I'm no expert but if I remember correctly during that time comics were used as propaganda during the war. Lots of comic book heros fought the Nazis and Imperial Japan. Most likely it was able to instill a sense of patriotism among youth.

I am writing a paper on the influence fiction has had on people. Would you guys say that Stan Lee's first comic, The one where Captain America punched Adolf Hitler in the face had in impact on people during World War Two? D you think it Boosted there moral or inspired people to be brave against the Nazi threat?
