"I'm free", she said, bewildered. As she sprouted her wings. "You are", he answered, smiling. While hiding all the strings.

Dawwee Sparks, poor thing. That one time when you aren't the one making things more complicated and detailed than necessary... others do it instead xD

I was mainly trying to help Ellri be happy with the power if I am wholly honest. Is first draft Kheris okay? Adila (Alida can never remember which) will be taking on a God(or two) so the history will only really be expanded once that part is reached.

Alida xD Though you can call me Mary, most of my English-speaking friends call me that since it's easier to pronounce and remember.
Also, do you want me to make a cs for them Sep?
Very true, but I suppose they'll at the very least stay a while to do the things you said before returning and reporting back to Jok Lu (the High Saeng/High King of Da-Hyun).
And seeing as one of them is very ambitious indeed and doesn't have a wife nor children to return to, he might want to settle in the city more permanently. After all, since they will never sure how long it will be untill the next asassination in Da-Hyun, it won't be such a bad idea to stay away from those intrigues for a while.

But all of that will of course depend on the events that will take place in the future.

Okay then! Glad to see I'm not the only one with a lack of experience on that field haha. I might ask you for help in the future Echo, but I'll try to do the best I can of course ;3
There are still two Da-Hyunin in Amartyh, yeah. They held a really prominent position back home, but seeing how the chances aren't all that big that they'll ever get back, I'd say they will try their best to gain influence amongst the invaders. However, I'm not that good with political intrigues, so if anyone wants to take them over, go ahead :)

Also, I worked them out on paper so it'll take me some time to type it out (and I'll have some lunch first since I'm practically starving xD)
I'm still working on the smaller bits of the Empire Ellri, sorry that it's taking so long :\ I've got two finished, should I sent those to you or do you prefer to criticize the whole bunch in one go?

It means Alida that I were to type."Kheris turned to his advisor and spoke "Send in the beast."" You as the reader would know he said send in the beast. Your character would be sitting there like "Dafuq did he just say?"Unless you spoke the same language as those in the Dynasty.

Lol yeah I was saying the same thing before but referring to the player's thoughts as "OOC" and what's written as "IC" confused me xD I thought Wil meant that we'd specifically have to mention in the OOC what on earth our characters are talking about haha.

Such as in the Dynasty. I mean they'll be speaking their own amazing thing most of the time.

Exactly, the wide variety of cultures, langues and nations is why I proposed it :)

If they say they're speaking in a different language, then your IC character won't know what is said unless they know said language. We only know what is said regardless OOC-wise.

Yeah of course. But didn't we just agree that we would be typing in English? I'm sorry maybe I'm just a bit dim (I'm blonde so I'll just blame it on that lol) but I don't see what the OOC has to do with understanding what another writer wrote in the IC...

Edit:

If somebody is speaking in a language your character doesn't understand then IC your character won't know what was said, but OOC you will.I think a common tongue would have evolved from the Old Kingdom's native language, considering how widespread it was.

Aaah didn't read this before posting. Sorry it's simply not the way I'd put it but it seems like we're talking about the same thing then :) Sounds like a plan!

I would think the common language would basically be English, but called something different? Or would you guys want to create an entirely new language?

Yeah I think it'd be most practical for us to write in English, but at least note that 'They're talking in the common language right now' so that it'd be easier to cross the linguistic bariers.

Or, one can simply say that they are speaking in Hentonese [example language], and continue writing in english. All that means is that you only know what is said by OOC, not IC, unless you know that language.

How do you mean OOC vs IC Wilson? ;o

So kinda like Common from some books, namely the Age of Fire series, or Stark from Orson Scott Cards' later novels of humanity across different planets and worlds?

I'm not really familiar with either I'm afraid... But yeah, in most fantasy worlds (as well as on earth) there is such a thing as a common language, simply because it's so practical xD I just thought I'd point it out here.
Sparks, I have a little question/suggestion: Would it be an idea if the merchants (at least those on one side of the continent) have formed a sort of "common language"? It'd be a practical, easy to learn language, which is however not too widespread. It's just for the sake of making it easier to trade/communicate with one another, though besides merchants there wouldn't be many who speak it. It'd be a lot like Esperanto. Since it won't really be used on diplomatic mission, "translator" is sitll a profession and of course it never hurts to learn the language of your trading partners ^_^' (to make sure that you know what they're talking about when they think you can't understand what they're saying lol).

I'm not all too sure if this will be all that useful in the rp itself (unless someone decides to create a merchant/someone with a history as a trader), it's more a thing I thought of for the sake of realism.
