— Would you perhaps advise us to whom we can go to wrangle out a bit more practice time more, ah, legally?

He was smiling genially and projecting a slight, almost imperceptible feeling of trustworthiness.

Hearing the start of Pablo's heroically elated tirade, Takumi barely managed to contain an expression of annoyed distaste.

"Oh no, you won't be doing this," - he thought, feeding Vox Vulgaris another pulse of energy.

Takumi's inner vision blanked out for a second, then exploding into a synaesthetic kaleidoscope of smell and color, once his brain shifted into "system-feeling" mode. Then he mentally reached out to the part of language that corresponded to the immediate area he was in, found Pablo's pattern in it, and sharply p̴̜̫͔̘̼̭ͧ͆̄͑͊̂̚ͅȗ̧̝̳͚̞̦̥̈ͅl͗̐ͦͭͣ͠ļ̾͂ͩ̒́ẽ̩͉̜͕̖̃ͪ͢ḓ̟̿ͅ, knocking the interlocking bits of the puzzle out of alignment. A small, nigh-imperceptible trickle of entropy surged invisibly outward, interfering with Pablo's function.

Takumi nodded sagely, trying not to laugh because of nigh palpable awkwardness radiating from the scene. He wasn't sure what triggered it, but having run 「Social Dynamics Assessment」 for the majority of the fight, to intervene in case people went for blood, he was fed the minute changes to the attitudes of both combatants with helpful highlights.

— I guess it's time for you to pay up, then. And then, would one of you kindly go check what's our next thing on today's curriculum is? — he said all solemn-like, while coming down to the arena level from the bleachers, preparing to exit the combat room once he saw to it that the transaction was completed successfully.

Takumi perked up at the mention of such a challenge.

"I see your hundred, Pablo, and I raise you two," — he fixed his eyes on the guy, measuring his stance and gait with a semi-automatic call to Vox Vulgaris. "Do you call or fold?"

He observed the guy and his immediate vicinity with sparked interest.

Takumi was chewing on a surplus military energy bar he pilfered off Gloria a couple of days ago. They were pretty basic cereal-and-raisins slightly sweet deals, but he took an inexplicable liking to the taste; he always got a bit hungry after using Vox Vulgaris after a bit of a pause, and there was no spot to train for the last several days.

He noted that Yuri sat near him, but said nothing about it. Fun was hard to come by these days.

"Any idea when the teacher arrives?" -- he asked, eyeing Gloria and the almost-combatants.

We're in the same class. Apparently due to, you know, this being a paramilitary academy, they don't care over-much about our previous mundane educations. Makes sense since it builds cohesion and NAs don't conveniently appear at the start of the first semester of high school.
