Just a heads up, I added a Languages section to the CS. With soldiers of different nations fighting side by side, the language barrier can be a big problem. Chernarus is largely based off the Czech republic, with its primary language being Czech. The population of Chernarus is a mix of Chernarussians and ethnic Russians.
I am interested just came from the interst check xD I would like to make a NAPA character and was wondering if I could be armed with a more modern variation of the WW2 Mosin Nagant?
I wanted you to PM me your character sheet before posting it in the character section (or at least first post it in the OOC for approval). Second, I wanted you to ask before making anything other than a CDF character. In addition to those problems, your character is a warrant officer in a faction of relatively unorganized guerillas. A NAPA fighter would probably not have an official rank and definitely not a designated unit. I apologize if the OOC was not very clear, but I'm going to have to deny your character. For now, just stick with CDF unless you have a REALLY good reason to play something else.
The country of Chernarus is a post-Soviet state bordering Russia. A state of severe political unrest began in early 2009 as communist rebels known as the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star struggle to overthrow the country’s democratic government. After several months of fighting between rebel factions and Chernarussian military forces, the country’s government turned to the international community for assistance.
A United States Amphibious Ready Group was deployed to the region with the hope their presence would end further armed conflict. The rebels were undeterred, and in mid-September, Chedaki forces seized the island of Utes, home to a Chernarussian Defense Forces base, and slaughtered the defending soldiers. In response, marines from the amphibious assault ship USS Khe Sanh launched an invasion of Utes, quickly retaking the island from rebel hands.
A few days after the retaking of Utes, the marines deploy to the Chernarussian mainland. Their objective to retake South Zagoria, end the civil war, and eliminate the ChDKZ leader called “Akula.”
The RP follows CDF and USMC personel shortly after marines seized a large majority of the southern coast of South Zagoria. A forward operating base has been established at the town of Balota’s airbase and US and CDF forces prepare for the long counter-insurgency campaign that lies ahead.
Chernarussian Defense Forces (CDF): The military of Chernarus. Months of bloody fighting and losing ground has left the CDF severely weakened and under equipped. With the arrival of US forces, the CDF is preparing to retake South Zagoria from the insurgents.
United States Marine Corps (USMC): US Marines of the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit deployed from the USS Khe Sanh as a “peacekeeping force.” After retaking the military island of Utes from ChDKZ control, they have launched an offensive on the South Zagorian mainland, pushing insurgents away from the coast and establishing a foothold in the south-west.
Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star (ChDKZ): Communist extremists that have taken control of South Zagoria in a violent coup. They are armed with a large amount of weaponry and equipment seized from government forces and acquired through arms dealers.
National Party (NAPA): A faction of nationalist Chernarussian guerillas fighting the Chedaki. They are poorly equipped, largely using civilian weapons and vehicles, as well as some equipment stolen from the military.
This is by no means a complete list. This is just to give you an idea of common weapons your characters will encounter.
CDF and ChDKZ Weapons AK-74: Soviet made assault rifles chambered in 5.45x39mm. The standard issue rifle of the CDF.
AKM: Most Chernarussian militia are equipped with the older AKM rifle rather than AK-74. It fires the heavier 7.62x39mm cartridge.
AKS-74U: A carbine variant of the AK-74 rifle with folding stock. It is generally used by vehicle crews and those who require a lighter, more compact weapon.
Dragunov SVD: Designated marksman rifle based off the Kalashnikov platform. It fires the powerful 7.62x54mmR cartridge, and is usually equipped with a PSO-1 4x scope. CDF platoon snipers are equipped with these rifles when available. When not available, they use an AK-74 equipped with a PSO scope instead.
RPK-74: The light machinegun version of the AK-74 rifle. It generally uses larger 45-round magazines to allow for more continuous suppressing fire. Each CDF squad’s automatic rifleman is equipped with an RPK.
PKM: A general purpose machine gun chambered in 7.62x54mmR. Each CDF platoon has a machine gun team equipped with a PKM.
Makarov PM: A handgun chambered in 9x18mm Makarov. Vehicle crewmen and officers are generally equipped with these sidearms in place of or in addition to their standard issue rifle.
RPG-7: A shoulder-launched anti-tank launcher. It fires a variety of ammunition, from tandem HEAT to thermobaric rounds. Each CDF squad’s grenadier is equipped with a launcher and up to 5 rounds of ammunition is spread between the him and the assistant grenadier.
RPG-18: A disposable shoulder-fired anti-tank launcher capable of engaging targets up to 200 meters away. When available, it is carried by one CDF rifleman in each rifle squad.
RGO Grenade: A defensive fragmentation grenade used by CDF forces. It detonates on impact one second after being armed, or detonates on a timed fuse after 4 seconds if no impact occurs.
RGN Grenade: An offensive fragmentation grenade used by CDF forces. Operates similarly to an RGO, but with a much smaller kill radius.
GP-25 Grenade Launcher: An under barrel 40mm grenade launcher that can be attached to AK-series rifles. CDF Squad leaders and senior riflemen may have a GP-25 equipped to their rifles.
DShKM: A modernized version of a soviet 12.7mm heavy machine gun.
USMC Weapons M16A4: The standard issue rifle of the US Marine Corps. It is chambered in 5.56x45mm and can be fired in semi-automatic and 3-round burst.
M4 Carbine: A carbine version of the M16A4 with shortened barrel and folding stock.
M249 SAW: A light machine gun chambered in 5.56x45mm. Three are issued to each marine squad, one for each fireteam’s automatic rifleman where it is used at the team’s base of fire.
M240B: A general purpose machine gun chambered in 7.62x51mm. It is generally mounted on vehicles and used by machine gun teams.
USMC DMR: A semi-automatic designated marksman rifle based off the M14. It fires 7.62x51mm ammunition.
M40A3: A bolt action sniper rifle based off the civilian Remington 700 rifle. It is chambered in 7.62x51mm.
M2HB: An American .50 BMG heavy machingun. Often mounted on humvees, tanks, and other vehicles.
Mk19 Grenade Launcher: A belt fed 40mm grenade launcher. Like the M2, it is often used as a vehicle mounted weapon.
Please PM me your character sheet/character idea before posting it. Remember, you aren’t playing movie badasses or superhuman special forces. You are playing as normal military men and women. This RP will primarily focus on a platoon of CDF motorized infantry. If you want to play as something other than a CDF infantryman, let me know.
Name: Rank: Largely based on your role (or your rank determines your role). Role: Unit: I request that your characters be CDF soldiers or militia in the 1st Platoon, 1st Company, 6th Motorized Regiment. Based on your role, your character will be placed in a squad/vehicle crew. Callsign: This is unnecessary for most soldiers. the callsign for 1st Platoon, 1st CO, 6th Motorized Regiment is “Bayonet 1”. Therefore, first squad leader’s would be Bayonet-1-1-Actual, squad two leader’s would be Bayonet-1-2-Actual, and so on. Age: Appearance: Background: Languages: Equipment: Largely determined by your role.
Motorized infantry platoons are made up of 3 motorized infantry squads and platoon headquarters. The headquarters consists of the platoon leader and assistant leader, a 2-man machine gun team, platoon sniper, and medic. Each squad is lead by a squad leader and senior rifleman. The squad leader acts as commander of the squad's BTR vehicle until dismounted, at which point the vehicle gunner assumes the role. The squad is further divided into a fire team and maneuver team. The fire team acts as the squad's base of fire, consisting of the automatic rifleman, grenadier, assistant grenadier, and the squad leader. The maneuver team is lead by the senior rifleman and contains one or two riflemen.
1. Don't godmod, meta game, etc. 2. Be respectful of others. 3. If you plan on leaving the RP or taking a break, let me know. Don't just vanish. 4. My word is final. If you feel I made an outright mistake, let me know, sometimes I mess up. 5. You can make multiple characters, for now the limit is two unless you convince me to let you have more. 6. Characters are probably going to die or be severely injured. War tends to do that to people. 7. If you have any suggestions to improve the RP, feel free to let me know. 8. Try to stick to CDF personnel/militia when making characters. I may allow NAPA guerrillas and USMC characters, but not many. Please ask me before posting a character of another faction for approval.
I'm most likely going to be adding to this in the future. If there is something you need to know for whatever reason, just ask.
