Once back on Kurn, Xukhezur sent his two remaining optic orbs south and west to scout for signs of more civilization, as he himself began exchanging telepathic messages with his protomorphic minion, as it was escorted by Captain Lu'Vayla Dezuqui the Velocimaster and four of her company to see Lord Turrex. The lord was one of the founders of that particular enclave which lay near the southern edge of the Lorosfyr. In this remote region of the underdark, the people of the enclave had had recently come into contact with a few clans of midgard dwarves, who shared the imaskari's lack of faith in the gods. It was with three of these that Lord Turrex spoke, as the captain and the Xukhezur's minion emerged into the long subterranean hall, after having been quickly vetted by the guards at the various checkpoints.

Lord Urzaius Turrex was a tall, lean and dark, with short cropped white hair, garbed in a broad-collared nightscale greatcoat and a sash bearing the sigils of his station. Wall sconces bearing everburning torches lit the hall, revealing the lord, his guards and the three immortal otherworldly dwarves he spoke with. These dwarves occupied light mithril breastplates, with exquisitely marked pauldrons, vambraces, and greeves, all of which bore the symbols and etched creeds of their corresponding clans. They all glanced momentarily at the patiently waiting captain and minion, before turning their attentions back to the lord.

"I welcome you to an extended stay, and to consider our proposal of building a portal or a vessel that can facilitate trade across the Lorosfyr. The people of this enclave are eager for opportunities to expand their horizons, and to helping this community grow and prosper to the extent that we are welcome. I understand you brought some of your finest spirits, so I've arranged for a feast to be held so that you may show us how to best enjoy them in the fitting manner. If you like, our court concierge can guide you to our kitchens, kettles and ovens, where you can sample the fare before being shown to your accommodations." Urzaius was overheard saying as he nodded in in turn to each. "Lady Echoshaft and Lords Giganfist and Underblast, if you'll excuse and pardon me, other matters of state appear to require my attendance at this moment."

"We thank you, hun. It appears you and yours will be among the best neighbors we've known in these parts," replied the thoughtful and reserved Lady Inosha Echoshaft with a smile, mostly to remind the other two lords of the fact. The two dwarven lords nodded in agreement, as their expressions began to lighten up. "Aye, we should soon provide you more detailed information regarding this area you've chosen to settle, so we have a chance to mark the extent of our claims and establish borders. Your side of the void was always more perilous than ours, and our clans will likely agree to officially forfeit some claims that we have been hard pressed protect on our own." added Lord Athek Underblast, who then turned to clap the impregnable Lord Urlgar Gigantfist on the back, who eventually nodded with a sigh of resignation. "That's better. Let us at least see what they can do with them and perhaps give us new ideas in the process." Athek said, who helped Inosha usher Urlgar from the hall before Urlgar himself could think of another reason to protest.

Lu'Vayla and Xukhezur's minion moved aside, and gave a small bow from the waist as the dwarves passed and exited the room. From the world of Kurn, Xukhezur listened to his minion summarize what had just occurred, asking what it should say to Lord Turrex. Led by Xukhezur's telepathic commands, the minion slid through the air a bit toward Turrex, inches above the ground, before speaking. "Greetings Lord Turrex, on behalf of my creator, Farseeker Xukhezur Kavinath, I come bearing a report. The city of Lithium on the world of Kurn was recently sacked by fiendish forces, and as fortunate as it was that most of the citizens and their guests successfully fled, my creator never discovered their intended route or destination. Neither of us are familiar with the sewers they used to make their escape, nor can we reach them from the city itself. If those who plundered our armory cache in the Deep Waste are among these people, then my creator should try and use one of the armory's master tracer gems before they make it to another warded settlement."

Lord Turrex listened patiently until given a chance to respond, "Tell your creator that I will send one as quickly as I can. Captain Dezuqui, see to the matter of retrieving one from our head quartermaster after handing him this note, I will see to informing your company of your temporary absence." he said, smoothly walking over to scribe a quick coded note and seal it with his arcane mark. "Once you are prepared, we will send you to Kurn directly using our primary Batrachi Terminus."
Hello players, I was wondering if you guys would be willing to revise your character's stats to reflect the 25 pathfinder point buy. A friend might be interested in joining the game, and I agree with his assertion that the stats should be addressed. I apologize if you had originally rolled your stats and considered yourself lucky to have them, but perhaps if you did, a chance to redistribute and reassign them might work to your advantage.
GM Post: Sequestered in the foremost wagon, Lyneesi Greenwind had awoken when the caravan pulled to a halt and some of the riding dogs started wining. It wasn't but a few moments until she sensed a feeling of alarm through the empathic link she shared with her familiar, Meanbeak. The spry blonde halfling scurried over crates of fabric and barrels of pipeweed, arming herself with her spyglass as she went to peek out from a flap woven in the wagon's canvas covering. She watched her familiar's movements from afar, as the crow flew in in a figure eight above a nearby hill. She immediately hastened out of the wagon beside its driver, to cast a cantrip that would enable her to whisper a message to her brother, Weskus, who was seated about thirty yards ahead of her, with the group of riding dogs that had stayed with the caravan.

"What is happening? I think Meanbeak has spotted hidden trouble ahead." Lyneesi whispered to him. "I can see a large minotaur on the far side of the bend. Seems the marshal is busy talking to him, or her... I can't tell from here." Weskus whispered back with a start. He then spoke to the others beside him without turning his head. "My sister's familiar might have spotted something we haven't seen yet. Signal the others behind us to ready their weapons, Vandru. The comparatively large, muscular male halfling with the clean shaven and tattooed head, nodded in response and relayed hand signals to the caravan drivers to ready their weapons.

Weskus and Vandru, the contingent of dog riders about them, and the caravan that was still parked on the far side of the hill that blinded the bend in the road, armed themselves for the worst, while the marshal Karlvar Aerostone and the foremost contingent of dog riders who could overhear his conversation with Sharphorn, scanned the nearby hills, coniferous trees and exposed rock formations to see if they could find those friends the minotaur spoke of. After they witnessed the Sharphorn's display of strength, the marshal replied steadily, "Sounds reasonable to me. How many friends are we talking about?"
Typically the first step in playing a D&D game is deciding what level to start at and generating a character.
Deciding on how to start the storyline, is often helped by knowing what kind of characters are going to be in it.
So, if anyone needs help doing this, I'd suggest first joining Myth Weavers to make use of the online character sheets they feature.

3.5 D&D Example Sheet: Zukhezur Kavinath @ lvl 1

Once folks have done so, they can start reading bits and pieces of what can be found on the 3.5 d20 SRD.

On this thread or using PMs, I can answer questions as you go and provide more links.
If enough prove interested, I can DM a starter story arc or two to keep your beaks wet.
I'm reluctant to commit to the task of providing for a full-fledged campaign at this time, but circumstances can always change.
There might be room in the thread I'm a part of.

Demon War of Kurn
No worries, I've had a slow go of it past few days myself.
Here's a recent hive mother beholder villain I drafted, in case anyone wants to use it. Dreadglare the Spellsire.

It could always serve as a basis for Grimhold's stats, given how easily he was able to dispel Xukhezur's magic.
As the grimaskari Xukhezur had fled west, he eventually flew beyond the sight of the city of Lithium. He'd left one of his optic orbs to orbit the city and monitor the fiendish forces and their movements. He needed to figure out where the defenders of the city had fled, in order to contact his superiors and inform them of the fate that had befallen Lithium. He required the assistance of one of those who had last visited and examined the items stored in the Imaskari armory cache that had been plundered. Making sure he was alone, he took a minute to open a protomorphic gate to his protomorphic demiplane. The rectangular portal soon opened wide enough to permit him to enter it, as he momentarily left the prime material plane of Kurn. Once in his demiplane, he released himself from within his eiffgy mecha 'Shroud' and called out his protomorphic minion to join him and to prepare itself for a little journey. Once it was ready, he opened a second protomorphic gate that led to the edge of the imaskari enclave that lay near the Lorosfyr void deep in Toril's underdark.

They were greeted by a score of the enclave's spellswords with their weapons readied, although they relaxed when they recognized the mechamancer. The company stood at ease or resumed their training as he spoke steadily across the threshold of his gate, "Greetings. I apologize for being abrupt. But if some among you would kindly escort my minion to Lord Turrex as my attending proxy, I would be grateful." In response, a lithe and adroit, dark haired imaskari captain stepped forward and nodded, "Captain Lu'Vayla Dezuqui at your disposal. I don't believe we've met. " As she replied with a welcoming smile, she gave him a salute, by laying a hand across her chest, whilst holding an etched blade in a vertical position to display its markings for him to read.

"Your reputation precedes you Velocimaster. I'm Farseeker Xukhezur Kavinath. Pleased to meet you and disappointed I can't linger." he replied with respect, as he examined the blade a moment. "Although, I'm sure once I've gone back to my current business, your new crew here might be coerced into providing information relevant to the role I play on behalf of this enclave," he continued, as he dismissed with a wave, the comical shrugs and looks of feigned ignorance passed their way. A well regarded arcane warrior of the highest order, Lu'Vayla was capable of manipulating the timestream in her favor to a degree that few others of his kind could match. If anyone understood how to make the most of time itself, it was her. He found himself briefly contemplating how he might keep her within his orbit for reasons that slowly wandered beyond her professional value. His obligations of recent years had kept him from pursuing anything more than the occasional distraction that was both brief and discreet, to keep himself balanced and renewed for the path ahead. He still wanted to test the limits of how far he could take himself and his craft, fearful of losing his edge or letting down those who counted on people like him to help watch the proverbial gates.

Before his moment of consideration grew too long for comfort, Xukezhur pivoted to bidding his minion to stay with the captain and whomever she assigned to escort it to see the lord. "Very well, seems I have nothing to worry about on this end," he commented to express his confidence in them. "If you or your company require anything I can help with, just relay it to my minion. Until next time, thanks, and I hope you all find the success you seek." After his minion slid through the air on its gravity aura to join the company, Xukhezur waved and dismissed the open gate between them.

Once he returned inside his mecha, Xukhezur guided it back through the first gate he had opened, into the world of Kurn, before he dismissed that gate as well.
GM POST: "Nonsense," replied a darker, well conditioned male halfling who'd blown the whistle, looking back as he was joined up front by the seven other halflings on riding dogs, and one riderless riding dog, which approached the minotaur with a snarl and raised hair. "I must apologize for the animal, its young and has yet finish its training. As for your question, we don't keep slaves of any kind. Those behind us are just merchants and their mercenaries looking to travel in the company of others. These lands demand caution, and our company helps protect our trade routes, such as this one between our lands southwest of here and the port of Cloak Wood. I'm Errant Marshal Aerostone, and we would appreciate it if you would allow us to continue along this road without conflict. If you're alone and just looking for something, perhaps we can help. With whom do I speak?"
The humans and dwarves are not chained, they are merely holding the leashed riding dogs that the halflings aren't using right now.
