Hello there! As you may have gathered from the title, I'm looking for a few 1x1's with which to entertain myself! I have quite a few ideas, but before we get to that, you should know...
-I generally RP between the casual and advanced levels. Length isn't too important to me -I'm fine with an average of two to three paragraphs- but good grammar and spelling is a must. Everyone makes mistakes, of course, but please give each post at least a once over, and please don't be offended if I point out any of my pet peeve mistakes; not capitalizing the word 'I', for example.
-I'd be up for a FxM, MxM, or FxF; just tell me which you'd prefer. For FxM, I prefer to play the female role. Be aware that, in MxM and FxF, my character is generally the more dominant one. It's fine if you'd like it to be the other way around, just let me know first.
-I really have no limits, though I'd prefer for the RP to be via PMs if you anticipate wanting to make things explicit.
-I list things as pairings, but I really don't like for characters to be romantically involved in just the first few pages. I like exploring friendships, rivalries, the various relationships that can come before romance. Lust at first sight and maybe a more flirty relationship are one thing, but yeah. Relationships! Haha. If you wanted, we could even make the RP about the friendship between our two main characters, and double for romance if we are so inclined.
So! My ideas! *Indicates the role that I'd like to play, with no asterisk meaning that I'd play either role. Most ideas are listed as FxM, but genders are interchangeable. These are just short blurbs, and I can elaborate upon request.
MEDIEVAL FANTASY:
-The story of a prince and his personal knight*. I'd imagine that the RP would contain several timeskips, following them from their first meeting as children, to when he discovers that his knight is actually a female, and beyond.
-A leader of a band of mercenaries is approached one day by a mysterious woman* who says that she is the their comatose, quickly fading king's illegitimate child and the rightful heir to his throne. Civil war is brewing because the king apparently had no children whatsoever, and there are many who would take his place. The woman requests that the mercenary assist her in pressing her own claim, promising great rewards should they succeed.
-Knights in the service of two feuding countries encounter each other several times, each managing to save the other's life every time they meet. When the war is finally won, the knight on the side of the losers is taken a prisoner, but the victor saves their life once more and takes said prisoner on as a member of their personal guard. The two have fantastical adventures and, well, you get the gist.
-The warrior queen* of a southern, desert-dwelling people decides to accept the proposal by a northern king for her to marry his younger son, to cement the relationships between their two peoples. He originally dreads the idea of being traded off in such a manner, but grows to love his new people and, eventually, his new wife.
-A noble runs away from their home and high birth to pursue adventure and glory. Said noble is pursued, and eventually captured by, a bounty hunter*. The noble escapes, is recaptured, and this pattern repeats for a while before the bounty-hunter decides to give up the bounty and they end up going off on adventures together.
MODERN:
-The night of their high school prom, a young man and his high school sweetheart* are driving to their favorite spot in town, where he plans to propose. Unfortunately, they'd never arrive; another car ran a red light and plowed into theirs. All parties were injured, but the young woman would lose her life, hand clutching her boyfriend's. Fifteen years, two kids, and one divorce later, he's a drunken, bitter man in his thirties. His life is turned upside down one day when the love of his life returns, seemingly unchanged from the moments before that crash so long ago.
- (Zombie Apocalypse) Two best friends shipped out to Iraq; at the end of their tour of duty, only one returned. The survivor intended to bring his friend's grieving widow* and two small children his friend's dogtags, help them with moving to a smaller home or anything else they might need, and get blackout drunk. But his intentions turn to just keeping them alive when the apocalypse begins.
- (Biblical Apocalypse) Your character is a staunch atheist who refuses to believe even in the wake of the rapture. Mine is a disobedient angel* who, for her own reasons, is determined to ensure that yours lives through the end of days. It will have a tone very much similar to the book Good Omens, if you're familiar with it.
-I don't have much for this one, beyond my character being a teenaged runaway. Yours could be a friend who came after her, another runaway, a cop who takes her in... So yeah! Again, I don't have much for this one! But that just means that we have more to collaborate on!

Howdy there! I'm 19 and from Texas, though I'm currently going to college in New York. I've been roleplaying for quite a few years, and prefer casual or advanced roleplays. On that note, the IC is up!
The picturesque, upper New York town of Bradbury is memorable only for its nice views and long, freezing winters. It's the sort of town that adults describe as quaint and wholesome, and most youths describe as an isolated black hole that will suck you in for life if you don't get out as soon as possible. It's all subjective, of course, but even adults find it hard to argue that it can get pretty boring on a Friday night. Sure, there's the odd pizza joint or bowling alley, but once they get to a certain age, teenagers avoid these like the plague; and the owner of the one bar in town seems to know everybody in town -though that's not a very difficult task- and trying to get a fake ID past him only results in a ride in a police car and an awkward conversation with the parents.
Given the above, the one place that teenagers seem to gravitate towards most is the aptly named Bradbury Mall. With an arcade, a movie theater, an impressive food court, and almost twenty stores ranching from clothes to comics, Bradbury Mall is busy every night of the week and packed out on weekends. The cool September night on which our story starts is no different. Adult pushing strollers with sleeping toddlers, gangs of kids too young to be high schoolers but finally old enough to enjoy the freedom of hanging out without parents hovering constantly nearby, teenagers talking and laughing in twos and threes and fours; for the most part, it all looked the same as any other mall would look on any other night.
One aspect, though, was notably different; dotting the crowds were people in yellow tee-shirts with 'The Sharing' printed across the chest. There were men and women, teens and adults and the elderly, people from every walk of life whose only shared qualities seemed to be their shirts and the wide smiles they wore. Though just less than one year old, some one hundred and fifty of the town's four thousand or so population was already a member of the group. Every Friday for months they'd been at the mall, handing out colorful brochures and recruiting.
Though their persistence and almost eerily cheerful manners annoyed and even unnerved some, even most who didn't intend to join could understand the appeal. It was all about togetherness, doing community service, and enjoying the company of friends and family. When they weren't helping out around town and doing food drives, they were organizing camping trips and cookouts, all without any added fees or requirements. Particularly active members were even promoted to the somewhat secretive 'inner-circle'; though, even few in the group knew exactly what being in it entailed beyond gaining extra leadership roles within the organization.
Of course, even the members of The Sharing would be clearing out soon. It was nearly ten at night, nearing curfews for most. Those without curfew would only have until eleven before the entire mall closed. For most, the night was very nearly over; however, for five teenagers, it was only just beginning.

To the north are particularly heavy forests and another lake, and the Sharing's main retreat area, the roads to the east lead into the mountains and eventually to the next town over, and those to the west and south lead out of town.

You're a mind reader, Terminal! DotCom and I were just discussing that. Well, if y'all can get all of the boys together, I'm sure that DotCom and Proxy could figure out a way for their characters to stick together long enough to get alien superpowers. The goal is to get them all walking home together, so that they may pass the abandoned construction site where the UFO will land. Maybe the guy group could see the girls and one of them suggest that they walk together to be all chivalrous and whatnot? And maybe Olivia could stay just because she doesn't care enough to go out of her way to not walk home with these people -plus, maybe she could use the 'hers and Mario's moms being friends' thing, I'm not sure- and the guys could just put up with Max because she is nice, if not the easiest person to be around, and they wouldn't want to see her hurt.
Just throwing out ideas. I'm sure that y'all can figure out something!
In the meantime, I would really like for there to be at least two pairs of good friends at the start of the group. I don't suppose any of you could decide on that for the relationship between y'all's characters?

I'm still reviewing y'all's profiles, so no commentary on those just yet, but to address some things that need to be addressed....
@Dedonus: Yes, humans count as animals, and morphing them is just like morphing any other one. In the books, they would occasionally morph each other when needed, but the team considered it unethical to acquire and morph a sentient creature without their permission. That's not necessarily the case here, I just wanted to put that out there. Additionally, there are a lot of dangers that come with morphing other people. The yeerks will know that you're out there; they won't know who you are, but they'll know. And when you're searching for a group of morphers, the same person being in two different places is a dead give away. Additionally, when one morphs a human being, they risk that person being targeted by the yeerks. So, yeah! Morphing humans=possible, maybe not preferable.
Morphs cannot be acquired accidentally. The process is intentional, and requires just a few moment of mild concentration. It should also be noted that, when acquired, an animal goes into sort of a daze for around fifteen seconds or so. It's sort of like being hit with a very strong sedative that wears off very quickly.
@Everyone: While I have some comments/suggestions for all of the profiles submitted, I think that it's safe for all of you to go ahead and start plotting previous relationships as dear Dot has suggested. We really value those pre-existing relationships, because they do make things a lot more interesting than just starting as strangers. Characters could be friends, enemies, friendly rivals, cousins, ex-lovers, current lovers, study-buddies, neighbors... Be creative! I understand that it's hard to go over what relationships you want your characters to have without all of the characters to reference, though, which brings me to my next point...
Invite your friends! If you know someone who might be interested in this RP, please drop them a link and invite them to apply! If we get one or two great applications above our preferred limit, we may considering expanding it just a tiny bit.

Looks good so far, Dedonus, though I'll ask for a little bit more in appearance; you put his ethnicity, which makes me assume brown hair/brown eyes/olive skin, and that he's clean shaven, but not much else, really. Height, weight, hair style/length, etc. would all be appreciated.
