Browning stepped from the Pelican, clicking off the safety on his own battle rifle. As his helmet adjusted to the light conditions, it also activated the HUD zoom. He connected to the local radio channel

They're right. I'm seeing railcars a half klick from us, bearing one seven eight. Suggest switching to encrypted channel. I'm also going to request now to take point.

Brownings HUD switched back to standard view range before he turned to look at his fellow fire team members. Once on a secure channel they'd be able to share a feed of what they're seeing. He'd have to insist on that.
ONI not included? Browning doubted that, it even made him wonder if Lasky was being given the full picture. After all, ONI was responsible for the "Spartans never die" propaganda. Plus, to a far lesser extent, he was here, an ONI operative. He'd have to file a report with Rear Admiral Osman later, as well as a request to access these Spartans service records. He didn't like being in the dark, especially not on his team. Perhaps Palmer might help him with that. Then again, people aren't usually so fond of the "spooks"

Commander Palmer. Assuming we make it through this, I'd like to discuss something wth you, ma'am.

With that, he stepped out of the room, heading for the main hangar, his boots making the soft thud as he walked, the floor holding the heavy armour.
Browning finally spoke up, already fearing the groups differing views would negatively effect them

Commander Palmer, Captain Lasky. Do we have word from ONICOM on what exactly we are facing down there? Force composition, firepower, anything? In fact, Captain, if I might, does Rowland have a map of the AO? The more information available the better, as I'm sure you understand sir.

He stopped, looking up at the two Officers stood before him. Hopefully his ONI training would come in handy here.
@Kurai Assassin sorry, was at work. Post up
Staff Sergeant Browning was sitting in his quarters, itching to get back into action. As much as he'd been trained to follow ONI orders, and to operate under their somewhat unique methods of war, he was still a helljumper at heart. The heat of battle, the thrill of the drop, he remembered it all. It had been an honour when he had been offered a place in the Spartan-IV programme, but a small part of him wondered if it had been the right decision.

Still, no time for doubts, he thought, pushing the idea to the back of his mind. As he looked up, Rowland appeared

Spartan Browning. Captain Lasky requires you in the War Room for briefing

With Rowland disappearing, Browning stood, stretching, quickly checking his suit with a once over. Clean as always. No less to be expected of an ONI unit. He took a deep breath, wondering if this had been the job he'd been hoping for, before stepping out of his room and heading for the War Room, his boots making a soft thud as he strode through the vessel.

Upon arriving in the briefing room, he noticed the three other Spartans, and then Captain Lasky. He stood tall, clasping his hands before him. He spoke with a deep, gravely voice, amplified by the speakers from his helmet.

Captain Lasky. How may I be of service?
I've got a CS up. Hopefully it's okay. Just PM me if you think anything needs fine tuning
Appearance:
Name: Staff Sergeant Michael Browning (S-198)

Age: 45

Weapons: BR85 Heavy Barrel Service Rifle, M7S Caseless Submachine Gun

Spartan Armour Ability: Z-90 Photonic Coalescence Emitter/Aegis (//Hardlight Shield)

Bio: Early in his military career, Private Michael Browning was posted on an outer colony world, in the changing period between Insurrection and Covenant war. During the evacuation efforts, the transports, and by extension civilians, came under attack from Covenant forces. This was Browning's first true contact with the Covenant, and he was terrified. Fleeing the world with citizens and soldiers alike, he watched the sleek covenant vessels burn that world to glass. His meeting there shaped his future, even if he didn't quite realise it yet.

The transports orders had been to jump around between various worlds, in accordance with remnants of the Cole Protocol, before heading for the more secured inner colonies. This led him to many ship to ship battles, giving him the necessary experience in his early UNSCDF career, at least against the likes of the Unggoy and Kig-Yar.

After months of travel through slip-space, and intense training on Browning's part, they finally made their way back to UEG space. Browning recieved a promotion to Lance Corporal, and immediately applied for the UNSC Special Operations Division. Rumors of his dedication to his task, and his intense training regime, reached the ears of the ODST command staff, leading to an invitation to their strict training and vetting process. Within a few years, Lance Corporal Browning would be jumping feet first with some of the best the UNSC had to offer.

Nearing the end of the Covenant War, Staff Sergeant Browning found himself in the sights of the Office of Naval Intelligence. After tentatively accepting their invitation, he was inducted into the SPARTAN-IV programme, finding deployment on the UNSC Infinity. He has served there since, but seems to report more often to ONI than FLEETCOM. He still finds himself with a soft-spot to ODST's. It could be considered his greatest weakness.

Other: Rarely removes his helmet. ONI logo is painted on his armour.

//please PM me if you think something needs updating/changing. I've intentionally left a couple bits a little vague, just as I'm not sure how to detail/approach that yet. Hopefully this is okay
Hi @Kurai Assassin. Are you still looking for people for this? I'd really like to be a part of this!
Hey all! Just found the site and this looks great!

I have a little RP experience from a gaming community I ran with for a few years, but I don't know how well I am compared to you guys (and gals) here. Hopefully I'll be joining some things soon!

I look forward to RPing with you all,

Joe
