Ramekins

Name: Ramekins

(Just Ramekins. A nickname he has adopted from the pronounciation of his long but actual name and the little crucibles that are strewn alongside his workplace. This rodent does not like to reminesce about his past.)

Appearance: Ramekins or Ramy, is a rather fetching rodent with long dusty grey fur, intact whiskers and a white chest area. There are three red stripes vertically along his back. Ramekins can be described as 'more tail than mouse', he is slightly shorter than many of his peers. His tail, on the other hand, is inversely much longer and bushier than most of the other rodents'. He was made fun of that when he was younger, but he outgrew that ...mostly.

His outfit is usually loose hooded robes (colours vary) with lots of pockets where he can keep herbs and reagents safe, as well as to stash hidden weapons and trinkets. Not being seen as armed to the teeth at all times makes him seem slightly more approachable than some of the other Watchers, though it causes other Watchers to underestimate his efficiency as a warrior as well.

Personality: Ramekins is an oddball, his passion for the occult and preternatural has led him to become well-versed in natural philosophy and, consequently, a little bit of a medicant himself. He is highly superstitious and regards each mystery with scientific curiousity, believing that no theory should be left unregarded in the quest to better mousedom. He tends to be a little naive when it comes to the harsher aspects of the world, but that's just his motto showing through: Nothing's impossible, we just haven't found a way yet.

He is generally bookish and lazy - prefering to read or experiment or even better yet, sleep! Over swinging swords and/or sparring. Sadly, the latter is neccessary as a Watcher. In the neccessity of combat, Ramekin employs tricks and suprise weapons to befuddle his foes. Dust, poison (only benign ones like itching mist, for duels) and less mainstream methods are his prefered weapons. He has a mandatory sword though, for when people want a 'fair fight', which he really does not think it is when they are picking on a mouse like him.

In the Watch, he often tends to the apothecary and help out with paperwork.

Outside the watch, he keeps Bees that pollinate plants at the monastery and makes a bit of extra on the side by brewing mead out of unsold honey and selling them to the various local inns. He carries around a plush bee doll in his workbag for this purpose.

Others: Ramekins is a practical vegetarian and generally finds the idea of eating bugs and fish repulsive. Though, he has no qualms with ridding the world of carnivorous ones ...and even cooking them, but only out of spite.

He also dislikes cheese. Which idiot decided to ruin perfectly fine, good, milkweed sap?

His cloak is a Royal Blue and is treated with citrus wax.

...you need aluminium/iron oxide dust as a reagent and catalyst to make Performic acid explosive at room temperature. Get that at the smithy.

That formic acid can do you in, do you mind if I play as the one who treated/helped treat your wounds when you were brought back but vouched against the amputation?

It still went through but my character wasn't too genial about it and thought it could be saved. :/.

This thread is just so radiant, so vibrant ...it feels me with this strange feeling I can't comprehend whever I read it.

....But I know that it is what I need after going through the lousier parts of RPG. So though I may have nothing to contribute here, I just wanted to say to you fine bunch:

In regards to dropping roleplays and user attractiveness

Perhaps the problem is with you - in that you tend to accept requests from fickle roleplayers?

@71452K the underlines aren't really helping you, it makes your post a bitch to read. But I got the gist of it. I don't think you are right - my best RP is currently ongoing for close to a year (like 9 months) and thrives purely on the promise that we will each get a post out at some point in the future whether that be in 2 weeks or 2 months. We have had intervals of a month, even 2 at some point, because of life and IRL occupations.

Doesn't mean either of us are going to drop it because we are both invested in it and want to see where the story takes us. It helps that we have a clear cut idea of where we want to move the story - but the pacing is important. And not necessarily to up the pacing, but to take your time.

I'm just trying to help here, you know, because your question is one with more than a singular answer. We're not the enemy. The underlines are to highlight important points, I mean here's someone trying to answer your topic in a civillized helpful manner and you're complaining about it in such a rude, hateful manner? What's the point?

I wrote down facts that I've discovered through years of writing, in order to maybe provide an insight into your ...question(?). If you don't agree with it, I'm alright with it, we all have different experiences, but don't go bitching about answers we give you because they weren't what you wanted to hear or that there were some underlines (that were meant to help you btw). I'm just saying that these people you're so hateful towards, may just require some learning and maybe cut them some slack because they don't realize it? Why the heck are you attacking us?

Are you seeking answers? Or just for someone to agree with you? ...What a waste of my effort. 😥.
