A guy I know owed me some money. He had recently bought a PS3 for his nephew, only to be told 'FUK U UNKUL I WANT PS4 I HATE YOU'. Now I have a pretty much untouched (he played maybe 15 minutes of Last of Us and Destiny before deciding he sucks at video games) PS3. If I hate it, looking at used console prices I can just sell it and make way more than the guy owed me, but I decided to give it a chance. Since I'm the sort of intelligent consumer who somehow ended up with 1582 games on Steam that I will never ever play, I immediately went and bought a ton of games, some many of which are probably shit (no clue why I got the GOWs when people I trust have said they're pretty much 'baby's first action game'). However now I've slowed down and decided to get some Codex recommendations instead of buying everything that moves. Games I already got: Bayonetta Demon's Souls Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Drakengard 3 Destiny Folklore God of War 1-3 Heavenly Sword Ico + Shadow of the Colossus Collection Infamous 1-2 Killzone 1-3 The Last of Us Metal Gear Solid 4 Nier Ninja Gaiden Sigma Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Bitch Ratchet and Clank Future 1-2 Resistance 1-3 Uncharted 1-3 Yakuza 3-4 Are there any other games on the PS3 worth owning? Games that have a PC release I'd prefer to just have the PC version of, unless for some reason it's way inferior (I have a controller), so I guess I'm focusing on console-only games. If they're multiplayer-only I have pretty much 0 interest, since online multi is something I do on PC, and gaming is a mostly solitary hobby for me as I prefer doing other stuff with friends/gf/whoever in person.

I mainly played Xbox 360 and PC. So a lot of these games I just can't speak on, and there's little other games I even know of.

Demon's Souls, then Dark Souls (and Dark Souls 2 **if** you like the series). Not only are they absurdly rewarding and tough, they're a special kind of storytelling that literally cannot be replicated on anything but a videogame. Play. Those. Games. ....and yeah you could do Dark Souls on computer, but that's no fun. Controller is better.

I'd hold off on Drakengard for now. Play Nier first to make sure that you're ready for Kenji Ito's Wild Ride. Nier is a competent action RPG that's pulled up by the strength of its characters, music, and voice acting. Don't play Solid 4 unless you've beaten the other Metal Gear Solids, 4 really banks on you recognizing things from the older games for its emotional notes to hit. In particular, the final boss isn't nearly as amazing if you haven't played the other games. Get Vanquish. It's like a third person shooter on speed. You have literal rockets strapped to your thighs that allow you to slide around all over the place in slow motion shooting everything. At one point the main character gets into a pummel duel with two robots at once. If you play Bayonetta, it's that but a third person shooter instead of a brawler. Play Bayonetta, love it, and give all your money to Platinum Games forever.

Journey. If you're looking for PS3 games, get Journey. It's really cheap on the online store, and it's one of the better examples I've seen of how games could count as art. It's fantastic, even if it's fairly short. Lair is kinda fun, the ability to use motion controls so much really makes the controller feel like a pair of riding reins.

Or just get an adapt for your controller. PC specs, 360 controller. That's what I do.

Lair can get INSANELY frustrating, though, with how unresponsive the controls can be sometimes. If you like RPGs, the Mass Effect trilogy (like 30 bucks for all 3 games) and Dragon Age are both incredible series with a lot to say.

Dark Souls- yes it is available through steam and what not but the port for PC was relatively poor. Plus the online community is somewhat more alive on the consoles then PC. Motorstorm Pacific Rift- If you are looking for an arcade racer of some kind I recommend this. Granted online has had it's plugged pulled a few years ago but the racing is still fun even on your own. Lair- If you can get past the six axis controls they decided to use with it the game's story isn't all that bad and can be fun. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and 2.5- If you never played Kingdom Hearts well now is as good as ever especially when both collections come with three games a piece (granted one of those three for each are just cutscenes), for a good price.
