Sure, just don't expect the AI to be something like Cortana. It'd be more along the lines of AI in early Ghost in the Shell, where they still are young and learning with bursts of development more than straight up being rapidly developed.
No, AI wouldn't fit the purpose of the plot. Nor the setting.
