Current Refreshing the page at 3:12 am. Funny thing is, this is when people actually reply. Stupid time zones.

Reading random RPs to kill time until I go play DnD... Sometimes I wonder if I roleplay too much. (Nope. No such thing.)

Just noticed the box on the side that says "You have no friends"... *sigh* I've only been here for a day and the site already knows me too well.

Bio

Stuff about me? Well, I really love video games. That and anime, DnD, and breaking into song at random intervals. I'm both a geek and a nerd (and yes, I know the difference). I've done a decent amount of roleplaying before, and I'll write in pretty much any genre. My favorite would probably have to be either fantasy or superhero roleplays. Anyway, I love to write stories, and I hope to find many good roleplaying partners here on this site :)

The world was beautiful. All of the hype that had dominated the internet for months didn't even come close to describing it. The colors were so bright, in such high definition, that it seemed even clearer than real life. Aerin breathed deeply, taking in a huge lungful of imaginary air. She loved virtual reality. The sky was a brilliant blue, and the sun cast a shadow back across the ground behind her lumbering form. The programming was so detailed, she could literally feel the grass beneath her now gigantic feet. She looked down at her (well, technically "his") massive hands. It would be fun playing a guy.

"Start Tutorial?" A touchscreen appeared in from of her face, presenting her with two options. She (er... he? She didn't quite know how to think of herself in this form...) was about to select "Yes" when another message popped up to cover the first. Apparently there was some sort of error. Great.. She thought. Rampaging monsters, huh? Oh well, it was dinner time anyway, and brand new games were bound to have a few bugs. She'd log out, eat, and hopefully come back and run through the tutorial when everything was fixed.. Dismissing both notifications, she scrolled through in search of the "Log Off" button.

It was nowhere to be found. She spent a solid minute scrolling through the different screens, trying to figure out if there were any hidden tabs which might provide an escape. She figured out how to equip items, view quests, and track skill progression, but her search was to no avail. Perhaps it was another error? No, she was probably just missing something obvious. Everyone else would be heading toward the center of town, so she decided to follow. Maybe she'd find a beta tester who could show her how to log out.

It was then that she heard growling behind her. She clutched her rusted sword, starting equipment for Paladins. "All right. Guess it's trial by fire for me!"
@The One Well, if you want to stick around I could take over GM posting for a while, let you focus on your player characters.
Just to be sure before I go to bed, is the current time for most characters still around 11:30 to noon? I'd be perfectly fine with a timeskip soon, we probably don't need to follow Eidel's thrilling afternoon adventures, it'd allow me to try to get her into something at night. It all depends on what @Adelynn Ryder thinks.

Also, finally gave Sabine some attention, @Verdaux, hope you weren't getting too bored waiting for someone.

'Night all, happy... Shine Citying...?

Someone come up with a verb indicating participating in Shine City. I'm too tired to think.

I don't mind. Annabelle's likely to spend the night at home writing or something, so I can just have her recall the events of the day in flashback.

As for the verb... I suppose "Shining" wouldn't be very appropriate...

Well guys, to put it bluntly, Slenderman decided to give me all the work, as stated above. Sure I could of asked @Adelynn Ryder for help but, we're only co gms. We're not meant to be doing all the work. I will say it here too, the only reason I joined this Rp was because I wanted to be a player, not the Gm. I didn't mind giving one or two helpful ideas there but it seemed that Slenderman thought that I'd be able to take his job and handle it. As Slenderman states, things may improve tomorrow but I have seen so many Rps because of lazy Gms, because co Gms do all the work. I won't be posting again tonight, however I'll stay subscribed to see if I want to really leave or not. I am truly sorry.

I understand entirely. I'll try to keep up GM posts when Slenderman's not around, and I should have my character post in about an hour or so. I apologize for my absence, as I've been working all this weekend, but I should be more active on weekends and non-school hours from this point forward. We'll be very sorry to see you go, but I understand if you decide to. Thank you so much for your help with the classes and setup of the game and such.
"The what!?!" Brick growled, blinded by the sudden change in lighting. He clenched his massive fists, ready to pond the voice into silence. The situation was getting complicated. Brick didn't like complicated. He couldn't even pretend to understand what was happening, but it was obvious that whoever had just spoken was responsible. That voice had brought him here. It had made him sit in darkness, then blinded him with light. It had brought the other annoying voice with it, the one that kept calling him "moron". It had made him feel pain. That voice... it had made him remember Bryce. That voice would die.

As his eyes began to adjust, he searched the room for his target. There were more people in here than he had expected. The one closest to him ("moron" guy, Brick thought) was a tall, lanky man in a blood-red suit. More distinctive than his clothing were his hair, spiked and silvery-white though he was obviously young, and his eyes, the same color as the suit. His hands bore fingerless black gloves, a stark contrast to the formality of the outfit, and in them he clutched a rather large book. The getup confused Brick. Stranger still was that of the girl beside him. She wore a brightly-colored spandex costume, similar to those infuriating "heroes" who were always bugging him while he was busy smashing things. He disliked her already. The only normal-looking one was a teenage boy who appeared to have been speaking to spandex girl. Though he seemed younger than all of them (except maybe Brick... how old was he again?), the boy seemed less freaked out. His eyes were cast away from the costumed female now, staring at something near the opposite wall.

Following that gaze, brick found what he was looking for. There! The source of the voice had been a woman, dressed entirely in black. Long sleeves and pants covered her limbs, leaving nothing to be shown aside from her face. It was a familiar-looking face. Brick paused for a moment, trying to recall where he had seen her before. He hadn't recognized the voice... then again, the chances of Brick remembering something at all were slim. The girl had symmetrical features, emerald eyes, and a narrow facial structure. She was quite skinny, to the point where he could see the shape of her skull framed by auburn hair. He would crush that skull.

Before he could get up to attack, the girl responded to his initial question. "The Outcasts," she smiled. "Just a little name I thought up for our group."

"Group?" Brick forgot smashing for a moment.

"Yes. I'm sure you all recognize me."

Moron guy nodded, clutching his book closer to his chest. "Shadow."

Shadow? So that's where he'd seen her before! Brick was almost releived he hadn't ttacked now. Arch-nemesis of the dreaded Paragons, this woman was the most notorious (and most hunted) supervillain in the country. She'd gone up against the entire team on multiple occasions and survived. The fact that she now stood before them was a testament to her skill. Had Brick charged her as planned, there would be no more Brick. This chick was terrifying.

"I see you do." She seemed amused by moron guy's fear. "So you know that if you try anything, it won't end well for you."

Brick could swear she was staring strait at him.

"Here's the thing. there's been a spike in the number of good-guy types popping up lately, and as much as I loathe to admit it, they're becoming a threat. So my proposition is that we watch each other's backs... for now."
Apologies for the delay in posting, I've been working all weekend. I should have it up tomorrow night at the latest.

Ah, touché! :3 Mind if I help?

Be my guest. Assassinations (ah... I mean "plots") are much easier when the person tells me how they want to die.
<Snipped quote by Adelynn Ryder>

Last night I stayed up till 2am writing like the rest of you. The trouble is, everyone gets on just after 2 ;-; FFFFFUUUU-

And we don't team kill! Unless they're ginger...

I said "plot" not "execute"... there's no harm in brainstorming :P

Every god damn time I go to sleep, something fun happens ;-; I never get the fun conversations of stealing souls and murder...

That's what you get for sleeping instead of being up writing 'till 2am like the rest of us "normal" people. Still, I'm perfectly willing to plot your death if you want...
"An..uh... Annabelle Wolfe!" she stumbled through her own name.

Anna smiled back at Eidel, noting her also stammered introduction. Perhaps she was shy as well. She seemed very nice though. She'd been very friendly and understanding, leading Annabelle away from the crowd of people, and the she'd even offered her a water bottle so cold it sapped all heat from Anna's hand as she carried it. However, they hadn't managed to escape without Anna being spotted one more time. The Third Strike guy had seen her watching his game. Apparently, her powers of invisibility were severely lacking today. At least he hadn't seemed angry. In fact, he had also been quite friendly, smiling and giving her another thumbs up. She had smiled back, though she wasn't sure if he had seen past her black hood. As she'd followed Eidel to the rhythm games, she'd gotten a closer look at him when they passed. He was attractive, though from his eyes one could tell he'd been staring at a screen for a while. Then again, so had she. As they passed by the Third Strike cabinet, she made note of the score he'd obtained. It had indeed beaten hers- top of the board. "SAW" the initials read. She'd come back to this at some point. By the end of the week, she was determined now to move "SAW" into the second place, replacing the first rank with her own initials.

But for now, she was playing with Eidel. She knew at this point they had two things in common- video games and awkwardness- and as they approached the rhythm games, she suspected they would soon find a third commonality. Anna loved music. It was part of what had drawn her to the theater. Though she'd always been unfit for the spotlight, she envied the soloists in her favorite musical productions. She'd spent many an hour-long shower singing into the device she was supposed to be rinsing herself off with, and several more hours sitting in front of her television, playing with plastic instruments much like the one she now picked up. As a music loving gamer, it was only natural for her to have gotten into rhythm games. Music, she knew, was just as important to the progression of a story as choreographed fight scenes. She pulled the guitar strap across her shoulder, looking at the song title that Eidel had chosen. It was a slower song, one Anna did not know very well, but she remembered liking the sound of it. She smiled again at her game partner.

"Thanks. Next game's on me."

Strumming the plastic guitar, she scrolled through the difficulties. She selected "Expert" and the game began. Slower songs on a higher difficulty meant lots of drawn out chords. She wished these instruments had real strings rather than plastic buttons. It would certainly give her an advantage. Plus, then it would be much easier to memorize how to play them off of the game version. As it was, she'd pick up her guitar at home and only be able to recall colors. "Red, Yellow, Orange" didn't exactly tell her what key the song was in. But pointless complaints aside, the game was going quite well. Eidel seemed to be doing fine on whatever difficulty she had picked (Anna had been too stressed out by introducing herself to pay attention) and she was definitely a good person to game with. Quiet, but focused, and she obviously knew what she was doing.

She's pretty too, Anna thought, though she wasn't sure what that had to do with anything. A moment later, she figured it out though. This was someone she could look up to. She was like Annabelle, but prettier, stronger... willing to walk up to people she hadn't met in an arcade despite obvious shyness. She was an amazing potential friend. Anna had always told herself that she didn't need friends, but playing with other people felt right. She looked over at her opponent as she continued to strum the plastic instrument. She smiled, and even laughed quietly. This was so much fun.
