmering coat seems to consume the light around it, a young, normal looking guy with a nice hair cut and an agent's suit, a little impish bloke donning a big red hat, and a blue-grey haired teen in a school girl's uniform. What the hell is going on?
---
"Urgh.....ugh?" The world was spinning, and it was all cold, city colors. This was certainly not the tree he'd been sleeping under. Where was he, anyways? Had the Mymble taken some pity on him and drugged him back to her little cottage, after a long night of ale and parlor tricks? And if so, why was she shining so much light in his face? Was he passed out outside of a tavern, being assaulted by the chilly twilight-grey of the morning light on his face? He certainly felt lightheaded enough to believe he was hung over, and seeing as how he didn't have much of a recollection of his immediate memories, he might as well be. He was certain that he was slouched against the wall of a tavern, so he supposed turning away would help--and he did, and it didn't. It seemed as if the light was coming from directly above him, so was it midday? Had he slept through the entire morning? It wouldn't be the first time. The Joxter pulled the brim of his hat past his eyes, stubbornly refusing to open them. Sleeping through midday was okay with him. What wasn't okay with him was the shifting of the walls and the realization that the walls were actually the legs of someone else, and not a wall after all. It wasn't too great when the legs knocked off his hat and revealed a big, grey museum, filled with people he didn't know, either. He could care a great deal about that, a great deal indeed. "Where am I?" He asked no one in particular.

"Gary!" Ib cried, whirling around only to blink in surprise as her surroundings seemed to have changed. She stumbled back in surprise, eyes wide as she took in her surroundings. She didn't remember this part of the Gallery. Was...Was this a new part of it? And if so who were all of these other people? The child clenched her rose to her chest protectively, slowly backing away from them. Were they paintings? They look real but then again so did Mary and look what had happened because Ib had trusted her: being chased through the Gallery while the crazy girl swung a palette knife at them. The small girl eyed the other people in the room as well the paintings on the wall. One never knew when they would come alive and try to eat you. Ib had been surprised way too many times to be so anymore. She just assumed every piece of artwork was out to get her and nothing was safe. Her eyes caught on the small being, almost her size, who's hat got knocked off. Now she was sure these were paintings.

Darkhunter blinked his eyes open slowly... where... where were his mates? Just a minute ago he had fallen asleep between his two beautiful mates... now... what was this place? The jaguar growled and covered his eyes with a paw, snarling, feeling his head spinning from the light and all of the smells. He slowly adjusted to where the pain was just a dull, throbbing ache and pulled his paw away, sitting up and looking around. Darkhunter's silver eyes glinted with confusion and panic as another angry growl left him. He stood up and paced around angrily, looking over the odd artwork and feeling the strange, hard stuff beneath his paws. He never paid any heed to the strangers in the room with him for several seconds, before he turned around and sat once more, snarling at the people and asking with a furious huff, "If any of you have an explanation for why I am missing two mates and a rainforest, I would like to hear it!" He gave a small roar, then batted at a vase with his paw, hoping to knock it over and shatter it, just something to make him feel better. He broke down then, slumping to the ground and curling up with a painful moan. Already he hated it here. Cold, bright, totally unfeeling. Even this mighty cat was reduced to a heartbroken pile within seconds of arriving here.

River struck a flirty pose, when she realized she wasn't in the bar anymore. "What the bloody hell?!" she screeched, spinning around. Where was she? A museum? She looked around at the other...humans and creatures. She saw man whose hat got knocked off, a girl with a rose, and jaguar creature. These three creatures are what stood out to her. "Would anyone like to explain what the bloody hell is going on?" she said loudly.

Tatsuya slowly woke, sitting up. He had a mild headache, but that didn't worry him. He calmly stood, looking around, trying to get a grasp of the situation.

"Even if you say that, I won’t forget this: you, Homura Akemi, have become a devil!" "I won't forget... I must not forget..." she had repeated to herself in her heart that mantra for weeks. She did not know what it was exactly that she had to desperately remember, but she knew it was something negative related to her classmate, Homura. And yet, upon that very instant when her surroundings suddenly warped into that bleak, monotone room, all the memories of her past ten reincarnations or more came rushing back to her with the speed of a bullet train. All the fun times she had shared with her childhood friend, Madoka Kaname, as well as all the nightmares of having her mind enslaved in the body of a witch, they all came flooding back into her consciousness like she had known about them all along. She didn't know which was a more agonizing experience - having Homura brainwashing her and leaving her an empty shell, or having all these thoughts violently shoved back into her mind. She required but a few seconds to collect herself as her blurred vision gradually recovered. The way her world instantaneously shape-shifted into shades of white and grey was already a lot to take in, and the rush of hundred memories did not help one bit. But surprised as she might be, she dared not let her guard down, the voice in her head urging her to get a hold of herself and quickly transform. For all she knew, this could be another manipulation of the new Homura Akemi, the omnipotent entity who had snatched the fire of god for her selfish desires. With her power, she could have wiped Sayaka's entire existence simply by willing it. Or in this case, teleport her into a strange joke where a giant robot, a cowboy with a poncho, and a jaguar of white rosettes, were in the same room together. She wondered which of those were the punchline. When she finally became calm enough to get a good look at the scene before her, she started to realize that she might be dealing with something entirely different. Her first thought when the walls had started to shift around her was a "witch barrier", something the witches she had fought would use to trap their victims. The phenomenon certainly started out familiar, the way her world had melted away into existence like she was watching Alice in Wonderland while on drugs. But when she saw how clean this room was, how it was deprived of the colorful papercraft models that would adorn a witch's lair, or just any bright colors at all, it all just didn't project the same ominous atmosphere she was supposed to feel among witches. "If any of you have an explanation for why I am missing two mates and a rainforest, I would like to hear it!" "Yeah," she thought to herself, "definitely not witches." For one thing, the witches she knew wouldn't speak human, let alone speaking it with a voice of such clarity; they would merely sprout gibberish in their own 'witch language'. For another, she noticed a couple of normal people like her among the crowd, one of whom was even a little girl. A creepy girl with a rose, but a normal girl otherwise. "Would anyone like to explain what the bloody hell is going on?", said a brunette with beauty that easily made Sayaka felt insecure about her own looks. "That's what I would like to know as well," Sayaka calmly responded. Despite the girl appearing slightly older and taller than her, she nonetheless felt a bit more secure about having someone normal - and human - to talk to in this strange situation.

Darkhunter finally gathered himself after a few seconds. He swallowed the lump in his throat and sat up, trying to push the longing visions of Starfall and Nightspirit out of his head. He would get back to them, somehow. He didn't even want to imagine the grief they were experiencing right now. He looked around with his tail slowly sweeping the floor behind him, his ears flicking and twisting to hear all the bits of conversation. The light still hurt his eyes but... it was bearable. He says, "I do not know what is going on. I hope none of you do, either. I left behind two beautiful mates and my home, and I don't know how to get back. We should probably look around this... chamber..." He stood up and began to pace about again, this time looking and inspecting the walls. All of the cracks, crevices, nooks and crannies came under his feline scrutiny. He had never been in a place like this. As he investigated the images came back to him, hurting him. A beautiful, starry night. He had laid out under the cover of the thick jungle canopy, laying alone for just a few seconds before one of his wonderful mates joined him by his side. Starfall. A jaguar with fur pure white and blue eyes that glowed like the little lights in the sky... her thick, warm, soft fur comforted him as he pulled her close with his forelegs, burying his nose in her fluffy scruff. Then there was Nightspirit, the pure black jaguar with sleek fur and the agility of a bird. Her eyes were an incredible emerald green. She joined them by curling up and letting them use her almost as a pillow. In that position, lovingly curled into his mates, he had fallen asleep... and now he was here... He blinked out of his reverie as he almost ran into someone, seeing nothing interesting right now. The next exhibit could wait. He sat down and faced the group, "I think we need to get to know each other. I am Darkhunter." He bowed his head respectfully, then raised it and looked about. Mostly there were odd creatures with no fur, and something over their bodies that smelled funny. Then there was a being that looked... just off. His sensitive eyes saw everything in vivid, slightly-washed out detail. He was still sweeping his tail, looking about cautiously.

Ib remained silent as the others in the room began asking the generic questions: where were they, how did they get there, etc. The small girl was still standing away from them, not completely trusting them though she was starting to relax slightly. She was usually more friendly towards people but after Mary..well, until she knew for sure they were real, then she would relax. She was eyeing the jaguar slightly, completely bewildered as to what he was. As far as she knew, animals didn't talk. At least...Not in the real world they didn't and she was very doubtful that this was the real world. The girl sighed and slowly slid to the floor, blinking her eyes tiredly. She hadn't slept since she had fainted in that terrible room with her parents painting in it. After that they meet Mary and when they weren't running for their lives, solving those ridiculous puzzles, or, in her and Gary's case, trying to escape Mary, Ib had not had a lot of rest since she had been sucked into that nightmare world. The child rubbed her eyes sleepily, trying to keep her gaze on the others in case they tried something.

The Joxter's thoughts were both blank and scrambled as he retrieved his fallen hat. For one moment, he was thinking about how great an apple would taste right then, because his mouth was a little dry. In the next he was wondering where in the world his wandering hippie of a son was now, and after that he dully noted that there was a raging ball of black fur complaining about its mates not to far from his vicinity, and that he'd probably scared that tavern wall--who turned out to be a human girl--into a panic (which he may have felt a twinge of guilt over, and who he may have given an apologetic glance over the shoulder). In fact, many a person were panicking! But, he digressed. Back to apples. He could go for some hard cider. That'd be nice. He placed the hat back on his head, tugged on the brim, and spoke before his mind could process what was happening to him. "Excellent idea, dear Darkhunter! Right! So...the Joxter, yours truly." He grinned a wide, win-'em-over, fang-filled grin, whiskers and nose twitching and all the rest of his charms and tricks, before curtsying. "And figuring out where we've landed ourselves wouldn't be a half-bad idea, pussy-cat. I can second that notion. I'm fairly certain none of us has the slightest as to why we're here anyways." He fought the urge to mutter under his breath about the lot of jumbo-sized freaks he was surrounded by. Of all the things his forebodings had warned him of, they left out this little event, huh? Rather, he stepped backwards, towards the human girl in red. "I apologize if I frightened you, miss," he said softly, so that he wouldn't be heard by unwanted ears. "I hadn't known whose legs I was leaning on, or that I was leaning on any legs at all. I might be able to make it up for my rudeness, however: if you're tired, I'll let you borrow my scarf. It doubles as a practical pillow when there's nothing else available."

Groaning in mere agony and discomfort, Alfonzo had awakened after a very hard session of training exercises, only to find himself surrounded by the unusual arts of various paintings and pictures as he leaned up. Though blurriness came to making it’s way back into his eyes, he made the attempt to get onto his feet so he can get a better visual of the building he awoke in. Once his vision had came back intact to full sight, he stared closely at a painting that hung on the wall right in front of him. He stepped closer to take a better look at the painting in the frame, observing it and trying to figure out what it was, though he couldn't, it was still a nice work of art. After doing so, the thought just hit him. “Wait a minute…….why am I in a museum? Better question, how’d I get here?” Just after, the sound of voices had made attention into Al’s hearing. Once heard, he made the decision to turn around to bring his attention to the other people in the museum and to what they were discussing. Once he did, he hesitated and paused to where he was standing. His face in utter shock, his mouth hanging wide open, and no sudden sound came from him after witnessing what he was seeing. The unfamiliar characters that stood before him brought him into alertness. The only word that left his mouth was in a fearful tone as he said silently to himself,“What is all this”?

Slowly all of Mizn systems came back on line one after another. With his optical sensors reactivated he scan the room making a note of the organics in the room with him. The faint sound of gear grinding was heard as Mizn stood up and looked around at the room. "Statement: My designation is Mizn Tan-Erbo," the automaton said with a monotone voice. He turn his head towards Sayaka "Query: Organic why is your hair blue?"

At that statement, River changed into a female lion. "And why can I turn into a lioness? Because it's how we are," she purred. She couldn't stand it when people made fun of other people or asked ridiculous questions, even it was minor.

Ib blinked in surprise when the creature with the hat apologized for leaning against her legs(which, to be honest, she really didn't notice because she had been too busy trying to figure out where in the world she was.) She tilted her head as she examined him a moment. He couldn't be real could he? Whatever he was, she was wary with her response. "That's alright. And no thank you, I'm fine." She replied in her normal quiet voice. She noticed some of the other beings were coming around, once again asking the generic questions. Except one, he wanted to know why one person's hair was blue. Ib blinked her red eyes in surprise before shrugging it off. Everyone gathered was a little weird to be honest. She still wasn't sure about the talking feline that called himself Darkhunter or the creature before her that claimed to be Joxter. Frankly, she just wanted to be home in bed with this whole nightmare behind her.

Tatsuya had stayed silent this whole time, and just watched the others, to see if any of them were acting suspicious so he could find out if any of them knew what was going on. He activated his Elemental Sight to see the Information Dimension as he looked around, looking through walls and other solid objects to see if there was anything helpful nearby.

All these different beings, all these different creatures, could all of this be real? Alfonzo stared at their movements, their actions, what they were all discussing and talking about. The sight and view of all of this made Al feel weird and confused, so it made him come to a conclusion to why he was seeing all of these weird things at once. The sight of unfamiliar and abnormal people, standing in a somewhat small yet chilly museum, made him realize all the facts of what he was going through. The answer was simple to him. It’s nothing but a dream. “Yeah”, he said to himself in a more moderate simple hearing tone. “Yeah, now that makes more sense.” Because of his overhearing tone, it made an intent for him to look like an idiot, but he couldn't care less because his mind was set that everything, from where he was standing, to all who stood before him, was not real.

The Joxter gave a curt nod to the girl before addressing the crowd again with an expressive, half-joking frown. "So, we've a Darkhunter, a Joxter, and a Mizn what's-it gadget. Are the rest of you going to go nameless while you bicker? I'd like to get out of here, if it's all the same to you, and that might be easier if we were talking to each other. Say, for example," He flicked his wrist in the general direction of the young women who'd just made herself into a lioness (strange behavior). "What might we call you, lovely miss?" His words were confident but he wasn't feeling it as much as he usually would. To be honest, he was beginning to think he'd noticed something deeply disturbing about the paintings in the exhibit, and it was making him extremely uncomfortable. He didn't fancy staying there much longer than he had to.

River turned back to her "normal" self again. "River, and I'm a Changling if you're wondering. A creature that can transform," she explained. "What's...what's going on with these paintings?" she wondered aloud. She felt some strange vibe coming off of them....

The girl was silent for a moment before she finally spoke. "Ib. My name is Ib." The child replied quietly as she climbed to her feet. She agreed with Joxer. If there was anything she learned from being trapped in Guertena's world, it was to keep moving. Staying still for too long was never safe. She brushed off her skirt and wandered over to one of the paintings while the others conversed among themselves. "I wonder if these are going to move as well." She mumbled to herself. While they certainly looked different than the artworks she had witnessed, she still got the same unsettling feeling whenever she was near them. She fingered her rose before tucking it safe inside her skirt pocket. It would be very bad if she were to lose it. She didn't know if the same rule that applied in the Gallery did so in this space but she wasn't willing to rip a petal off just to see if it would wound her. She didn't want to reply solely on finding a vase of water if it did.

Tatsuya ignored The Joxster, and went over to the paintings, with his Elemental Sight still active. He looked at one curiously, before pulling out a set of twin pistols, his Longhorn Tridents. He aimed the right one at the painting and pulled the trigger, activating his Decomposition(Demon's Right), which, if the painting was actually a painting, or if it was actually a solid object at all, it would be vaporized. And, if it was a living being, it would feel the pain as it is vaporized and have just enough time to scream.

"W....whatever you're doing, kid, I don't think it's gonna make a difference. Maybe you should take a closer look at the picture before you do anything rash?" The Joxter balked at the young man and his drawn weapons. What was wrong with humans, anyways?
---
The paintings did indeed emit a thick, uncomfortable aura of distaste, as if they detested the eyes that viewed them. There's more to them than this sickening, malicious intent, however. If you were, by any chance, to take a closer look at the paintings on the walls, you might recognize scenes from books or movies or television programs that you've viewed at some point in your lifetime. It might Moby Dick, or Sherlock Holmes, or even Santa Claus. One might depict an historical event, as in a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr., or the assassination of Caesar. However, they might not recognize the scenes at all. Yet still, the paintings seemed normal. Until your eye catches the oddball. The one that's someone you know--a girl you've talked to in school, your father, your brother. A scene personal to yourself....or at least, you thought it was. And on top of this, what's flesh and blood to one in this room is ink and paper to another. Your mother might just be a dead character in a good book to the man standing next to you. The portrait of a man in a frayed jacket, the peaceful expression of Ophelia carved onto his fair face, the blue rose clutched in his folded hands, it all might mean nothing to you. It might mean everything to girl in red. Have you ever thought you were living in a storybook?
