This account is pretty inactive now. But I pop on from time to time to see if anything of interest pops up. I tend to drop out of things with writers block if I find myself lacking in interest, but do try to keep things long=term. Been offline for most of the last 12 months but hoping I might soon find something to get me back in that RP saddle.

Volkran watched out of fascination and intrigue as Allura started to use her angelic magics. For a change he was witnessing it first hand rather than through the eyes of the mortal. "Interesting... well if it works, it works I guess." Is all the demon had to say, although he felt comfortable in the environment the current circumstances were not exactly in his favour. The spell itself appeared to be water based and involved manipulating its very being. How Allura could control in such a manner was beyond the demons comprehension as it seemed to act against all form of natural flow or fall as it was raising without trying to spill itself back.

As the wall hissed through the steam Volkran attempted to glance through the opening. The hallway on the other side didn't seem to have any form of distinct light source and was still filled with the same darkness. Although his eyes had adjusted so that he could see more than just in front of his face, the darkness that surrounded them limited it with heavy severity. The demon raised his hand and felt a soft shiver of excitement and joy as he stroked the wall where the opening had been created only for him to withdraw it when his hand hissed from coming into contact with remnants of the spell. The withdrawal was accompanied by a small grunt from the burning sensation giving Allura a small 'you'll pay for that' look before watching her pass through the opening. Once Allura was through Volkran also passed through the opening the wall feeding him more power as it came into contact with his body.

Once through to the other side he stares at Allura with a small smile on his face as he raises his hand toward the opening, the evil energy within drawing towards it out of his will as the opening sealed shut once more separating them from the family burials. "So it would appear that Akira will not be rejoining us for some time." The demon commented a look of evil intent on his face as he spoke, stepping forward infringing on Allura's personal space as he spoke quieter. "Now that we're out of danger... why don't we, have some fun?" The demons hand rested on the grip of a dagger as he pulled it from its sheath and then....

"Sleep Demon!" An unfamiliar voice ordered from nearby. With almost perfect synchronised timing the clank of the metal from the dagger hitting the floor could be heard, followed by Volkran dropping to the floor like a ragdoll in front of Allura completely void of any sign of conciousness. The sound of a torch being ignited comes from beside the pair revealing a cloaked figure standing before them. The opening in the hood appeared to be faced towards Allura no facial features could be made out within its void. "So are you a friend, a prisoner, or his new play thing?" The figure questioned. "Whichever it is once he fulfils his lust he'll no longer have a use for you. You understand that right?" The figure stepped towards Allura but quickly halts himself. "No need to be defensive, I'm not here to cause you trouble. Quite the opposite in fact." The cloaked man looked down at himself. "I see... my appearance is not helping the matter. I ask you give me but a moment." As he finishes saying this the man reaches up with a gloved hand and pulls back his hood. The cloak appears to bask in a light completely blocking the man from view, once it fades it reveals a young man who appears in his early 20's clad in well maintained chain and leather armour. The cloak had changed from black to... red and was now more of a back cloak with hood then a full body one. The man had short brown hair and blue eyes and donned a smile as he looked at Allura "Hopefully slightly less intimidating now?"

The man in his new appearance looked down on Volkran/Akira's un-concious body. "wait..." He looks back to Allura, looking her up and down while he does so. "Ahh... so you're the reason for his delay in making it here." The man cleared his throat. "I can see how he could be so easily delayed. However bringing a young lady like yourself to a place such as this cannot exactly be doing his wooing attempts any favours." Pretty assuming for someone who hadn't even introduced himself. "Hey Akira." The man knelt down and tapped Akira's shoulder. "Get up, it's time to move." The man just stared at his un-concious body then looked up at the wall. "Ah... well that isn't good." With that said the man hauled Akira up to his feet on his shoulder. "We need to move somewhere a bit more appropriate for what needs to be done." The man spoke holding the torch in his free arm. "If you'd like to follow me. We'll use the necromancer's old set-up, he's been here a while and be moving between different sections of the crypt." The man began to lead on still not introducing himself feeling Allura would only naturally follow, especially given that he was slowly hauling Akira away from her otherwise.
As the day progressed Jake spent his time overlooking the other members of the team coming to grips with their change of circumstance. Although that was merely a side note of his self-given duty. Jake remained in the base tuning and retuning his radio's frequency checking the common and emergency channels trying to locate the armies communications. The purpose was simple, monitoring the changeover of guards and shift patterns the events of the day before would dictate that these would differ from usual. Most of the day was soldiers taking status checks and arrest checks as they searched for witnesses or suspects, making short hand notes of changeovers and anything he felt could come in handy for future reference, after all they eventually needed to get out of the city and running into the army whilst doing so would not be beneficial for Jake or the others.

As the time passed no suspects were found, nor arrests made in connection with the attack. Some supposed witnesses had been reported but whether they were faking or not would take longer to establish then it would for the team to get out of Timber. There was the occasional quiet patch that would envelope as soldiers passed through the warehouse district, expanding their patrols to the less desirable areas such as the one they were hiding in. Though their searches were only to try and catch people running about the outside as they seemed to fail at entering any of the warehouses, clever enough to not risk walking in on a team that had the previous day wiped out an entire outpost with seeming ease.

As the evening drew near Jake changed the frequency of his radio once more. "7961, Jake Firesong... Overwatch report in how's traffic?"
"rein-... -rrived.. rea-.... -lay." Jake shook the hand radio as he sighed
'piece of crap electronics' "Bad feed, code number?" Jake kept his message short although they'd received his first message clear enough there was no telling when it could drop bad again. "Ove-... -firms... -andby... -de... 151.. -peat... -num... 151."
"Code 151? Confirm if different." Jake waited a few moments but no further communication was made in response. Good news at least. something to pass on when the time was right.

Jake spent what little time there then was before the next brief waiting on frequency for his orders to withdraw. Overwatch would receive the word before he would, Galbadia Gardens comm tech carried such a heavy delay that it made relaying via radio quicker. However the order didn't come, no matter surely it'd be made mention of during the brief of the main teams next objectives... though when that time came that information was not spoke of. The mercenary felt a small build up of stress as he came to realise he'd been had by the higher ups, this was no small incursion they had sent him on. Jake reluctantly listened to the talk that was given before it was interrupted by 'Support team Bravo', "Just how many people is Balamb going to throw at this mission?" Jake muttered to himself careful to ensure he wasn't overheard. Although another addition would make up for part of the losses, to some, like the higher ups, it really just a matter of numbers.
Jake had spent the best part of the night awake reading. When he wasn't doing that, he was mentally preparing the report he'd give when he returned to Galbadia Garden. Trying to keep himself to himself and not stir un-needed attention, as the night progressed he moved around the base avoiding the possibility of being cornered by other members of the team and to avoid them getting too close a glance of what he was up to. Most of what he'd read was either completely useless or just barely useful some mentions were made of certain 'plans' and it appeared that the 7691 reports contained not only reports he had made to the army, but records of his movements throughout Timber.

Then there was the commotion within the base. Jake had managed to keep himself far enough away from the main body of the team that most of the occurrence to him was just noise. "What the hell are they doing now?" The SeeD had found himself asking at the time, though his curiosity of the situation would just lead to him having to hide better after spotting some of the partial aftermath. Although it was good to see that people were not so heavily focused on what had happened earlier that day the solution that one of them had concocted was far from what Jake would consider a sane choice. However sane choices was not something people were renowned for whilst under the influence of booze, he thanked his graces that he was anti-social enough to avoid becoming one of its victims. Having said that he had only narrowly escaped the gender changing lunatic, managing to give them the slip with the upper-hand of being sober. There were... sacrifices made on his escape route, a few unlucky support SeeD's who were bound to be a part of opposite crew by now. Once it had died down and SeeD's began to pass into the world of nod Jake used the opportunity to stash the files back away with his belongings before opting to keep watch over the base.

Come morning the mercenary stifled a yawn as he decided to examine the true extent of what had unfolded during the late hours of night and early morning. He could recognise a few faces, most of which purely due to the fact that they had miraculously also avoided this 'experiment'. A small smirk grew on his face as he looked over the main team from the day before, most of whom were now members of the opposite gender. "Well now, this is a sight to behold." Jake managed to prevent himself from chuckling before he continued. "I suppose on the bright side, none of you will match your own descriptions of who the army will be searching for." Jake had been watching the room carefully, he had no idea where this tool was and didn't quiet fancy having it turned on him if any of them remembered where it had been stashed. Then there was an outburst by one of the team members at Xerox(?) these new appearances were going to take some getting used to it would seem. In fairness the SeeD in question had every right to be in current state of anger that had been displayed. "Well I can't say I witnessed everything that you got up to last night, but I can guess if he did cause it that his current appearance clearly displays that he didn't finish it."
Volkran stared at the barrier of energy in front of them not initially responding. He took a short step towards it and rose his hand against it once more. "Oh trust me, just like the minds of any mortal this can be broken..." Reluctantly however the demon lowered its arm back to his side. "Well there's only two things we can do, that foolish human friend of yours lead us down a one-way corridor the only ways are through... or we head ba-..." The demon paused as he stared back down the corridor, his eyes narrowing as he did so. Staring into the endless void the demon moved standing between Allura and the way back. "This one is mine!" The demon announced drawing the sword sheathed at his waist, what he was exactly referring to at first remained unclear until "Return to your place of rest or cease to be." The demon held his stance for a short time before sheathing the weapon and turning back to the wall. "Heading back is not an option, they have awoken. However they have agreed they'll leave us be but we cannot pass back that way." The demon looked to the angel. "The spirits of the dead are not amused by your presence, nor mine, though they're more inclined to tolerate my being here than a servant of the..." The demon shivered before uttering the word 'Gods'.

So it had been decided for them, they were to find a way forward from their current position or in all probability die trying to return back the way they came. The demon leaned up against the wall next to the wall of evil as though contemplating a course of action. He could feel something else here, not the necromancer or the dead, something much more sinister in intent. "So, that's what he meant by one of 'them'" The demon spoke up after a moment of silence had passed "We need to be done here before it locates us. wait... shouldn't you be able to expel spirits, like a priest would?" The demon probed, pissing the angel off by trying to go through the wall again was clearly not going to help. "Although the idea of drawing the enemy to us might work, we'd draw everything to us that resides in here. Both those that would do the necromancers doing, and those that'd just do it for personal fun." It was an extremely late response to the angels earlier question, almost as though he'd completely ignored it and only just thought of the idea himself. 'Akira, follow our voice, my friend.'
"Ahhh so that's what made him come this way... banshee's..." The demon mumbled as he remained immune to its calling. The voice was merely trying to lure him back, back into an ambush that would tear them limb from limb with their rage if they didn't have a plan.
Jake had been one of the last to return having created some interference for the support member to make it back alone. "Useless idiot... I should taken the bumbling fool with me." Jake muttered to himself after assisting with the transporting of the major, a tricky task considering he had two files pinned to his chest with 1 arm beneath his jacket. The small distance comprised mainly of apologies for his 'current state of fatigue', nowhere near the case. But he had his orders and this intel was property of Galbadia Garden and it was his job to find out if any of it was useful. Following the very brief follow up on what to expect next Jake reached across and swiftly struck a nearby cursing SeeD across the back of the head "Hey, you all had your roles to play. If you were left here it was for your own good understand?" The support SeeD nodded his head before proceeding to rub it. "Good, you tell your friends if I catch any of them complaining I'll put them through their paces." Silent acknowledging what Jake had said the support SeeD had scurried off to rejoin his friends.

Being able to drop the formal act Jake let out a heavy sigh as he proceeded to a quiet section of the compound. Not that anywhere was silent, but there were places that would less populated. Sitting down against the wall Jake brought his knees close to his chest as he took out the Galbadia Garden file and began to carefully scan over its contents. The SeeD occasionally raised his head to take a quick observation to check if anyone was getting to close before returning to his reading. There wasn't much from what he had read in the first few pages mainly rumours and speculation, such could be expected in an expendable office. But the hope still remained that they weren't all complete idiots, for those that know they're expendable could keep good secrets safe. Hearing the sound of approaching footsteps Jake folded the file shut, placing at his side before stating. "Go away SeeDling, if I wanted your thanks for protecting your sorry hide I'd seek it out." The support SeeD, looking rather frustrated didn't need to be told twice it seemed. "Well that was easy." Jake chuckled as he raised his head to look around before picking the file up once more. It was looking to be a long night of reading ahead for him.
Sorry for my absence been dealing with some personal issues since Easter. Will get something up tonight/tomorrow. Not too sure if I'm comfortable with my own post idea, but will write it up and see how it turns out.
The hallway had been long and to avoid tasting the horrid stench that had surrounded the stroll had been a quiet one. As they reached the wall of evil energy it seemed almost too simple. "Possibly..." Is all Akira said as he glanced around the place. The voice that had 'controlled' him to come this way had been silent and Akira had regained his more logical mind. "The family crypts is usually to close to the surface for a necromancer to hide here, I don't like this." Akira gritted his teeth as his eyes flickered red, even though it was just for a moment. "You will have your turn soon enough demon, so wait!" Akira ordered his voice echoing back down the corridor.
'Akira, we need to talk...' A voice rung out in Akira's head, he recognised it although it wasn't the demons.
"Not now, bad timing." Akira spoke openly as though responding to the voice he'd heard as though it was a person standing before them and speaking to both him and Allura.
'Then I'll keep it short, there's one of 'them' here so you might want to keep quiet until I find you.'
"Ok I understand, we'll keep the noise down." Expecting to be greeted by a confused look Akira simply said "Sorry about that, that was..." Akira remember that Allura was yet to meet his contact and cut himself short. "Well lets get through here then shall we?"

Filled with a sense of urgency more than courage, or logic Akira had discarded his previous concern as he raised his hand towards the wall. 'Volkran, do it...' As Akira thought to himself part of the dark energy seemed to phase into his skin as though he was absorbing the energy. "This could take a while..." Akira smiled to Allura nervously. "Maybe... you could use your powers to help neutralise it?" The man was holding considerable control over the demon, although he had not deemed it necessary to point out that Volkrans actions were restricted within his arm during this procedure. Which even though it didn't appear as such, his current actions were that similar to a ritual. The wall of energy however was considerably powerful and it would take some time to break. Then like a loaded trap the wall released a sudden burst of dark energy over Akira knocking him back a step. There was so coughing as the light leading them was engulfed in the energy making there surroundings almost pitch black, and then the coughing slowed, and eventually stopped. The energy dissipated into the air releasing Akira from its prison. "Hello again angel..." The familiar twisted voice of Volkran would be easy to identify, even in this dark. The fire red eyes of the demon stared deep into Allura's blue eyes. "Even in this darkness, your eyes emit brightly." The demon reaches out its hand then quickly withdraws it as he feels the angels aura from her true form. "oh..." Volkran states with a chuckle. "This could be most fun. How does feel, to have to work with me to get through this?" Volkran asks as he knocks on the wall of energy. "Do not worry, I'll protect that pretty little angelic face of yours from being consumed by what just hit this fool. I wouldn't want to lose my fun..." The demon was as much as a creep as he was any time he spoke to angel, his choice of words deliberate in an attempt to discomfort her.
Sorry I haven't posted yet, will get something done now. I've been away dealing with depression issues like always when I disappear >.<
Wanted to get something up as I'll be away during the Easter weekend hence why I posted so late. Didn't want to have anyone waiting on me so I decided to send myself along with one of the nameless support guys.

I also need to stop playing 14 so much... but I want all my Zeta's ; ;
A rather annoying predicament hand landed at Jake's feet as he looked round at the remaining SeeD's there was only two who were realistically reliable, but they already were a good team and there was no point in changing that. Jake gazed over the few support SeeD that had also made it to the compound before pointing to one of them. "you."
"y-yes?"
Jake grimaced at the staggered response as he grits his teeth and hisses softly. "...Never mind." Was all Jake said as he changed his mind almost instantly just based on that. He points out to another one of the support team. "You, don't speak. You're with me." The support support SeeD reluctantly listened as he heads over. "Now given the predicted patrol movements... we'll return through the back entrance of the compound and use the network of back streets and side alleys to return to base. Should we come into contact with the army I'll run interference, you head back to base."

As the two of them headed back toward the back entrance Jake slid his jacket, what remained of it back on as he shoved the sliced remains of the sleeves into his pockets. The process of putting the jacket back on was a careful one as he kept his files neatly tucked away inside away from eye sight. Each room they passed proved worthy of a quick glancing once over for anything important. "What are you doing?" The support SeeD asked curious of Jake's continuous double checking.
"Clearly I should of gone with the first SeeDling, this is my territory, I'll know if you've missed something." However despite trying to prove a point it became clear that the other SeeD's had done a good enough job. As they reached the back entrance Jake noticed that the wounded guard that he had left had attempted to leave before giving in to the loss of blood at the door. With a sigh the mercenary walked over and knelt before his fallen opponent. "May you find peace in your next life, I had hope that you'd contain the will to live..." With that said Jake pulled the body away from the door ignoring the support's small look of confusion.

As the two exit the building Jake pulled the door to before grabbing his radio and changing the frequency. "May be helpful to listen in on these guys for a bit..." Jake stated as he flicked through searching for the channel the Galbadian's were on. "Remember SeeDling first sight of trouble you run for it... I'm sure I could convincingly pass you for a contact, if you're far enough away that is." The pair took a rather strange and lengthy route through the town with Jake leading the way. It would take them a while to return to base, but Jake was somewhat hopeful they wouldn't run into any soldiers, although it was almost inevitable that at least one group would.
