Zuri was relived that she made it back along with most of her teammates. The first week was very relaxing, especially after such an important mission of recovering one of the paragons, not to forget the death of a fellow teammate. Even though she wasn't particularly close with Zoey, Zuri felt a little bit sad that she was killed off. She tried not to think too much about her death, but it soon lead to thinking who might get seriously injured or even die in the next mission.

She heads out of the mansion to practice honing her abilities and experiment a bit. She decided to work on and hopefully improve her defensive abilities so she can be more well-rounded as a magic user so she can contribute more towards the team. Ever since she made the decision that she would work on bettering herself, Zuri spent a few hours everyday casting defensive abilities with a variety of strength, shapes and sizes. When she first started out, it took quite a while before she could throw a shield of some sort up. Over time, she could throw up shields further away from her. However, to avoid spending too much mana, she only keeps them up for a very short period of time as she was only working on executing these abilities and the time required to throw them up.

Zuri eventually learned that Felix and Travis have made good use of the power that the paragon had, allowing any of us to create a world from their own imagination. She finds her way to the place where Felix and Travis usually hang out to do their research. Zuri nods and smiles as a greeting before she hurries and takes the confined paragon and enters the room that was rigged with complex runes that allowed her to take advantage of it's power. She closes the door behind her, the paragon on the palm of her hands as she places it close to her heart, closes her eyes and starts imagining a very simple but peaceful field of grass as far as you can see with a few trees scattered around. She opens her eyes in awe as everything looked so realistic. She begins to fall in love with such power as she terraforms a small lake that runs through the land. Zuri places a few animals such as tigers, rabbits, birds, and elephants scattered around the grassy field and sky and says "This should be good enough."

She throws up a few dummy targets at different ranges to sharpen the accuracy of her offensive abilities, throwing a large unrefined crystal shard that bolted towards the target directly at center mass, piercing right through the target and landing very far away. Zuri wanted to optimize the use of her mana so that she doesn't spend excessive mana on each and every spell she casts. She starts giving it some thought, thinking out loud "Hmm.. I could make the shard smaller.. but then I'd be less effective.. Maybe sharpen the rough corners so it does more damage? But that would only make the cast times slightly longer.." as she continues to put more thought into optimizing this spell. "I could try to create a shard that doesn't last as long since it loses it's purpose after it hits the target." Zuri finishes before she raises her arm again, creating a runic circle and applying these properties onto it before shooting out another one at the furthest target.

The shard strikes against the target dummy and knocks it over. A few seconds later, the shard fades away. Zuri could feel that it used less of her mana, quite substantially in fact. She decides to replicate the same rune, however adjusting it just slightly so it shoots six smaller shards, with the same amount of piercing power. She aims it at the closest target and throws the spell without any hesitation. It acts similarly to a shotgun shell. Zuri felt like there is still lots to do to optimize her most basic spell, but she wanted to jump straight to moving targets. She spawns three men that looked exactly like the ones they the group was killing to recover the paragon a few weeks ago. "That should do it." she says as they start walking in one direction.

Zuri aims her runic circle in the general direction and throws a shard a little ahead of where they will be, compensating for the travel time but not gravity as her shards travel directly towards the target. It strikes against one of the target's arms, taking it off completely. "Ouch." she comments before she thinks about adding lock-on with her projectiles. The two men started running towards her, however they were all unarmed so she didn't feel that worried. She quickly adjusts the runic circle and aims it directly at the two targets so it can lock-on before moving her runic circle a little bit off target to see if her changes actually works. Two projectiles shot out and traveled with a curve, however both projectiles strikes the same target. "Guess I've still got some more work to do." she says as the last target started to get very close. She throws up the runic circle that shoots out a scatter version of the basic attack and aims it directly at center mass. It blows him away, showering the grass with the blood of her enemies before the shards vanished, leaving holes in his chest.

She repeats the same steps using different spells with different targets, ranging from armed targets with guns to magic users, practicing her defensive abilities and adjusting her spells on-the-go as she experimented. It wasn't long before she has spent three whole hours inside this illusionary paragon world. There was an awful lot of dead bodies and blood all over the place, but she felt fine since they were all but real. Zuri spent a bit of time adjusting the lock-on mechanism so it would strike each target at least once. She looks up into the sky, locks onto a handful of birds that were flying in the sky and shot out enough lock-on shards with a few extras in case a few of them missed. It followed each bird like missiles before striking most of them down.

Zuri felt a bit fatigued from all this use of magic since she wasn't used to such long practice sessions. "I guess it's time to take a break.." she says as she takes out the paragon and triggers it so that this world would collapse on itself so that she could exit this room. It takes a few minutes, but it eventually finishes, revealing the room that she was in before constructing the world as she reaches for the door handle and opens it slowly. Zuri takes a peek outside and sees Travis and Felix still at it. She walks up to them and asks "Shouldn't you two get some rest?" as she places the paragon back where she found it.
After Zuri wiped off all her tears, she noticed Felix apologizing for making her sad. "No no, you don't have to apologize! I should be thanking you and everyone else for helping me." Travis saying that he'll also be staying to help with removing this curse from her was also very reassuring. "Thanks Travis, it means a lot to me." She says, feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
Travelling through the dark tunnel felt like an eternity, even though it only lasted for roughly half a minute. She closed her eyes as she lays close to her kiteshield, bracing for impact. She didn't bother looking at what was in front of her, however she could tell when she got closer to the end of the ride when her surroundings started to grow brighter.

Zuri crashes into the water with quite an impact, slowly drifting deeper and deeper towards the bottom. As she returns to her senses, she opens her eyes and propels herself back to the surface with small magical platforms on the bottom of her feet. Zuri resurfaces and starts to cough from the water that went through her nose.

She rubs her eyes and starts to scout for her teammates. Zuri spots a boat of some sort so she starts swimming over to it. Soon later, Felix emerges from the skies and hovers above the surface of the water. She was relived that this mission has finally come to an end. She hops onto the boat and walks through the portal that was graciously opened by Felix.

Soon after stepping through, Zuri was welcomed by the warmth of a spell that dried everyone off. The sense of relief was soon overshadowed by the serious tone when Felix started to explain his situation. When he was done, tears started to run down Zuri's eyes and she doesn't even notice at first. She thought she had it rough with the curse that was placed on her, but at least she still has more freedom. Zuri felt bad for Felix. She wants to help him. No matter what. She wipes off her tears and smiles.

"I.. I'll see this to the very end, and nothing will change my mind." Zuri finishes with a gentle sniff.
Zuri watched as Travis took the paragon out of the skeleton's hand. What followed was the feeling of dispair when the small ball of energy formed and started sucking everything, starting from the skeleton's ribs getting torn right off into the void. The force of the void was growing stronger and larger, even though she was constantly backing off, running was not an option as the power soon became way too strong to fight, and even if she could use her powers, it seemed futile as she would rather die with her teammates than to be a lone survivor.

Zuri watches as Nemo gets taken in, and since she was clueless on what it does, the safest bet was to assume he's gone. "It was nice knowing all of you.." she mumbles to herself before she creates a large kiteshield using the same technique that was used for her armour before she runs towards the void and jumps into it before disappearing right into it, holding the shield closely with her to soften the impact if there was anything beyond this point of no return.
Zuri stood very still when Nemo told both Travis and her what it means to kill and how it comes back to haunt you forever. She didn't say a word as she was too deep in thought about how Nemo feels and the idea of ending someone's life being more than what she thinks it is. However when Nemo walked past, she noticed that he turned around to whisper into Travis' ear before he headed towards Raiya.

'I wonder what he told Travis..' Zuri didn't really think too much about all the killing that has happened since it was either her group or the people who opposed them that had to die. She has only killed people as an act of self-defence and never for vengeance which is maybe why she doesn't truly understand this concept. She took a few seconds before she started to move towards Nemo and Raiya that stood close to the runic gates. Zuri didn't say a word when she walked past Travis.
Zuri was glad to see Nemo still alive and walking, even though he wasn't in the best of state. She watches as Nemo approached the group as he took out his revolver and ended Rutger's life in a blink of an eye. She stood there in silence as blood started leaking out of the lifeless body that lied on the floor, creating a small puddle from the gunshot wound. "Shall we continue?" Zuri says in a lighthearted manner.
Zuri was ready to stop Rutger's last ditch attack but Raiya jumped in and took care of it instead. Even though Zuri wanted to take a few stabs at Rutger, she knew that Raiya's hatred for this Mage goes way back, the history between these two are deep, and it would be rude of her not to back off and let Raiya finish the job.

She took a deep breath before closing her eyes and returns to her normal state, her armour fading away underneath the cloak. Zuri's emotions also returned to normal, her mind more clouded than usual along with a slight headache, however it was nothing to worry about. She used roughly a quarter of her mana for the brief time she has remained in this form, so she knew that using it for every encounter was definitely not a viable option, at least not for a long period of time.

Zuri used to be quite fit, but getting trapped in a frozen crystal for such a long time has taken a toll on her physical fitness by a bit. She breathed harder than usual to catch her breath. Her heart rate also started to slow down from all the adrenaline was that flowing through her when she was in her transformed state, especially when she rushed towards Rutger without a reliable backup plan other than activating the rune Travis marked on the back of her hand.

"So.. it's finally over?" She says with a pause in the middle as she recovers from fatigue. Zuri dusts off the bits and pieces on her cloak and lets out a sigh of relief. She was glad that her teammates were still standing after such an intense encounter against such a powerful foe.
Zuri puts away the other two small infused crystals in one of the pockets on the inside of her cloak as she watches as the crystals seemed to be quite effective, even going so far as to stopping one of his spells. She starts sprinting directly towards Rutger with the rune Travis gave her in her left hand, ready to activate it when she's close enough.

She was closing in fast, each step faster than the one before it. Zuri throws herself directly at Rutger, fearless and reckless, hoping that everything will work out, extending her arm and aimed it directly at Rutger when she was near point-blank range and poured sufficient mana to trigger the rune. Even though Zuri didn't know, she had a huge grin on her face, her eyes glowing ever so slightly. The side-effects of using this form was starting to show, and the scary thing is that Zuri wasn't aware of it.
Too much was happening and the time was ticking down. Zuri didn't have any time to think about anything other than to focus on taking Rutger down. Without wasting any more time, she takes the rune that Travis gave her and placed it in her non-dominant hand, which is her left. Zuri made sure she had a good grip on it before she started to run towards Rutger at a curved angle.

She kept a close eye on Travis's movement and action, and as he takes out the shotgun, Zuri stops and aims her right arm directly at Rutger's center mass, swiftly throwing up a rune in front of her palm before a shard, the size of a baseball bat bolted out at a very high speed with a barrier-piercing tip, flying directly towards Rutger in a straight line.

Zuri follows up with another attack, this time taking a little bit longer than before as she creates three small crystals, a little larger than marbles, infused with mana along with the effects of the curse that she has been living with for so many years.

What she held in the palm of her right hand was a highly concentrated cluster of crystal grenades that explodes when she triggers it instead of after a certain time or on impact to avoid it getting redirected and hurting her own allies. When triggered, it will release an explosion, similar to fireworks, a dark powder-like cloud that latches onto anything it can feed off. Zuri throws one of them directly at Rutger and triggers it when it's quite close to him, releasing a dark powder-like cloud that slowly creeps towards Rutger.

These grenades were something really special, as it contained a very experiential type of magic that has been long forgotten. Through many years of cultivation, this dark corruptive magic was infused into a mana crystal. Long story short, Zuri was jabbed and horribly infected by this curse and entrapped soon later in the large crystal she broke out of just roughly a week ago. Through the thousands of years, the darkness corrupted her mana pool and fed off it for a few hundred years before her body was able to overtake this curse and take control of it. As it was developed to be a magic suppressor, Zuri's power is still being suppressed to this very day, but she has managed to control it and to prevent its destructive nature from rising up ever again.
Zuri held onto the case as Travis marked the back of her palm with a rune. She was then given a quick explanation on what it does before he let go of her hand. Zuri retracted her hand and inspected both the rune that was marked on her hand and the case with the rune.

She looks at Travis and asks "So all I have to do is get close enough to touch him, aim this rune at him, pour mana into it and something good will happen?" with a raised eyebrow, grinning with excitement. "If that's the case.." Zuri turns around and looks straight at the mage that Raiya has been keeping busy for what feels like an eternity, "...It's time we try to put an end to this.."

Zuri begins to transform, dark beams started to twirl around her before lifting her off the ground and after a few seconds, the beams bursted, revealing her in a completely different outfit than what she wore before, with dark pieces of armour made out of pure energy that covered crucial parts such as her chest, shoulders, arms, legs, along with a skirt and helmet. The armour was held magically in place, so she doesn't feel any added weight. However, the magic tore up her clothing in the process, which made it look very revealing.

She slowly hovered back onto the floor after her transformation, inspecting herself and noticing that this wasn't anything like the last time. "I.. I-" Zuri notices that nothing but this magical armour was covering her, but this was no time to feel embarrassed. Zuri visualizes a white cloak that covers her shoulders all the way down to her waist before creating it as it slowly falls onto her.

After securing her cloak, she turns around, facing Travis and says "Y-You didn't see anything, right? Well, it doesn't really matter.. I'm not sure what this is but I'll find out soon enough." She comments on her current situation, referring to how she didn't transform into the dark shadowy entity but instead, remained as herself. She does however, feel more in control with her mana and her abilities, both mentally and physically. Zuri could feel this form slowly draining away her mana, so she doesn't have that much time to stand idly around.
