The positive effects allows her to very fast and deadly, but for some reason, she has yet to fully control this ability. As a result, the magic almost puts her in a bloodlust state, causing her to be reckless and potentially dangerous to other squadmates. Until she masters it, Essa decided she would only use it
Animal Familiar: Panther
Personality: Her attitude is..... fiery to say the least. While she has yet to see any real action, Essa has exhibited to be one of the most courageous recruits yet, perhaps one of the most motivated ones. Essa seems to exhibit a skill for getting under peoples skin. It always seems like her NCOs and fellow witches grow to love her and help her. This is most likely due to a number of different factors. First, she very straightforward and honest, but understands when to hold back her opinion. She's loud and confident, yet respectful to those she deems have earned it. Finally, despite her seemingly reckless, greenhorn, gung ho attitude, she is an amazing listener. For hours you could talk to Essa, and she will listen to every single bit of it. Perhaps this skill of patience will serve her well in the coming fights.
Bio/History: Essa was surprisingly originally from Bangalore, India. For much of her young life, she lived with a very traditionalist family. Her father was incredibly strict and stern while her mother was quiet and distant. The only family member that actually seem to see her as more than just a means to an end was her Grandfather. Her grandfather was her mother's father, and while it seem the rest of the family tried to distance themselves from him, he still demanded to see his granddaughter. He was an excentric, not traditionalist man with a knack for adventure. He had crossed the great Himalayan Mountains, traveled all over Europe and America, and finally returned home to retire. He told her of her adventures what the outside would was like, wowing her and lighting the fire of adventure in her. Sadly her parents had other ideas. She was an only child, and because of this, she was under a lot of pressure from the get go. It seemed she was destine to marry into a wealthier family in order to increase their own wealth with the wedding set to be on her 14th birthday. However this was never to be. It seemed the stories from her Grandfather had gotten to her and she made her decision.
When she around 12 years old, she ran from home. On that fateful night, she was caught by her Grandfather as she tried to sneak out of the small villa like place they lived in. Without saying a word, he went inside the house and returned a burlap sack and a walking stick. "My years... are waning and my days of adventure are over. You are such a bright girl Essa, and you have become an adult. Not because you were married away, but because you finally made a decision for yourself. Now my dear granddaughter, take my things. I will never need them, but they shall keep you alive and well. Promise me to return with stories of your own. "
"I will grandpa"
"Good. Now go. Get! The sun will be rising soon"
With that, she left her home, maybe to return, maybe to never see it again. For three years she somehow survived, The bag she was given had contained some food, some money, and her Grandfather's old Kukri. It was a unique piece that had been in her Grandfather's family for a long time. Though it soon reached a point where she was out of money, tired, and hungry. The traveling was taking its toll on the young girl and with little place to go for salvation she had wandered into a coastal town. A couple from Ostmark came across her and decided to buy her a meal out of generosity. They too were having their own little adventure. They talked for awhile, and what Essa learned was surprising. The man was named Walter Kranheit and he was a veteran of the First Neuroi War as was his wife, Julia Kranheit. They had promised, in those muddy conditions, to go see the world, get married, have kids, and live the rest of their lives in peace if they survived the war. Sure enough they did, but just barley. His wife was severely wounded, the damage practically making her infertile. The more they talked, the more they found what they had an common. After hours of talking, the couple was finally able to dig out the story as to why Essa was alone. To say they were touched would be an understatement. The day grew late and they said their goodbyes. Essa wondered if people as nice and good as the Kranheits were common than she had come to believe. The next day, she was approached by the couple. They offered to buy her lunch and said they had news for her.
"Now Julia and I talked all through the night about this.... and we are in full agreement about this."
"About what?" Essa asked before taking a sip from her canteen.
"We want to adopt you."
Essa's bright blue eyes widened and she nearly chocked on the water she was drinking. That was that. In the coming month, they returned to Ostmark to live in Essa's new home. For a few years, Essa couldn't be more happy. But life had a way of destroying happiness in the most brilliant manners. For as she finally made herself a new home, the Neuroi invasion started. For a little while, Ostmark held back the Neuroi, but it soon fell due to being in the direct path of the Neuroi invasion. Essa and her family evacuated to Gallia, and then eventually Britannia when Gallia fell. This prompted her to join in the fight against the Neuroi. The Neuroi, like so many others, had fueled her fires and now was gunning to liberate Ostmark and the rest of Europe.....!
"......What?"
"I said, you are being stationed with the First Joint Witch Force in Ming."
"WHAT!?"
So, as lady luck would have it, she was sent with other greenhorns and veterans to help deal with the Hive that was currently terrorizing the Ming Empire and even worse, opening a second front up for Orussia. This has left a bad taste in her mouth to say the least.... but she still remains ever so determined to rid the world of the Neuroi menace.
