This account is pretty inactive now. But I pop on from time to time to see if anything of interest pops up. I tend to drop out of things with writers block if I find myself lacking in interest, but do try to keep things long=term. Been offline for most of the last 12 months but hoping I might soon find something to get me back in that RP saddle.

So much drama had unfolded in such a short span of time that it left Jake dumbfounded. The first impression that he'd generated for the Balamb SeeD's had been quickly demolished. His eyes darted from person to person as the events occurred before him. First there was the one called 'Syrus' answering the comm link in what could only be described, by Jake, as a rather unprofessional manner. Followed by Duncan's swift scolding, which to Jake was at least a little justified? Fun poking was then carried out by two other Balamb members. Jake shook his head "What is this, babysitting duty?" He had barely projected his voice enough to be heard. It was a comment based on what he had observed in the short time span he had been in the Timber Warehouse. Jake didn't take long to reflect on what he said before he recalled the post script of his instructors. "No offence of course." Jake directed towards Duncan. "I'm just not used to missions with so much... commotion?.. Commotion." That had been true for the most part, even where he had worked as part of a team. 'Stealth missions, Recon missions, are they not essentially the same?' Jake questioned in his mind before following up. "Might I make a request? Following briefing from our contact I'd appreciate the opportunity to scout the patrol routes." Jake could easily identify patrol rotations amongst the guards and soldiers stationed in Timber with only short term observation. He had hoped that Duncan had been made aware of his pro's and con's in the dossier that would have been supplied by Galbadia. However having witnessed what had unfolded so far he would not be surprised if Duncan had decided against reading it.
Sorry about that, just started to read it back now and was like 'ohh...' Ok... I think it should be a little better now.
Jake was leant up against an uncluttered wall in the makeshift Comms room both curious and annoyed. His latest assignment brief didn't go into any specifics about why this particular operation would be a joint one, nor why he'd been assigned to something that required he be a 'team player'. He mumbled his distaste for the situation under his breath as he shoved his hands into his coat pockets. As usual he did his utmost to avoid drawing attention to himself, but in a group this size, acting that way was more than likely still going to draw attention towards him. These Balamb SeeD's, they seemed able enough for the assignment at hand, so why was he needed here? Word around the campus was he was due for another solo reconnaissance assignment, then everything was dropped to make way for a joint Garden operation. Truth be told Jake thought he'd dodged the bullet right before he was summoned to the head master office for briefing. He glanced over to the 'leader' of this operation Duncan. "So... he's the one in charge." Jake commented to himself still mumbling. "Hope he knows what to expect, if things get out of hand with the army again I could be on the receiving end of another de-ranking." Upon his last comment Jake pulled a slip of paper from his coat pocket. Carefully unfolding it he cast his eyes over his mission overview, he wasn't reading it so much as he was looking at it until he reaches the hand written, extra message left for him 'p.s. your ability to use a GF with respect to this mission are restricted. If you cause problems with the authorities again you will lose a rank.' A short and sweet message to say 'your secret is to remain that way' and that pickpocketing Galbadian Soldiers was not only stupid, but would result in a pay decrease and less interesting future assignments. 'What rank am I these days anyway?' Jake thought to himself. He hadn't exactly kept track of these things, he'd moved up almost as much as he had been moved down, in fact it wouldn't surprise him if he was the same rank now as when he started. The only thing he was sure of was that he wasn't quiet yet scrapping the bottom of the barrel, otherwise they wouldn't be able to leave him that heart warming, yet threatening reminder to behave himself. As a sigh escaped him as he removed his other hand from his pocket as he reached down to the daggers that were sheathed and hidden by his coat. Apparently carrying any of his other weapons on a mission in a town like Timber was considered too high profile, even for Galbadia Garden's standards. Then there was the town of his assignment, Timber, of all the places they could of sent him. His knowledge of the town and its layout were at least something for him to be proud of. After all, most of his assignments had him going to Timber an 'Intel Hotspot' You might have called it. With this being the main link between the island of Balamb and the mainland of Galbadia you'd see all kinds of passers by. Most of the information learned here was actually pretty useless, however someone had caught wind of this. Unfortunately that someone had been replaced by Jake for support. "I must thank him when I get back to Garden..."
Name: Jake Firesong Age: 19 (SeeD from the age of 18) Gender:Male Appearance: ![](http://i752.photobucket.com/albums/xx170/Pizzapiea_Riley/Anime/Brown%20and%20White%20Anime/BrackenAnime.jpg) Jake does not typically have a very tidy appearance, shirts not fully buttoned, ties worn loosely. He has messy medium brown hair (as per the picture) and cat-like green eyes. His usual attire is similar to that pictured a scruffy suit under which is thin patches of leather to act as armour. Nationality: Galbadian (Adopted) Trained At: Galbadia Weapon/Combat Style: Jake considers his fighting style a somewhat Jack-of-all-trades, even though to call him that would be a compliment. He has experience in using long swords, daggers and crossbows. Jake didn't adapt well with the evolution of weaponry and never got to grips with likes of gun-blades and rifles. Which weapon he takes on a mission would usually determine his style though he favours speed and accuracy over power and defensiveness. His lack of having a training partner is clearly reflected when fighting humanoid opponents as he lacks the ability to read his enemy, something he has grown adapted to whilst fighting monsters alone. Biography: When Jake was sent to be enrolled and Boarded at Galbadia Garden it was a wake up call, he was sent there after being a persisting problem for the family that adopted him in order to 'teach' him 'to respect authority'. Beginning his studies at the age of 10 he showed average academic performance at best and was in no way seen as being a 'Star Pupil'. It was only when he started his training that he started to show a glimmer of hope and a spark of natural talent, his ability to strike targets with near-perfect (for his age) accuracy was a sight that was unexpected by the staff of Galbadia. His academics were adjusted accordingly and Jake spent more time training and studying combat and weapons allowing him to finally excel at something. His attitude towards had taken some work but they'd eventually got it out of him there was only one problem that persisted for years, Jake was unable to form a bond, or pact with a Guardian Force. This was troubling for staff as it was seen almost a necessity for anyone seeking to go for SeeD candidacy. So they continued to try, and they continued to fail to find a Guardian Force that would bond with Jake. Thus came about a unique event that lead to Jake's first success summoning. Jake once had a training partner and due to his natural talent his partner was an older candidate, they were renowned for being well matched allowing them to go at it with their full potentials knowing when to draw the line. Just like the training arena in Balamb however, this too housed wild monsters and whilst training deep within the grounds to avoid alarming younger classmates the pair were ambushed. The older student was unable to hold everything back with his powers alone so without the aid of magic, or a GF to protect him Jake stood his ground. Two weeks later, Jake regained stable conciousness, by the next day he was summoned to the headmaster office where he was 'de-briefed'. The official report would claim that Jake was badly injured in the fight and his training partner had taken him to the safety of the infirmary for treatment, this injury was sustained whilst training due to 'poor judgement'. Officially, Jake's training partner would be blamed but so long as he 'stayed silent' he'd remain on the SeeD candidacy to which he had agreed. They informed Jake that the injuries he sustained from the monsters had put him on the brink of conciousness when 'a cloaked figure appeared and cut down the creatures one by one before disappearing' Jake had been found in a comatose state following from it. Apparently this was a Guardian Force but, it hadn't bonded to Jake... more it had latched itself onto him. Jake was told that 'officially' he would still be classed as unable to use a Guardian Force due to this particular ones nature. When Jake turned 17 he was recommended for SeeD candidacy which caused uproar amongst some students due to his inability to bond with a GF. The staff acknowledged their comments and advised that Jake was being put forward due to combat prowess and knowledge. Most students disagreed, and this didn't help Jake in making any friends in his run up to be a SeeD, he had no training partner and no one wanted to work with him. During the test Jake was forced to call on his GF to aid his squads withdrawal, when students made claims of what they saw it was met with strong denial from Galbadia Garden staff where they were reminded that Jake was unable to use one... (I'd write more but I have to stop somewhere, otherwise I'll just keep going >.<) Personality: Jake began to come out of his shell when he attended Galbadia Garden, but quickly returned to his anti-social ways and he refuses to talk about his ability / inability to use a GF. Jake treats his friends in a strange manner in that if he feels a relationship is getting close he will push the other person away. He prefers to work alone and usually requests solo assignments, or assignments with minimal support members. Although he respects other SeeD's and the Garden Staff he has a general lack of appreciation for any other type of authority GF: Kensei Appearance: ![](http://0.static.wix.com/media/3bb9b1_9117e255fb31ba0463433205638239a5.jpg_1024) Kensei is very much humanoid in appearance a heavy long robe hangs over a figure, the opening in the hood where there'd usually be a face is nought but a hollow void. The cloak is very similar to the picture shown, but white in colour. Kensei wields a two handed blade but swings the weapon at a surprising flourished speed. Elemental Affinity: Kensei is non-elemental and darkness affinity. Additional information: Unlike traditional GF's Kensei does not diminish a persons memory over time. Instead Kensei takes payment in the form of the casters life force making them weaker dependent on how much power they wish for him to use. This dangerous effect is why Galbadia Garden works to keep its existence hidden. Not only is it a valuable asset but in the wrong hands could be used as a devastating weapon. Limit Break: Jake has two limit breaks both of which are GF related. The unique qualities of his particular Guardian Force dictates whether he has access to both or only one. In health critical situations Jake is able to weaken his Guardian Force in order to strengthen himself this limit break is known as 'reimbursement' as it's the opposite effect to what the GF has which requires 'payment'. The second limit break is known as 'Payment waived'. Jake does not know much about the effects himself or what triggers it but Kensei, in these situations will act with great power without the requirement of any sort of payment. Jake theorises that this is likely linked to a desperate situation, but doesn't necessarily mean it will happen during a life or death scenario. Junctions: J-Atk, J-HP, AGI +20. Kensei's effects are determined by how much 'payment' he receives when called upon his nature is similar to that of a body guard in which, although harming them, his main focus is protecting the caster. Abilities: Aside from the normal abilities Jake can use Mug/Steal & Darkness (Self damaging move to deal heavy damage to an opponent).

I changed the CS layout slightly to an order I thought more logical for my character. ^_^
In case it helps at all the way Akira's been 'helped' with going is intended as a trap ^_^
As Allura stomps out the fire he moves the freshly burned wood further from the entrance with his foot, a smart individual could easily deduct a recent burning fire from such evidence. As they walk down the hall the glowing orb successfully navigates its way through the gaps and clearings of the spiders webs as though it was a physical entity and not just one of conjuration. It was a simple yet rather effective method of leading the way, as the pair swiped their own path through the spider webs to follow it. Akira shares a small smile when Allura asks about the magic itself. "Well it'd be pretty difficult for most of them, Volkran alone would not be capable of such a spell as he's a creature of dark energy. It's one of the only natural spells that I'm capable of casting. However it's nothing special, most hunters and adventurers would learn spells such as this one to deal with situations like this."

As the pair navigate their way through the hallways so far it has consisted of a single route. Every now and again the sound of shuffling footsteps, or an item being knocked echo's down the halls to them. The sounds were putting Akira on edge, with each one heard he'd scan around them, his hand not leaving the hilt of his sword. "As you can see, this isn't exactly a pleasant place to be." The inevitable smell was starting to seep down the hall towards them, and as they walked further in the smell of degrading grew stronger, the scented plants that'd be used to hide this smell were mostly wilted, and those that were still present, it was clear a losing battle was being fought. It wasn't long until the path forked off in two different routes, it was unclear where either of them lead with each one looking identical. The orb of light begins shinning down the path to the right, as though it knew what it was trying to find and where to go to find it. As the pair begin to walk towards the path the orb had lit a voice echo's out to them "Not that way, Mortals. Only despair awaits you on that path"
Akira quickly turns about as though expecting to see someone down the other path. "What are you?"
"We're your friends, Akira... We seek to fulfil only what is right. So come...this....way"

In normal cases such a voice would be considered one of evil intent, although Akira seemed incapable of thinking it for himself as he changes course. His hands relax as he releases his grip on the hilt and takes hold of Allura's hand, taking a few step before glancing to the orb. "This way." As though hesitant the orb remains where it was ignoring Akira "I said this way!" Akira calls out again a tone of anger in his voice, the orb as though panicked quickly changes course and rushes ahead of the pair. He looks to Allura with a smile "Ok, lets go." Is all he says whilst leading her down the hall. It wasn't long before many break offs from the main hall begin to appear, the orb quickly shining down each one before returning. It was almost obvious that each one was a small section, likely reserved for family burials. As they stepped in line with each one the smell was almost unbearable. "Sorry about this..." Akira says to Allura. "Didn't think we'd end up passing through this way."
Meanwhile back at the town...

"Look you're not exactly being helpful here, we've killed 2 of you already." Lance states as he takes a cloth to wipe fresh blood from his blade. "That's 2 more then we originally planned, for now anyway. This is a peacekeeper town, as such you should not be acting with such hostility towards hunters." The people in the tavern start to get rowdy as their voices grow. "QUIET!" Lance demands "Allow me to try this again, we're not here to carry out an execution so DO NOT tempt me." Irvine raises his hand to Lances chest and pushes him back softly.
"Calm down...." Is all Irvine says before returning to stand next to Lance.
"Well then, here's the full reason we're here." Lance unfolds a scripture as he reads from it. "The town, Haven, is to be 'purged' under the agreement and treaties signed by each guild on the grounds of breaching their duty as peacekeepers. The grounds for this breach include, but may not be limited to...." Lance looks up at the patrons "Housing the wanted mark Akira Shadow, with the full awareness of his crimes. It has been deemed on this occasion should the town cooperate as to his whereabouts, the title of peacekeepers will be reinstated and the purge shall not be carried out." Lance finishes reading from the scripture as he folds it up and forces it back into his pocket.

"The purge has been authorised by all guilds but one, ours. If you cooperate and tell us where Akira Shadow is, or has been then we will not authorise it, no one else has to die tonight." Lance looks at the confusion on some of the patrons faces. "As I can see not all of you here are demons, but for those of you that are you'll know Akira well for the traitor mark he bears on his right cheek. Unfortunately humans, werewolves... other were creatures... fairy folk, any race I haven't mentioned your lives all hang on the balance of telling us where he is or where he has gone. You have 1 hour to decide before I lose my patience." Irvine and Lance step back until they're to the wall of the tavern, observing as the patrons become rowdy once more, shouting and accusing one another as they try to figure out what to do.
ohhh I do like that it'd blend in well with one of the ideas I have for something that'll happen here :D
Yeah sorry bout that, I'll try to have more actually happen :P if I'm honest I wasn't entirely happy with my last post but I was at a bit of an awkward situation where I'd either have too much happen all at once or not quiet enough.
No worries, I was like 'I hope she hasn't forgotten me ; ;'
