Tiane: (Feeling natural somehow huh? I know where he's coming from. It's basically how it happened with me, except, way less painful.)

Miolina: CLASSMATES!

Tiane: Urgh...why...

Nanase: Why I have to arrive at school in the same time as you did?

Tiane: (Yep...)

Miolina: Just a bit of a coincidence.

Nanase: Is it now?

Miolina: Believe it. Anyway, Tiane...

Tiane: ...What?

Miolina: I saw Rayla a while ago. She was heading towards the Celest Gold Mansion.

Tiane: Her family's place? Why?

Miolina: She seemed in a hurry and didn't tell me much. Maybe she had unfinished business there.

Tiane: Well, whatever it is, I'm sure she'll tell us about it when we meet again later. Heck, I'm sure she already got sorted it out.

Miolina: Right. Just letting you know, just in case you were worried.

Miolina heads towards the building, audibly giggling.

Hinamori's presence alone was enough for the students to already start gossiping. They already knew about Himika's solar disposition from a big distance, so she was old news.


Himika: O-ho! Someone's popular already~!

Hinamori: Really? Why? What did I do?

Theo: That's their usual reaction when someone new shows up. Typical student stuff.

Hinamori: I see...

Himika: The same happened to me, but I didn't mind it at all. If someone really stands out, there will be fingers pointed. It's just natural.

Soon enough, Hinamori was refered to as "The New Mysterious Maiden" following "The Former Lord of the Sleep" and the "Super Hype Sister Maiden" around by the students.

A few minutes and some loud whispering from the students later, Theo spots someone familiar.


Theo: (Aha, there's the guy I was hoping to meet.) Hey! Masaru!

Kail: Eating dreams? Is that even possible?

Hiagor: It's more likely than you think.

Kail: Oh...Hey Detective. What brings you here?

Hiagor: Well, I wasn't even planning on being here today but...I received a call and decided to humor the person who wants to meet me.

Kail: Do you know who it is?

Hiagor: No idea. Miolina was like "someone interesting is going to meet you at the guild. Go there and meet her."

Kail: Urgh...

Miolina's reputation as a shady informant was also known to the guild. While everything she said so far wasn't a lie, they were still suspicious of her.


Kail: Are you sure you should be listening to that girl?

Hiagor: She's one of my trusted sources, so I have no reason to doubt her.

Kail: You're going to get into trouble man...

Hiagor: Not a problem. I know how to get out of them, simple as that. Anyway, I'll be outside if anyone needs me.

Hiagor waves a good-bye as he leaves the building. Kail sighs, then heads to the reception table.


Kail: Well, since the boss is still busy with that woman, I'll see who's avaliable right now.

He picks up the phone and calls someone. After getting confirmation that the person on the other side of the line is avaliable, Kail calls Marina and Lucent to follow him.

Barry: Ah, the Willard Case. We are aware of it. Let's hope that he's between the Psychic Users we end up rescuing.

Hinata: Same here.

Saika: Oh, you were still there?

Hinata: Well, I was a bit curious, that's all. You also didn't even talk.

Saika: I had nothing to contribute so...

Hinata: I see. Well, I'll be going out for real this time.

Sheila: Wait!

Sheila showed up at the main hall, disguising her voice thanks to Hinata's presence.


Sheila: Want some company? I was just heading out myself.

Hinata: That would be great.

Sheila: Alright. (Seems like I've just missed the conversation with Astra's Group. Kinda curious to see what kind of people they are.)

Rayla: Home sweet home...for just a couple of seconds.

Drake: Seeing this house just reminds me of how my brother is mad that you're not living with us.

Rayla: I'm sure his opinion about this won't change. I should probably visit more often so that he doesn't get lonely.

Drake: I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

Rayla: Anyway, time to get changed.

Drake: I'll just wait here.

Rayla enters her house while Drake leans by a wall, waiting for his cousin. Then, someone approached him.


Larissa: Um...

Drake: Yes?

Larissa: Excuse me, have you seen this person?

The girl shows a photo of someone very familiar to Drake


Drake: Tsuya!

Larissa: Oh, so you know him?

Drake: We study at the same school after all.

Larissa: (Well, this just sucks...He's probably one of the students that is afraid of him, and most likely won't cooperate.) Actually, forget I said anything.

Drake: What? Why? You didn't even gave me an opportunity to answer.

Drake: Wait, how's the investigation going?

Larissa: No clues at all. That's why I'm asking around.

Larissa gets closer and inspects Drake. He would take a step back if there wasn't a wall behind him.

Drake: Yes, that would be me... (I guess I know why it took this long...)

Larissa: Just through photos and word of mouth. I almost didn't recognize you without that hat.

Drake: (I didn't expect that from someone I haven't even met before...Speaking of that.) Who might you be?

The girl then, shows her fake Guild ID to Drake.


Drake: Ah, a member from the guild. Nice to meet you Miss Sully Geia.

Larissa: Same here. Anyway, sorry for the odd behavior.

Drake: It's okay. I'm to blame since I'm not wearing my "trademark" hat anymore.

Larissa: (Wonder what caused such change.) Now then, time to resume my patrol. See you around.

Larissa turns around and heads further down the street.


Drake: (Tsuya...You better be safe right now. I'm hoping Sully finds something today.)

Drake: (Sully...There's something about her aura that feels...familiar somehow...almost like...)

Rayla: All done.

Drake: Hey.

Rayla: Made an sandwich to eat on the way, want one?

Drake: I do.

Then, they head towards the Guild. Drake wasn't sure where it was located, so he had to rely on Rayla for directions. Then, "Sarissa" occupied his thoughts once more.


Drake: (Oh right, that weird, yet familiar aura I was feeling...Right now, I'm not sure what that is...but I'll see if I can pay close attention if we ever meet again.)

Drake: So, any idea on where are we going?

Rayla: Well, I'm heading back home to change to my student uniform, then head to the Guild.

Drake: Why there?

Rayla: They made me an offer...Which I refused at first. But now, I believe it's about time to change my mind.

Drake: Is that so? Huh?

Drake saw someone familiar leaving a convenience store.


Drake: Ah, it's Nicholas! HEY!

Nicholas: Hm?

Drake: What's up!

Nicholas: Hi Drake. Almost didn't recognize you without that hat.

Nicholas: Wait, I thought your brother was going to keep you locked forever. Did you escape or something?

Drake: Well, alot happened today. Rayla's with me.

Rayla: Hello. Been a while, hasn't it?

Nicholas: Indeed it was. Nice seeing you again Rayla.

Rayla: I would love to do some catch up, but I'm busy at the moment.

Nicholas: Wait, don't leave just yet.

Rayla: Hm?

Nicholas heads back inside the store. A minute later, he comes out with someone.


Rayla: !!!

Karina: Huh? Are those...

Nicholas: Yep. Rayla and Drake, in the flesh.

Karina: I...didn't expect on meeting them now...

Karina: W-well...nice seeing-

Rayla: You moron!

Before she could say more, Rayla hugged Karina. Feeling a very cold sensation from her friends's body, as if winter had arrived early.


Rayla: What are you doing out here? You should be at home.

Nicholas: (Had a feeling she would be on the verge of tears.)

Karina: Well...This is the first time my powers had stabilized in years so...I decided to take this opportunity to see the sun again.

Rayla: Are you really sure about this?

Karina: Absolutely. Anyway, you shouldn't hug me for too long or you'll catch a cold.

Rayla: *sniff* Right...

Rayla released Karina and started wiping off her own tears. Karina had a strange condition for an Ancestor Mage. Her magic was highly unstable, herself and others are always at risk. If her powers went completely out of control, It would freeze everything around her, including herself. Ice generated by her powers wouldn't dissapear if she stopped focusing on it, so in the event of her powers going berserk, it was certain that she wouldn't be able to free herself from her own prison. Her condition started a little bit after the Civil War ended, being forced to stay isolated while struggling to control herself. Being one of her closest friends, Rayla always worried about Karina everyday, not forgeting the days they've spent together.


Karina: Seems like you've been using that jacket I gave you.

Rayla: For quite while, yes...

Karina: It indeed has seen better days. Maybe it's about time I give you another one.

Rayla: T-There's no need to. This one is fine. (This jacket was originally going to be hers, but she sent it to me as a gift...Even though it's supposed to keep her warmed up.)

Karina: Don't be shy. I'll even make sure it matches your skirt, I'm sure you're going to love it. Oh, and I almost didn't recognize you without that hat Drake.

Drake: I have a feeling I'll be getting this a lot.

Karina: Yeah, going to take a while to get used to it.

Drake: The times are changing...just like we are.

Karina: I can tell by your faces that you're going through a rough path...And also that you're planning to tackle it at full force.

Rayla: That's right. We're going to bring back peace to this city, no matter how hard it seems.

Drake: You'll be able to live without having to worry about using your powers.

Karina: I've been hearing stuff about how Rayla wouldn't help protect the city, but I'm relived that this isn't the case anymore. Of course, I wish I could help...But obviously, I can't do that without risking my powers from going out of control so...All I can do is to wish you a succesful journey.

The Platinum Brothers then, starts walking away. Karina says one last thing before she's far away.


Karina: Tell Auror I said hi, and that the unluckiest day of his life is coming.

Rayla: Huh? (Why him?)

Karina: I'm sure you know the answer to that.

Rayla: ...

Drake: Bye Nicholas! Bye Karin! It was nice seeing you two again.

Rayla: (Indeed it was...)

But then, Karina says one more thing.


Karina: Oh, and you're not a kid anymore, so you get rid of those twin tails.

Rayla: Shut it! I'm not doing that.

Karina: One day for sure. **walks away**

Rayla's mind was at peace, seeing that her old friend was doing well after all these years of worrying about her.


Rayla: The last time I've got some news from her was when I received this jacket. Her condition was really bad at the time. She couldn't write the letter so she had someone do it instead.

Drake: Oh, so you got a letter too?

Rayla: That's right. I'm sure she sent a bunch of those for almost everyone she knew...After all, we were worrying for her for a while now.

Drake: Rayla, we'll definitively save this city. There'll be no turning back on this one.

Rayla nods as they resume their walk towards Rayla's home. Walking at a faster pace to make up for lost time.

Marcia: Looks who's here again.

Nero: Sup!

Chizuru: Morning Miss Comet and Mister Nero. You're here to talk with Sister Bell's group, right?

Marcia: You got it.

Chizuru: Very well then. I'll have one of the maids call for her.

Nero sits by a nearby chair and picks a magazine to distract himself, meanwhile, Marcia is at the counter, staring at Chizuru.


Chizuru: Why won't you sit down as well? This won't take long.

Marcia: I would but...that thing from yesterday is still bugging the hell out of me.

Chizuru: Hm?

Marcia: Y'know. The fact that you didn't as much bat an eye to that kid's arm...

Chizuru: What do you want me to do? Not everyone feels like they should express their reactions.

Marcia: It was the fact that you treated it so casually that is annoying me.

Chizuru: M-Maybe because I have nerves of steel? Seeing how the city is so dangerous, I might as well get used to whatever strange events might happen.

Marcia: ...

Chizuru: W-What?

Marcia: Madam Kashiwagi...are you actually...

Before Marcia could complete her question, something grabbed her from behind.


Marcia: Eh? May I help you?

???: No bothering the innkeeper while she's at work. Now sod off!!!

Marcia: ZEEEEEEEE!!!

Marcia gets thrown away, landing near Nero, who just sighs without looking at her.


Nero: I told you not to bother with this.

Marcia: But I'm curious...

???: Have you ever heard of the saying "curiosity killed the cat?"

Chizuru: ...This was a bit...

???: Had to make sure you wouldn't dice her apart after she mentioned the M-Word.

Marcia: Fine, I'll stop... (For now, The least I want right now is fight with the locals.)

???: You better. (Well, guess something good did come out of the school's cancellation.)

Marcia: I dropped a coin and it rolled under Nero's chair.

Sister Bell: Indeed.

Marcia: Well, enough lollygaging, let's start with the "talk."

The group heads to Sister Bell's room. Azusa leans on the counter while looking at them.


Azusa: That's quite the group indeed. I'm guessing that girl in black and white is on to our secret huh?

Chizuru: Seems like it.

Azusa: I guess it makes sense, seeing who she's walking with. A nun, A cowboy with a weird looking gun, a guy wearing a stylish coat and a demonic looking arm...I'm sure at this point that she got an eye for the supernatural.

Chizuru: ...Any suggestions?

Azusa: She's going to find out eventually, so be open and tell her to keep it a secret. It's less stressful this way...

Chizuru: Might as well. Next time she asks me about it, I'll talk to her in private.

Azusa: Great. With that settled, I'm going to unwind at Winter District.

Chizuru: Before you go, see if you can find this person on your way there.

Chizuru hands Azusa a photo of Fear Mace.


Chizuru: She's also with that group. Her name is Fear Maze Rozenkrantz. Tell her that Miss Comet has arrived.

Azusa: Gotcha! I'll be on the lookout then.

Marilee: Indeed. As long as you keep our little alliance a secret, you can do whatever you want. In fact, we do have an assignment for your group.

Barry: You see, a while ago, we discovered the location of a secret base that belongs to the Mysterious Group...aka, The DUST Pharmaceutics Organization. Recently though, we've found out that they have more than one base, so we're not sure if this is their main base. Either way, that place might have some Psychic Users in need of rescuing.

Marilee: And that's where your group enters. While some members of the resistance will attack head on, you'll infiltrate the place while they're busy with us and find their computer room, since that's the place where they keep not only valuable info, but also a Self-Destruct mechanism.

Barry: Any questions?

Hinata: (It's still jarring to think that someone like Mayor Cid Crimson might be behind all of this. As one of the Ancestor Mages that helped form this very city, one would think he would be fighting against this conspiracy instead.)

Hinata: (No only he has to face his sister, but his own son too.)

As Auror left the group, the voices of the dead became distant to Hinamori.

Himika: Are there really vengeful spirits surrounding Auror?

Hinamori: Chances are high...They are either trying to curse him...or...

Kaori: Hina?

Hinamori: All I have to say is: Beware. I might not know him as much as you do, but still, give it the benefit of the doubt.

Music: What's the Strategy?

The group had arrived there by elevator. Rayla was quite upset she didn't find it before, as she still to show Bernard a piece of her mind. But, since Drake had already defeated him, there wasn't need for that anymore. Suddenly, some bandages went flying in her direction.


Rayla: Eh?

Seila: You all look like a mess.

Bernard: You look way worse. I gotta say, this isn't how I imagined a family reunion would be like after all these years.

Rayla: You should thank your brother for that...anyway, can't we choose another place?

Seila: ..I'm still in no condition to fight, so I'll stay quiet.

Rayla: Feel free to try, but next time, I won't be alone, and Drake won't either.

Drake: *nods* Don't think that it will be easy to stop us.

They take a seat, Drake and Bernard treat their injuries while Rayla fixes some bandages that were damaged during her fight against Drake. Once one of the servants arrive to serve food, Bernard continues his explanation.


Bernard: I'm sure Rayla already figured it out what I meant about controlling power...It is to avoid a situation that sadly, ended up happening in another family. The very culprits behind the start of the Civil War all those years ago, the Kresnik Family.

Seila: ...

Bernard: All of the members from the Kresnik Family had developed an ability to increase their strenght to insane levels, by equiping a full body armor that also removed their sensation of pain. Now, combine that with the durability of an Ancestor Mage, and we would have a fearsome foe.

Drake: I see...but that still doesn't explain why I've inherited the sword.

Bernard: ...My guess is that, since Rayla refuses to inherit it, the sword decided to search someone from the family that had a heart like Rayla's predecessors, and it saw that you were the perfect candidate.

Rayla: It can do that?

Bernard: I'm not sure how it really works. The sword was made to be compatible only with a member of the main family, like a soul link of sorts. Never I would've imagined that the sword would willingly break ties with you like that.

Rayla: Maybe...because I'm just like how the branching family was all those years ago...and Drake now represent what the Main Family is supposed to be.

Drake: Eh? But I'm still...

Rayla: I was a coward...only really snaping out of it until recently, and even still, I didn't think I was worth of wielding it. Even if Drake had doubts about his strenght, he wanted, probably more than anyone, to fight for peace. The Holy Sword understood that, and decided that it would be the weapon of Drake's Heart.

Drake: ...

Rayla: I'm okay with that. I believe that he'll do great and will be a worthy protector of Unitia City.

Drake closed his eyes for a moment. Feeling that he was ready to accept the fact that he was now a wielder of the Holy Sword, he finally smiles.


Drake: Got it. I won't let anyone down. I promise I'll fight until the end.

Bernard: ...Guess I'll have to accept that.

Seila: ...

Rayla: Don't you have something to say as well, Cousin Seila?

Seila: ...Congratulations.

Drake: Thanks! That means a lot coming from you.

Seila: Seriously...Don't come crying to me when you all end up dead by that mysterious force I mentioned earlier. I don't know why it didn't kill you yet.

Rayla: Maybe, it can't right now.

Bernard: Mysterious force? What is she talking about?

Rayla: It is about how my father was killed. Just think about it. If said "force" really wanted us dead, it would've already done so. Even before I've decided to fight, there are some people who are still fighting to bring peace to the city.

Seila: I'm guessing "they" don't consider these people a threat...seeing that they couldn't do much.

Rayla: You could be right, but I'll stick with what I've said.

Seila: Hmph...Do whatever you want...

Seila just focuses on her tea and doesn't speak another word, visibly upset at both her cousins. Rayla gets up from her chair, ready to leave.


Rayla: Well, since that everything has been done with, time to go to school.

Drake: Wait, I'm coming too. I don't have school because of that incident yesterday...but, I really can't wait any longer to enjoy my freedom.

Rayla: Well said.

Bernard: Make sure to not get homesick.

Drake: W-What's that supposed to mean?

Bernard: Have fun out there, but be careful.

Drake: I know that.

Both cousins head out. Rayla, glad that her family had finally made peace, and Drake, who had finally earned his freedom.

The battle went on for a while, Rayla was slowly gaining advantage over Drake, getting used to his movements and patterns. Suddenly, she gets hit in the face.


Rayla: Urgh...

Drake: AAAAAAAAH!!!!

Only to counter Drake with a kick that sent him flying once more. He fell on his feet this time, but was clutching his stomach in pain.


Drake: Kah...

Rayla: Not bad. That was really something Drake. You're pretty good!

Drake: Flattery...won't get you to...stop this fight.

Rayla: (Not really my intention but...)

Drake: (Still...It seems that she mostly got used to my moves now. That hit on her was certainly the last...But this is just according to plan.)

Rayla: Well, if you still can go then, bring it on!

Drake: (Alright Rayla, victory will be mine.)

Drake takes a deep breath, takes stance, glares fiercily at his cousin, then dashes foward. Rayla braces herself for the next wave of attacks.


Drake: HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

His last step was a fierce stomp, Drake swung his wooden sword at Rayla.

**Music Stops**

But then, he quickly got punched in the face. As he was being sent away once more, he let go of his sword. The weapon in question being super-charged with magic, as it had spread what was stored in it once it hit the ground.


Drake: ARGH!

Rayla: Had a feeling you would use that. I was finding it weird that I was slowly gaining advantage...And this is why. You were saving a trump card for such moment.

Drake: Urgh...How did you...

Rayla: I felt the power of an explosion when I was heading to this floor, thinking it was Bernard's doing. But it was you all along.

Drake: ...

Rayla: Not a bad plan. Had you used such move sooner, maybe you would've caught me by surprise.

Rayla: That was your last move. Now that your trump card turned out to be useless, victory is mine Drake!

Drake: Dang...DAMMIT!

Drake summoned his sword back to him, then, started charging that attack once more.


Drake: Even with all that trainning, I had to rely on a trick to win...and now even that doesn't work! I'm a failure as an Ancestor Mage.

Rayla: That's not true Drake. You were just unlucky that strategy was...

Drake: A complete mistake...If I can't win with my strenght alone, then how the hell am I going to help this city?

Rayla: ...

Music: The Original Restored World


Af first, Rayla was only planning to interrupt his attack once more, but then, she started charging Fenriswolf.


Rayla: Are you seriously saying crap like that?

Drake: Huh?

Rayla: What do you think this is? You shouldn't feel ashamed at using such tricks. The fights ahead are going to be to the death, not some honorable duels! I thought you learned that with your trainning, but I guess I was wrong. I guess there's only so much to learn when you're by locked in your house, trainning by yourself.

Drake: But...

Rayla: Time to show you that you can't achieve anything with such a weak resolve...And to truly free you from this prison!

Drake: Guh...RAYLAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Rayla: FENRISWOLF!!!


Both fire their attacks, a beam and a unstable blast. As Rayla had said, as soon as both attacks collided, her move was overcoming his. In a few seconds, Drake would be hit for sure if he doesn't start focusing for real.


Rayla: HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Drake: (I'm being pushed back...)

Rayla: ...

Drake: (The attack is too close now...Even if I recover my focus now...)

However, Drake didn't feel like loosening the grip of his sword. He still kept pouring his magic reserves into the attack, even if he knew it was no use. He hasn't given up yet, and still, part of him accepted that Rayla was right.


Drake: (That's right...I was being an idiot all this time. I might not be as strong as Rayla or my brother...but that doesn't mean I should be being so hard on myself like this. I mean, I'm going to fight alongside other people right? We can always help each other against whatever challenge is ahead of us.)

Rayla's Fenriswolf was just a few inches from blasting Drake. Suddenly, he closed his eyes and corrected his stance.


Drake: Still...I don't know why, but I just can't let myself lose this fight!

Rayla: Huh?

Music: Flash! Aerial Fair Spark!


Drake: I still need to know how strong I truly am...That's really something I can't drive away. That's why...I'm not done yet! HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

Drake was now solely focusing on his attack. Rayla could feel a slight push, but knew it wouldn't be enough. However, she started feeling a change in Drake's aura.


Rayla: Huh? (What's with this surge?


From her point of view, she could see his magic aura growing in size and changing color. It was a bright yellow, an aura she knows very well.


Rayla: (No way...but I thought...)

Drake: Grrrrrr....

Drake hasn't noticed yet, but the weapon he was holding at the moment was none other than the Celest Family's Holy Sword. Against all
expectations, Drake managed to awake to it moments before his aparent defeat. The increase in power was enough to push Fenriswolf back.


Rayla: (He's not going to stop until he's exausted...Then...)

Rayla then, cancels her attack since it was still far away from her, then dodges the attack, being blown away by the sudden gust of wind that was created thanks to the sheer force of the attack, sending her to wall. The golden beam of light destroyed everything in its path, managing to easily reach the outside. The guards were astonished by the sudden blast. Some of the older ones reconized the technique.

Guard: To think we would finally see its power once more.

Meanwhile, back at the office, Rayla approached Drake and tried to make him stop.


Rayla: Hey Mr.Shining Knight!

Drake: HAHN?

Surprised, he suddenly lost focus and cancelled the attack, falling on the ground due to the scare. It took him a while to notice what he was holding.


Drake: WHAT IN THE GAAAAAAAACK?

Rayla: Yeah...I felt like screaming too.

Drake: B-But...I thought...

Rayla: I'm confused about it as well.

Bernard: You see...because the rule is actually a restriction.

Drake: Huh?

Bernard woke up, though he couldn't get up yet, since he body was still in pain due to Drake's cheap shot at him earlier.


Bernard: Back when the Celest Gold Family was forging the blade, it was decided that only one branch of the family would allowed to use the Holy Sword. A test was made after they finished the weapon, and Rayla's family was chosen to use the blade for generations, while the other branches were deemed unworthy and would serve the main family as result. There was another reason as well. It was to actually control how much power an Ancestor Family should have.

Rayla: ...You don't mean.

Bernard: Let's talk elsewhere, if possible, with some tea as well.

Rayla: R-Right.

Drake: ...

He walks towards what remained of the exit. He could see the buldings from the hole Drake opened with his attack. Rayla and Drake silently followed him, with Drake still holding the sword.

Kail: Hey Boss!

Nancy: Did something happen?

Kail: An attack at Summer Area, but Mana is already on the case.

Nancy: I see. I hope she can do well.

Gillia: You must be Miss Nancy Serena.

Nancy: That's right. I received a message telling me that you would be coming.

Gillia: Right, now then...

Nancy: Follow me, we'll talk elsewhere.

Kalina: In that case, I'll take my leave. This unexpected detour already took quite a bit of time.

The guard pulls a walkie-talkie and starts communicating with someone.

He gets his order and authorizes the gate to be opened.

Guard: You shall wait for them at them main hall.

Fon Ventorian Mansion - Guess Room

Sheila didn't feel like walking at a fast pace, taking her time until she arrived at the room Kenneth was resting in, opening the door with care, even though he wouldn't wake through loud sounds.


Sheila: (And, I'm finally here...)

Hinata: ...

Sheila: Ah!

Hinata: Hm?

Hinata looked behind her, seeing Sheila hastily pulling the hood over her head.


Sheila: **ahem** Morning.

Hinata: Good Morning. You're Sheila right?

Sheila: **nods**

Hinata: You probably heard about me from Barry, but my name is Hinata Shuusuke.

Sheila: ... (It has been a while...)

Hinata: Not a woman of much words, are you?

Sheila closes the door, then heads towards the window, trying to not make eye contact with Hinata.


Hinata: He's still not waking up...I wonder why.

Sheila: (Your guess is a good as mine.)

Hinata: Is he...going out of control like that again?

Sheila: ...Depends on him...

Hinata: I heard that it was his decision to help you guys...but...I don't think he should keep fighting. He'll just hurt his friends if this keeps up.

After a bow of respect, Hinata leaves the room. After making sure she wasn't around, Sheila pulls down her hood and sits at the chair Hinata was moments ago.


Sheila: Seems like you've been doing well...Sorry I couldn't truly talk to you Hinata...but one day...

Kalina: Nicely done everyone.

Tiane: I feel like we can't lose to anyone after this.

Kalina: You should be careful with that confidence. Remember, you had help from me and that red-haired man. I could tell he is very experienced.

She tries to put them out, not being able to move for a while.

After finding some bandages to close her wounds, Rayla kept going towards Bernard's Office. After a while, she heard a loud explosion coming from above.


Rayla: (The battle escalated to that level? I have to hurry.)

Then, she reached the top floor. Rayla could only feel a faint magic signature from the office.


Rayla: So...It's over?

She slowly approached the door, taking some deep breaths as she touched the handle, then opened it.

Music: Hamel

What she saw wasn't something she expected, but it was something she hoped it would happen. Bernard was laying near a wall, unconcious, while Drake, stood there, breathing heavily while he was trying to process what had just happened.


Drake: I...did it? This...isn't a dream...is it?

Rayla: Drake!

Drake: Rayla? What are you doing here?

Rayla: Well, after that phone call of yours, how I would NOT be here?

Drake: But...I thought...You wouldn't bother...

Rayla: You thought wrong. I'm here now, believe it or not.

Drake: ...Right...I guess you thought I was going to lose...right?

Rayla: I was worried, sure...but deep down...A part of me wanted to believe you would pull through...or at least hang in there long enough.

Drake: Really?

Rayla: I wouldn't lie about this.

Drake: I see... (Those wounds...I guess she fought against Cousin Seila...And actually won. That's not something I thought was even possible. She went through all that trouble to help me...Wait, if she's actually here...that means.)

Rayla: I was going to have a long talk with Bernard...but I guess that won't be necessary...

Rayla: Still...Sorry for taking so long...

Drake: ...

Rayla: Right...I don't think that's something that can be forgiven so easily...This whole mess is my fault after all.

Rayla: But now, we're going to fight together, in order to bring back peace to this city.

Drake: I...

Drake grips his wooden sword tighter, looking at Rayla with a fiercer look.


Rayla: W-What?

Drake: Cousin Rayla, does this mean you're going to finally inherit the Family's Holy Sword?

Rayla: Well...

The Holy Sword, a magic weapon that can only be inherited by someone who has the blood of the main family. A powerful sword that can amplify the user's magic ability to great levels. It's the embodiment of the destruction an Ancestor Mage can cause, a bright light that consumes everything. Rayla was supposed to inherit after her father died, but due to her negligence, she never got to use the sword, and thus, her base magic has no element.


Rayla: I'm not sure If I deserve it...After all this time just minding my own business, I don't think I'm worthy to use such power.

Drake: But, if you don't...

Rayla: Yeah...I know this looks like I'm looking away at the issue once more...but...I just can't do it.

Drake: Rayla...

Rayla: Sorry Drake...But I guess I'll just keep fighting as am I now. I think I'm strong enough right now.

Drake: ...I see...It's good to know you're confident in your strenght.

Drake: Too bad the same can't be said for me.

Rayla: Drake?

Music: Innocent Tripper


Drake: Rayla, prepare yourself.

Rayla: E-Excuse me?

Drake: Even though I've beaten my brother, I still can't tell how strong I've become...That's why, I'll test my strenght against you instead!

Rayla: Wait! N-Normally, I wouldn't mind, but, aren't you tired from your fight?

Drake: Same as you, so we're even. I need to be sure if I can overcome anyone, if what I truly have really is enough. That's why, Cousin Rayla, I will defeat you! Then I'll truly know if I'm strong or not.

Rayla: (Urgh...There's no talking out of this one.)

Drake: PREPARE YOURSELF, AND DON'T YOU DARE HOLD BACK!

She jumped over Drake's slash, seeing a small hole from where she last stood. When she landed on the floor, Drake continued his assault, attacking with a flurry of slashes. Rayla managed to parry one of the attacks, but then, Drake immidietaly pushed her away to a wall, the same one Bernard was near to.


Rayla: Argh...

Drake: I've said not to hold back...I won't hesitate to go all out.

Rayla: (This certainly won't be like Seila's battle...)

Rayla this time, ducked under his next attack. Then, she spotted Bernard's wooden sword.


Drake: Come back here!

Rayla: !!!

She quickly picks it up, then blocks Drake's incoming strike, being pushed away a bit.


Drake: Please...don't go soft on me. I really need this. If you don't, then I'll force you to use the Family's Holy Sword.

Rayla: What? Why do I have to agree to that?

Drake: Because we need to be strong Rayla! How are we going to overcome the challenges ahead if we don't get stronger?

Rayla: ...Alright, if you really want to...

Music: Keep Existing

Rayla throws Bernard's sword away and starts powering up. Drake was a bit thrown back by the pressure, but managed to stand firm, powering up as well.


Rayla: I'll defeat you as who I am. This may sound like I'm abandoning our family's power for good...But I don't need to follow traditions or anything if it means protecting the city.

Drake: This isn't about traditions Rayla. This is about what is necessary.

Rayla: Then it won't be a necessity for me, plain and simple. I decided how I want to get stronger. Sorry, but this is how I feel. Now let's get on with this. It's what you want right? So don't come whining when I wipe the floor with you!

Drake: Well said! Let's do this Cousin!

Both: HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Both clashed their strikes, creating a violent shockwave that made the nearby papers fly away. Suddenly, Drake saw himself being thrown away by Rayla's punch, colliding with a wall.


Drake: Urgh...Ah!

Rayla: Hya!

Drake almost got hit by Rayla's flying kick. He took this opportunity to start attacking her again. They started trading violent blows, until Drake got punched away once more.


Drake: ARGH!

Rayla: I'm not done yet!

Drake: (She's relentless!)

Drake went for another slash. This one was something Rayla wouldn't be able to avoid, so she parried the attack and started holding the sword.


Rayla: So, is this good enough for you?

Drake: I'm glad...that you didn't let yourself get weaker.

Rayla: You think so? I think I was stronger back when Mom was alive.

Drake: Really?

Rayla: I guess...Never really tried to know...But that's enough of that.

Drake: Wah!

Rayla managed to throw Drake away to a wall once more, however, he kicked it as he got closer, then launched himself back at her. She ducked under the attack and fired a blast of energy at him. He deflected it once he landed. Then, they started trading blows once again. It was clear that none of them would back down at this point.

Tiane: Go to hell and take your nightmares with you!

Tiane did a fierce foward stab, striking a pose after she was done with the attack.

Summer Area - Streets


Fear Mace: Yeah, I guess I'm up for some lamp chop. Ha!

Taking stance, Fear Mace dealt a diagonal slash towards Doremy.


Yomi: Interesting, but not something worth worrying.

The true purpose of Yomi's floating sigils was to set points where she could teleport to. Then, activating one of them, she teleported behind Rasel, following it up with a spinning slash with both her knives.

Kail: Right. Your mind's made up and I won't change it. I'm just worried about that weird glaive. Touko has been analyzing it all night and nothing has come up yet.

Kalina: Hey! Leave those ones to me.

Tiane: Eh?

Kalina: If what he's saying is true, then he's just going to distance himself in order to summon more of those monsters while you're busy. You can't allow him that luxury.

Tiane: I see what you mean.

Kalina: Now brace yourselves, the next attack is going to be big.

Tiane: I'm counting on you!

Kalina: Don't miss this chance! THUNDER RAIN!!!

Kalina jumps high, then starts raining lightining bolts down on the bigger nightmares, in an attempt to open a path for Tiane, Xaizor, Jin and Marina to chase Agito.

Yomi: Glad to know I can trust you. Now then.

Yomi started pointing her knife in different directions while pressing a button in it, making floating sigils appear around them.


Yomi: Alright Miss Nightmare, make your move!

Meanwhile Fear Mace carefully watched the pattern of Doremy's attack, waiting for a safe spot for her next action.


Fear Mace: Sadly for you, I'm without my shield today, meaning that my already high jumps...well...Let's just say that turning into a giant sheep wasn't one of your best ideas.

Music: Steel Beowulf

Fear Mace stomped the ground, cracking it. Then, she jumped very high thanks to her massive strenght. Once she reached a certain height, she prepared her attack.


Fear: (They said to shout, but no way in hell I will.) Ultimate Sister Kick.

Saying the name of her attack with her normal tone of voice, Fear Mace comes down diagonally with a powerful flying kick that easilly tore through Doremy's bed projectiles.

Tiane: Just great...They get reinforcements too.

Kalina: Keep advancing! I'll provide cover fire.

Tiane: Got it!

Kalina: I won't let those orbs hit anyone. Hah!

Kalina then, started sniping down Veigas' dark orbs with lightining bolts she fired from her fingers.


Tiane: C'mon you creeps! I'll stab all of you DOWN!!!

As she said, Tiane started thrusting any nightmare that dared approach her, making her way towards Agito.

Summer Area - Streets


Fear Mace: Eating dreams huh? Mine are pretty boring...I live at my own pace, not worrying that much about what I would want for the future.

Then, Fear Mace pulled out a black katana and starts cutting down the table heading towards her.


Fear Mace: But I guess those do save me from having shitty nights...so I'd like to stay with them.

Meanwhile, with Yoru and Mia.


Yoru: Tch...It's not even summer yet and she wants to heat things up.

Yoru: Well, guess I'm lucky that we've been paired together. This means you can keep what you'll see from now on a secret.

The fire seemingly hit Yoru, but one could only see a burning pile of clothes on where she was supposed to fall. Far ahead from Mia, there was someone quickly running towards Rasel, carrying two knifes. This was Yoru's true identity, Yomi.


Yomi: I'm under contractual obligation to take you down. If you don't like it, take your complaints to the govement if you please!

Yomi attacked Rasel with a foward somesault kick.

Music: At the Time of Separation

Bernard was sorting through some paperwork, making sure it was all in its rightful place. Then, he heard a knock on the door.


Bernard: Enter.

It was Drake, this time, sporting a different look. Bernard was startled at first, but quickly recovered his composture and put the papers he was holding on his desk.


Bernard: Not going to wear that hat today?

Drake: I decided to finally put him in retirement...As a farewel to my past days.

Bernard: I...see... (As expected, he didn't take my decision well...)

Drake: (Urgh...It's hard to look at him in the eyes.)

Bernard: What is it? You didn't come here just to say hello, right? Speak up!

Drake: (C'mon Drake, don't lose your confidence. If I fail here, I'm not sure if I'll get another chance...)

Drake took a deep breath, then, looked at his brother with conviction.


Drake: Brother...I challenge you!

Bernard: Excuse me?

Drake: I want to fight you, with the price of victory being my freedom!

Bernard: ....

Drake: I've thought a lot about it...But I just can't bear with staying away from my friends...I want to be at their side...I want to help them in any way I can. I want to peform my duty as an Ancestor Mage. I've been training alot...but what use is strenght if I can't use it to protect what's dear for me? I wouldn't be able to stay like this forever...I know you mean well for me...but...

Bernard: Enough!

Bernard gets up from his chair and jumps over his desk, brandishing a wooden sword.


Bernard: I've heard enough of this. I won't let you go out there and risk your life when that's supposed to be Rayla's job...but wait a moment..SHE ABANDONED HER DUTIES!

Drake: In that case...I'll take over she left off. This is what was supposed to happen from the beginning.

Bernard: Heh...Where I've heard that before? Oh right, we've had this conversation once.

Drake: This time, I'm willing to follow my own path...I'm sorry brother, but I've decided. I'll fight for this city, even if it kills me!!!

Bernard: Drake...

Drake: I'll show that I can do it! I'll make you accept my resolve!

Drake then, summons his own wooden sword, taking stance and charging up his magic.


Drake: HERE I COME!

Bernard: Hopefully...this is the last time I have to put you on your place...as my dear brother that should stay out of harm.

Bernard powers up as well, then, they clash swords, creating a strong shockwave with their impact.

Rayla: GAH!!!

Rayla was kicked towards the building, breaking through the door and landing over a table that broke with the impact. She was holding one of Seila's swords while clutching her stomach from the same kick that sent her flying. When she got up, she saw Seila entering the place.


Rayla: So...Drake is fighting his brother right now?

Seila: I stopped eavesdroping when the battle started...sure that Bernard would win.

Rayla: Where does that confidence comes from?

Seila: Need I mention my unbreakable will again? It is the same with him. Plus, he's the older brother, he had more time to hone his skills.

Rayla: But what if those skills had dulled?

Seila: He wouldn't allow himself to get weaker if it meant being able to protect his little brother.

Rayla: Well, You have a point...

Seila: Oh right, before we continue...

Seila presses a button hidden in her watch, teleporting the sword Rayla was holding back to her.


Rayla: Geh! Warp weapon technology.

Seila: Think of it as a failsafe in the event I fight another rogue Ancestor Mage...someone like that Ancestor Family that out parents had to fight during the civil war.

Rayla: ...

Seila: I also removed the teleport mark you've left on my sword, so don't go thinking you can use my own weapon against me.

Rayla: Well...It wouldn't be you if you weren't this efficent.

There was a moment of silence, Seila preparing for another assault. Then, Rayla kicked the broken pieces of the table towards her cousin, who slashed them away.


Seila: (Using nearby objects to distract me huh? Wise plan, but against me, it's just a cheap trick.)

However, instead of attacking, Rayla had vanished from the room entirely. Seila, sending Rayla's magic power, noticed she was heading to the floor above.


Seila: (Okay...Unless she's really desperate, there's no way she would abandon the fight like this...)

Seila held her swords in reverse grip, jumped, and then, kicked the ceiling above her, opening a hole in it.


Seila: (I'm not falling for your trap if that's what you're thinking.)

She jumps again, reaching the second floor right as Rayla had arrived as well.


Seila: There!

Then, she pointed her swords at her cousin. Pressing the triggers on her swords, they start firing energy projectiles at Rayla, who dodged and reflected them away.


Rayla: That one didn't work either.

Seila: I've been in warzones. Do you think tricks like this have any effect on me?

Thanks to some of the reflected shot landing near Seila's feet, the floor crumbled under her, making girl lose balance. Rayla ran foward, taking the opportunity to strike while Seila's guard was down. The floor completely collapsed, making Seila fall back to the first floor.


Seila: Urgh...

Rayla: HAAAA!

Guessing that Rayla's next punch was going to hit her with a shockwave if Seila decided to dodge, she instead decided to block the attack.


Seila: (In this position, she won't be able to dodge a kick once I intercept her punch.)

Rayla: (Got you!)

However, Rayla punched earlier than expected, firing a beam from her fist, hitting Seila with the full brunt of the attack. Once Rayla landed, she took her stance and waited for Seila's next move.

Suddenly, Seila was right in front of Rayla again.

Seila: I commend you for finding that out. I've fought through many battles. many of them bringing me to the brink of death...Until I was too powerful for them to handle. Your random street thugs can't even compare.

Rayla: ...

Rayla had a guess on what was Seila's next move, running foward in order to throw off Seila's concentration. Seila blocked Rayla's incoming punches, almost losing her balance.

Rayla: Of course...Mom showed it to me a couple of times...mostly for entertainment sake. I'm not going to allow you to use this move like that.

Seila: What are you talking about? This is the original purpose of this move. Sadly for you...

Suddenly, Seila summons two after images, surrounding Rayla in a blink. It was a move that temporarily increases Seila's speed to the extreme. Rayla wouldn't be able to run, nor being able to track her cousin through sensing her magic.


Rayla: AH!

Seila: I've managed to overcome the weakness of this attack. No matter what you do, you won't throw away my focus!

Then, Rayla started being slashed from many directions, trying her best to endure the pain while concentrating another magic blast for a possible opening, even if the chances of finding one were almost zero. Then, Seila came from above, ready to deal the final and crippling strike.


Seila: Golden Lilly Crown It's over Rayla!

Rayla then, caugh Seila mid-air, making sure she wouldn't hit the ground. When they landed, Rayla put Seila on the ground, then, started heading towards the building.


Seila: Wait...Have you...forgotten already? An attack like that...won't defeat me...so easily...

Rayla: Guess not...

She saw Seila activating Golden Lilly Crown again. The Swordswoman and her after-images slowly walking towards their opponent with a fierce expression.


Seila: You have quite the nerve...abusing the fact that I don't want to kill you...

Rayla: And I'll do it again if you don't stay down. I can tell you're way stronger than me...but you're holding back for my sake.

Rayla: Though...I guess I'm quite the same...I could've just used Fenriswolf instead ...But I guess when it comes to family...I grow soft.

Seila: You should be grateful...that I'm giving you an opportunity to drop this madness...If you want to keep going...then know, this will be your last mistake...HAAAAAAAA!!!

Then, Seila starts moving at high speeds again, Rayla bracing herself for the onslaught of slashes once more.


Rayla: Aaaaargh....

Seila: YOU WON'T ESCAPE THIS TIME!

Rayla kneeled in pain, Seila once again, came from above, the final strike was coming next.


Seila: May your life change for the better...

Rayla: My...life...HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER!!!

Then, Rayla got up, just in time to parry the last strike, holding both sword before they could peform the cross slash. Still, she was feeling like Seila's weight was increasing.


Rayla: Urgh...Using your magic to jet yourself to the ground.

Seila: I won't lose here! Why are you rejecting something that's for your sake?

Rayla: Seila...thanks for being such a caring cousin...Even though I don't agree with what are you doing, your love to your family is really appreciated.

Seila: Kurgh...Oh...

Seila then, remembered something. In terms of raw magic power, Rayla had the advantage. So while the Lilly Yellow family specialized in increasing their speed to unimaginable levels, they couldn't match the Celest Family in strenght and destructive power.

Rayla: WOLF FANG!!!
