Sister Melody Delacroix
A young lady, sixteen years of age. What is Melody? [Race]She is a Nephalem, a race of man that is said to be the descendants of angels.Who is Melody? [Description & A little of her Background]Melody is a small girl standing just below five-foot in height whom speaks little and abhors violence. Strands of blonde locks fall lightly down her shoulders while messy bangs loosely fall just above her brow and a white ornaments hold rebellious sections into small twin-tails. Should you make eye contact, piercing blue eyes would stare back almost in a frightened manner that seems to hint that fear of confrontation that she has. Melody is a priestess of the Order of Joan, an all-female sect of religious healers and white magic practitioners whom are often seen travelling to the less-fortunate places to offer help and spread their teachings, their place of origin is not known but they are respected greatly for their actions. What is her Story?
Melody was the daughter of two honest farmers who owned land near the foothills northeast of Burbof. Here they lived their honest lives as the owners of the local wheat mill, being the primary source of food for the area and often traded with nearby kingdoms, along with making the long trade route to their home kingdom. The family was very happy, the mother and father taught the young Melody to work the mill and cultivate the land, and when she reached the age of ten they began bringing her with them on their routes. One fateful day they came across a group of robed women along the road, the family didn't acknowledge them at first, but when one of the younger women of the group grabbed Melody by her arm, the family pulled their daughter away defensively and began to question them.
An elderly woman stepped away from the group introducing them as the Order of Joan. She explained to the family that Melody was not an ordinary human, and that the girl could do much greater things for the world with their teaching. Awestruck and confused, the family declined their offer saying that 'there was no chance they'd so quickly hand their daughter to a stranger'. The family passed the group of women silently, and continued with their route to the kingdom. On their way, Melody's mother began to feel ill so much to the point that she fainted en route to the nearby village. Unable to treat her as they did not carry medicine with them, things looked grim. In a short few moments the group of women began walking up the road towards them, they didn't seem to have been following them but they did see that the mother of Melody was lying on the ground and seemed to need assistance. Quickly they came to her attention, cooling her off with various methods and giving her herbal remedies. Quickly the mother rose, thankful to the women. The young Melody had grown fond of these women's ability to help people, telling her two parents that they were 'amazing'.
It was then that the two parents realized that these people could likely give their daughter a better life than they, so they asked the Order for another week with their daughter, and after that they would say their farewells. The women agreed to these conditions saying that they would appear at their mill once these days were up to collect the girl, and that if they changed their mind it would be fine. They finished their route that day without any further problems, and returned home that night. The next morning they explained the situation to the young Melody, afraid at first, she declined. Though as she spent her week normally with her parents, she gradually accepted it, sadly she did not grow any happier when she departed with the group of women.
And then began her life of priesthood, she was taught the ways of Joan and her benevolence to every race equally. She learned of her innate talent with white magic, and healing altogether. And finally she decided to break from the Order once she reached the age of sixteen, to find her own path, to help those she felt worthy... all on her own.
What's she like? All in all, Melody is an extremely innocent girl who is often air headed at times. She's extremely intelligent when it comes to medical arts and magic, however her social skills and trouble of dealing with people often cloud her strong points and although she may not allow people inside of her bubble, she is protective to those around her and dislikes anyone to get hurt.. She is even likely to heal enemies if she feels they aren't bad."Please don't hug me, I'm gunna.. Ugh~""Just the tip? The tip of what?""Pardon? I don't understand what you mean by 'wanting to be with me'. You're right there.""Uhm.. I think you're really strong. I admire that, as a friend."What is her job? [Job]Melody is a healer, specializing in both Medicine and Healing Magic. What can she do? [Skills]Melody is capable of making a number of beneficial concoctions and medicines using herbs and other flora with traits she is able to utilize. She is also equipped with a great knowledge of magic, both beneficial and detrimental, being able to identify curses and hexes by their conditions alone while also being able to cast spells that mend wounds or cure these ailments.
