The idea I have in mind is that high school sweethearts would have plans to get married go to college together etc. but then one of them (Muse A) is drafted into the Army. When Muse A returns from their active duty (4-8 years later), they are determined to find their high school sweetheart (Muse B) and follow through on their plans. However, when Muse A finally tracks down Muse B, they find that Muse B is married to someone else, and has children. It seems all is lost, but a mutual friend of theirs (or something like that) informs Muse A that the relationship Muse B is in is extremely abusive. Muse A then sets out to convince Muse B to leave the abusive relationship, and it all unravels from there.
That is, bare bones, the concept. However, this could go any direction. It can be modern, it can be historical setting, we can add fantasy elements, there are a bunch of things that can come into play.
I prefer to play Muse B, and I prefer to play a female. Muse A can be male or female, it doesn't matter to me.
