My bad! I'll amend the CS to say they come from the northern end of Grapholo. I didn't know what the driving force for the other characters would be at this time, so what better way to kick start things than barbarians at the gates!
Placeholder for my makeup artist!
Hope I'm not too late to join this awesome RP!

My only concern with RPing is a lack of an overarching plot. Does our lovely GM have a plot in mind?

Is the movie on the verge of cancellation just as it's been green-lit?

Or is it suddenly all-the-rage on the blogosphere and now we all have a slim chance of making it big?

Or is the script something that'll make certain groups mad and we might actually be in physical danger because someone doesn't want this story to be told?
I would so be interested in the makeup department!!!
Coolness.

Fate: Kind of what I was going for, but I'm gonna try to shake it up a bit more.
I know what you're thinking, you're thinking "Aleranicus, that's a lot of 'M's' in a title. And M is the best letter in the alphabet! I'm interested in whatever you have to say!"

To which I must unfortunately inform you, the true title of this RP should be something along the lines of "Modern Magical Feudalism RP" but my uncontrollable OCD prevented me from putting that in the title, because- F it. On to the details!

This idea popped into my head a couple weeks back as the germ of a tabletop RP I could run with my friends, either a modified pathfinder or heavily modified World of Darkness. But it needs more detail, more life, and I was hoping this lovely RP community would help me with crafting this world for future play?

Basically, the player characters belong to a hidden race of wizards in the city of Boston. Shapeshifters, pyromancers, aquamancers, necromancers- any sort of "mancer" you can conceive of. The wizard communities are forged around fiefdoms- the lowest and least magically inclined people work in menial jobs, paying taxes to the martial wizards who protect them, who in turn swear loyalty to their lords, who serve the wizard king. It's a system with little or no flexibility. Your father owns the liquor store on that corner because his father owned it, and you will own it and surrender its profits until the day you die.

But every now and then this chain is broken, and opportunities arise to break out of the system.

You serve a minor lord, Augustus Mason, a geomancer who is in disfavor with your current king. In an attempt to regain some standing at the Royal Court in New York, Augustus has sent all of his martial wizards south to respond to a threat of invasion from a rival kingdom in the American South.

Your character can have some relationship with Augustus- a Page or wizard's Squire known at Mason's court- or no relationship at all- a conscript called up to defend Boston in the absence of the more experienced martial wizards.

Your mission- to defend against an invasion at home while your King's army marches south to confront his rival's expected attack.

Anyone interested?
