And the man staggered out, fill in wits but off his step.
His name was ArcaneUnit. A wizard's Bishop piece in a galactical conquest. He was fit and endearing, well schooled, and ambitious. Lacking a forward social conformity, he had few purposes beyond his political function as a scientific Archbishop. On a board, he played the piece of the Queen. He came back when he fell down, and it didn't matter when he died. The direct result of winning so many chess tournaments your pieces accumulate experience and rank up.
His account rendered poor credits solo. He was literate, an exceptional critique, pragmatic, and enthusiastic.
Otherwise, he was out of shape. Spent too long out in space. Landed amongst a host of strangers who were seemingly civil enough to merit no hostile invasion.
