Biography
Family: Older brother, Finnir, Prince of the Mountain.
Social Heritage: Noble born.
Social Standing: "Knighted" (or the closest thing to for Nords) as he didn't stand to inherit the throne; betrothed to a page at court by the name of Vilnus.
Childhood: Aldred grew up in the shadow of his brother Finnir, running through the hills and mountains of Northern Grapholo while his brother Finnir resented Aldred's freedom. As future Prince, Finnir was groomed from a young age to play politics with the mountain tribes, to marry a Lady who held no interest in him, and to preserve the family legacy as a new permanent dynasty of Princes in the North. Aldred, by contrast, was free to pursue his life's passions- a true understanding of reading and writing, a life of free adventure in the harsh mountains, and a string of passionate romances with lads his own age of various social standings. When Finnir became Prince ten years ago, he tried to force Aldred to settle down in an arranged marriage with a female- an arrangement which Aldred publicly refused, to his brother's immense embarrassment at court. Instead Aldred took a husband, a minor court page by the name of Vilnus, putting the spotlight doubly on Finnir- if he failed to produce an heir, their family line would soon die out.
Occupational History: Ever since his Knighting, Aldred was given the position of Lord of Svinnur Hold, his family's ancestral home. Svinnur Hold sits on the border with Grapholo and when their ambassador came to demand the old allegiances be kept, Aldred had to shepherd the king's messenger to the Prince's Mountain. Knowing his brother coveted the throne and his dynasty, Aldred ushered the ambassador to The People's Mountain to demand they uphold the old treaties in the war. Finnir, suspecting this as some sort of power grab by his brother, granted Aldred command of an army of Nords to fulfill their duties to the old treaty, while taking Vilnus as a "guest" at court. If the army met with failure or if Aldred did not lay down his command, his beloved would be put to death. With a Nordic army at his back, Aldred has begun his march west to take the war to Earroldir's border...
