“Only after disaster can we be resurrected.
It's only after you've lost everything...
that you're free to do anything.
Nothing is static, everything is evolving...
everything is falling apart.”

What is this?
This is a zombie roleplay, but not your average run of the mill zombie roleplay. Additionally this is a reboot of a roleplay I started about a year ago, but fell through. I plan to do things a bit differently this time. I tire of roleplays that deal with struggling to survive the world. The efforts to rebuild. I want to start in the middle of it. I want the world to rain down fire around our characters before we can even establish their importance to this world. I want to watch the world end through many eyes. My roleplays tend not to be happy, or even comical. I tend to write darker themes, tragedy, trauma. Trigger Warning: The Suggestiveness bracket means there will be the implication of mature themes. It is possible I will write something implying things you don't like, actually it's probably guaranteed at some point. I do not water down the cruel realities of the world because I might offend somebody. These themes are definitely likely to include Violence, Drugs, and Religion. Darker taboo things may be implied. If you cannot handle any of this then leave, you have had your fair warning.
Ugh, Zombies. Really?
I said Zombie-esque. I will likely be referring to them as ghouls. In the world they may be called a variety of things; including the Children of Lazarus, The pales ones, and another other name I please. They may follow elements that you may recognize from other places, I can't help it if they do. They will be active at night, giving the characters free roam during the day. At night the ghouls will actively seek you, they will tear you out of every crevice, crack, and corner. They will come in hordes. They will run, sprint, climb, crawl, and do anything to get at you sweet, sweet flesh. These ghouls only walk when they're not hunting, and really that's a nice way of saying the absently stumble around. The ghouls operate off of sound, not sight or smell. They can see, but when idle they will usually be found with their head turned towards the sky. If in doors they will just stumble around blankly, walk into walls, etc. The only real danger during the day since the ghouls seek refuge from the sun, are other people. Oh, and crazy mutant creatures, but we'll get to those later.
So, you said Nation? Adventure?
I did. Somebody has to try to rebuild the world. But that's not saying you have to. You can do whatever you want. Play one character, play two characters, play eleven characters. Play a group of ghoul hunters, play an evangelical church, play an officer Rick, play a Carl, try to rebuild society, fight for territory, exist solely to amuse, whatever. I reiterate, whatever. Now to contradict what I said, you may not control any substantial military force, any scientist associated with the "Blackwater" Project. I want things to be interesting, this isn't an anime where every high school student secretly takes martial arts and kendo classes. This isn't a movie where Bruce Willis does an impossible jump in a car that shouldn't of even started and destroys <insert bad thing here>. Skills take time to develop, resources don't magically appear. You are not, I repeat, ARE NOT going to defeat anybody holding an automatic weapon with <insert random phallic debris here>. Think twice about what wounds you character sustains. Infection is real.
What does Non-linear mean?
I do not do a turn-by-turn system here. I do a day-by-day. You can post as much, or as little as needed, to your heart's desire, whatever. I do expect a post every two weeks are bare minimum, and even then, if that's a constant then I will have to break up with you. I will begin each posting cycle, at 6:00 a.m roleplay time. Each cycle will end once a person has nothing left to post for the day, or when they reach 6:00 a.m. It's not a hard system to follow. Additionally, my world revolves around player action and decision. I constantly keep notes of little, seemingly unimportant things, and throw them back at you later. A word here, a word there, a choice here. Everything can cataclysm into a larger event or problem down the road. This doesn't mean play it safe, play however you want. No matter what you post I will find things to use against your later plot wise, so just have fun.
Once I have enough interest I will open the IC/OOC and we will pick a location to base our story around. I'm thinking maybe a hundred years from now, just to kind of give us a little leeway with technology. (IE: Better artificial limbs, so you can actually run away from my monster) This doesn't mean transformers style hand-to-chain-gun technology. I will also reveal lore as needed, but I will write what your characters would know. Also, once I release character sheet formats, they will PM'd to me. Unless you are collaborating with someone else, there's not reason to know more than what your character would.

[Edit]: It should be noted that I plan to have advancements in human genetics and cybernetics (if you really want to play the dude with wolf ears and tail, then go for it.)
Additionally, there will be Super-mutant like monsters because of these advancements, called Millennium Subjects. These are my monsters to play with, and mine only :)
[Nother Edit]: I will expand upon what blackwater is when we get to it, but what your characters would know is that it accelerates the growth of plants, and has healing properties. It was dubbed "The miracle germ" etc. This will effect the roleplay in various ways, that will be revealed to you when we get there.
What you should note is that smaller plants will grow much faster, and vine overgrowth can happen over night.
This will include paranormal (super?)powers at some point
